QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 08:53 AM) Baldwin had an outstanding 1st half in 2000. I think he had 10 or 11 wins by the ASB. The game that stands out to me was when the Sox strolled into Seattle with Baldwin starting. Rickey Henderson was leading off and Baldwin struck him out on 4 pitches in about 12 seconds. It was the fastest I have ever seen Henderson get rung up. He dominated that game, with El Caballo providing the runs. Too bad his shoulder fell apart.

QUOTE(go-sox05 @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 08:21 AM) when are the sox gonna trade for eric milton. hes the pretty good and dosent give up a lot of home runs. LOL, you are kidding right? Sarcasm goes in green! Milton gave up 43 last year, the year before he was injured, 24, 35, 35, 28, and 25 his rookie year. Thats ALL Milton does is give up homeruns edit: And this year, Milton has given up 29

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 01:34 AM) Source? Can't there be something in the contract that lets them get out of it if something happens the first year? I guess the language would be similar to maggs' contract... I heard Scoop Jackson talking about that as being the best option, and I definitely was agreeing... I really like Scoop Jackson. He is like a quiet, smart, respectful version of Stephen A Smith. I used to have to listen to SAS on Foxsports radio mornings Saturdays(In Southern Illinois, there was ONE AM sportstalk station) and he would absolutely rip apart callers, interviewees, co-hosts, anyone that disagreed with him. I still am in disbelief that he holds so much esteem within ESPN. During the 2004 NBA playoffs, I swear Greg Anthony and Stephen A almost got into a fight during the broadcast. Of course, this was after Stephen A declared that the Heat had NO chance in the 1st round, and that it was a mockery that they were even in the playoffs. After the Heat won the game, the camera panned the panel, and they all just stared at Stephen A, he looked like he was really embarrassed. Then he composed himself and began to rip the Heat again. It was nice to see him get his for once.

QUOTE(SHAFTR @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 09:33 PM) I've never been a bat-girl fan. It's not because she is a twins fan either, I have plenty of friends who are Twins fans. It's just that I don't think her blog is that good. I think it's one of those situations where a girl is doing something that is traditionally male (be it Baseball Blogs, video games, etc.) and all of a sudden what she is doing is suddenly looked at as being better than it really is. Find me a male blog in which the writing is and content is as clever. I hate what she says, but damn if she doesnt make me laugh while she is saying it. Come on, this girl comes up with Lego scenarios, that alone makes her a step above most blogs. She doesnt get caught up in stats and fluff and cheers her team in a society that exists in her head. If she were a Sox fan we would be hailing her as a genius. The only thing that really bugs me is the way she still talks down about the Sox. You would think Torii Hunters "you gotta respect your opponent" mantra would have rubbed off on her by now.

Im not gonna bag on that little pooch too hard. He is at the end of his life, and his body is basically falling apart. Too bad his owner sees fit to make him known as the ugliest dog ever before he dies. That being said, Holy F***** Christ! Can you imagine waking up to that thing staring at you? Gives me the heebie jeebies just thinking about it. Ill stick with my Lab and Basset Hound, TYVM.

QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 11:46 PM) Hot Hot Heat- Elevator Birdman- Fast Money R. Kelly- TP.3 Led Zeppelin- Led Zeppelin III U2- The Joshua Tree I've been listening to those mostly the past few days. I have been reading nothing but good things about Hot Hot Heat's Elevator, but I am pretty unfamiliar with them. I thought I remembered a swing band with the same name. Is that them?

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 06:30 PM) First still shot was from 1985's "Breakfast Club", the other was 2001's "Not Another Teen Movie." About 15 years apart. LOL, he DID age 15 years between shots!

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 06:12 PM) Turned out to be a blast. Glad I participated. We went on a flaming rampage! Gunny stuff. We found out what the meaning of Nuked Toilet is. That made the thread worthwhile in itself

QUOTE(NCsoxfan @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 05:42 PM) I had an interesting thought... Which team would be the best right NOW if they had only players that they drafted. If a player has been drafted by more than one team, lets assume he would play for the team that first drafted him. Can anyone compile a list of the best teams according to this method?? Such a complex question. When does the cutoff start? 1990? 1995?

The important question here is, Will A-Rod wear his pretty white shoes? -

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 05:45 PM) Yes. I think they sounded too much like other bands coming out at that time, to the masses. The lead singer(only member) was part of Trent Reznor's first band, Lucky Pierre. They were part of one the best concerts I ever attended. Prick Nine Inch Nails David Bowie At the World Music Center It was Incredible! I was there buddy, in the pavilion, 15th row. Great Show except for Bowie cutting itshort due to illness. I was just gonna ask if you heard Prick's 2001 album, The Wreckard. I didnt even know there was another album until I did some research lately. It is STRANGE. Some really good stuff, some stuff way out there. I have a few Lucky Pierre songs on my Ipod as well. I didnt know Reznor was a part of that band, I only thought he appreciated it and brought Kevin McMahon into Nothing records because of his appreciation.

QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 04:51 PM) JR had nothing to do with it. Tom quit because of ignorant comments made by Hawk regarding Tom's sexual abuse as a child. Were these comments personal, or during a broadcast? -
QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 03:45 PM) I really enjoy Trent's new stuff. There is a maturity there, that wasn't there before. It's less about him and more about the music as whole. Very organic. I like that, i never thought of it that way. Are you a fan of Prick? I never understood why they didnt do as well as they could have.

Thats nothing. That bull has his horns clipped. Last night I was watching Fox Reality channel (Worlds Craziest Videos part 3) and some bull with complete horns(very sharp, very very very sharp) embedded his horns in some poor guys bunghole at least a foot deep. If that guy didnt go straight to the hospital I would be amazed.

QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 03:05 PM) The book was better. If we start getting into Stephen King books/movies then you get some really interesting endings. Some of his stories don't even really have endings. He just leaves it up to the reader's imagination. They certainly don't all end with "happily ever after" either... For anyone that has read the Dark Tower series. That ending was suprising, although I kinda suspected it anyway. I know a lot of people that hated it. And to think that some people had been waiting 20 years for that ending... I have gotten to "The Wolves of Calla" so far, so no spoilers please Nobody is ever happy with the way an author ends things. But in the end, it is the authors story to do with what they will. Stephen King is pretty awesome, I want to read The Plant, i heard it was pretty good. too bad all of kings fans took him for a sucker when he offered to let them read it online if they promised to pay later.

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 03:02 PM) You are talking my language. Some of the best of that Genre. Great stuff! KMFDM, Thrill Kill Kult, Rev Co... I have grown away from that stuff nowadays, but I am still a huge NIN fan. I will still throw the Wax Trax stuff in every now and then for a glimpse into my high school angry days. What do you think of the recent NIN music(Fragile and With Teeth)?

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 02:58 PM) Yeah, that 4IP and 1ER in Charlotte, just proves it... him out the door. He's done. Didnt you expect to hear something about his pitching session in Florida this week? He pitched fairly well in charlotte, who knows what happened afterwards?

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 02:59 PM) I always thought they were to Ska/soft rock oriented. I need a little more hard rock mixed in there. They're not bad just not a personal fav. they changed into that. Recieving the Gift of Flavor is pretty hard compared to Master of Styles and Too Much Stereo. Their shows still rock though, they really go crazy on stage. At least they do in Carbondale.

QUOTE(quickman @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 02:49 PM) I agree furthermore I still don't think he is injury free. El Duque is still hurt. I was thinking that his throwing session over the AS break got no pub whatsoever. You know if ozzie and KW liked what they saw, it would be all over the media. I dont think he is healthy either.
