Im not necassarily convinced the two players are connected so much as to think that moving Shingo would be a detriment to Iguchi. They are both proffessionals, they know how things work.
  2. Although it would be funny if Hawkins came back to Chicago and performed well. Cubs fans would be PISSED.
  3. QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 11:40 AM) too easy... yes she was. that was how she got 7 kids.
  4. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 11:40 AM) Let's also not forget he has only 2 options for playing in the NL: PH, & 1B. He's more likely to injure his elbow or back playing 1B than he is DH'g. With the White Sox or any AL team for that matter he would DH almost as often as he plays 1B. So you want Thome to come to a team that already has two DH options, and still no backup at 1st?
  5. Its not an opinion Juggs, its been known for quite some time.
  6. Blake is still wondering how he had one hit in 4 games, to go along with 4 strikeouts. He was awful this weekend, he really shouldnt have been talking about anyone.
  7. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 10:40 AM) Correction. Thome was definitely considered a health risk before that signing. That's why that deal was so ludicrous. I agree YASNY, everythign i read was how all the teams were scared off because of Thomes current and impending back problems. The guy turns on the ball like Canseco used to, im sure his lower back is all twisted up.
  8. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 10:02 AM) Regardless to what was said...Thome would love to hit at the Cell...at least he has so far in his career. As opposed to the bandbox he currently hits in? Im sure it really doesnt matter to him right now.
  9. I loved big league chew when I was little. I tried it last year, I was playing softball and my daughter got some at the refreshment stand. That stuff almost melted my molars. I chewed for about a sec and it was just too sweet anymore. My favorite candy when i was a kid? Probably Bit o' Honey and Superope.
  10. Big Jason Stark insider article on ESPN right now detailing the 10 big names to be moved, anyone have a subscription?
  11. I was under the impression that Hanley Ramirez was untouchable. I guess when your number one starter is now closing because your closer sucks and is hurt, things change.
  12. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 10:21 AM) Where did he say this?? I'd love to read the full article. Its in the Cleveland Plain Dealer. You can find the link at www.prosportsdaily.com, under the Cleveland Indians news and rumors.
  13. And Entourage is my close second. That show is really funny. Last night I was laughing my ass off when Drama was trying to get a part in a film from some spanish director by asking him in the Q&A after his showing at the Sundance Film Festival. And the fact that Turtle and Drama's "swords crossed" still has me laughing.
  14. My favorite show was put on hiatus for the summer(which really pissed me off) so that Greys Anatomy could be shown. Boston Legal. William Shatners turn as Denny Crain is awesome. He is a scene stealer, actually Candice bergen, James Spader, and William Shatner are all scene stealers in that show.
  15. hmmm, I wonder what he would have said if the Indians swept the series. "The White Sox have to be the best team we have ever faced."
  16. QUOTE(daa84 @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 08:21 AM) oh lord i would love to land any one of conor jackson, carlos quentin, stephen drew. not that any of them will be traded, at least not for shingo. Something tells me that Boras wont let Drew become part of the White Sox organization.
  17. Rowand pre and post all star break numbers 2004 pre ASB .298, 9 HR, 18 doubles, 1 triple, 21 RBI post ASB .319, 15 HR, 20 doubles, 1 triple, 48 RBI 2003 pre ASB .250, 3 HR, 28 doubles, 0 triples, 14 RBI (111 AB) post ASB .370, 3 HR, 17 doubles, 0 triples, 10 RBI (46 AB) Small sample size for Rowand, but all signs indicate he is a much better hitter after the All Star Break. Im glad that we are ready to jettison him after the year because Brian Anderson is "clearly ready for the show". LOL
  18. Somehow, I dont think this one is going to make ESPN: my my, it must be Anne's time of the month. Unfortunate for her that it coincided with a 3 game drop in the standings. I luuuuuv being fascist
  19. I think i am going to be there tomorrow too, is there going to be a soxtalk secret meeting place?
  20. I hate to interrupt your little argument here, because I think it is a fascinating argument with both sides of the spectrum represented, but I thought a little suicide handbook might help clear up some things. http://www.answers.com/topic/suicide The majority of people who commit suicide are mentally ill, but not all are mentally ill. back to your left and right -isms......
  21. Im sad that Mitch Hedberg died, but I am not surprised. The guy liked smack too much, and it finally took him. Kinda like Layne Staley. Mitch was the master of the One-Liner, that guy had me in stitches from the simplest observations. I dont know much of Soto, I am curious as to why he passed away.
  22. Bayless is a windbag. That guy hardly ever says anything worth repeating. Him and Mariotti are the same, which is funny because they argue so much when they are on PTI or ATH
  23. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 10:48 PM) Guys like Widger and Ozuna come in and get the job done...I mean, what more can be said? I luvvvv this team. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 10:08 AM) We're staring 4L right in the face. LOL, dont you luvvvv being wrong?
  24. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 01:24 AM) I don't like you. LMAO
  25. Yeah, welcome. Try not to make more repeat threads and you will fit in just fine. There is this bigass thread at the top of the page entitled "Trade thread", check it out.
