Pointing out that the taco truck driver doesn't speak English well isn't bad, coming back from the truck and saying "he lives in America he should speak the language better" or something along those lines is mean and demeaning if it were to get back to him. It tiptoes the line of racism, it has the implication. i understand what you are saying with the social implications, but at the same time he represented an organization that has hundreds of immigrants walk through the door every year and to say those comments were tone deaf is understating it to me.

I didn't attack any of those things, I don't want this to happen to Texas. I want the people actually responsible to do something about it and stop blaming the new green deal and democrats for underlying infrastructure issues that point to cost cutting and keeping profits.

I get that it's huge and has all of those resources but the entire point of all of this is Texas repeatedly tells everyone that they don't need them, and they do. Nobody would blink twice in your above scenario because all of those states could lean on each other in case of a crisis. and let's not pretend like what's happening in Texas is isolated. These 100 year events are increasing in frequency. Texas is going to recover from this and in a few months be staring at a massive hurricane coming up from the gulf. the states need each other and this just magnifies that need.

You are talking about a lot of things that don't have anything to do with your point that Bauer doesn't understand that this game is supposed to be entertaining. You clearly don't like him and that's fine, he had a history and can come off as abrasive, but he is very hands on with fans and is totally on board with the entertainment aspect. Hell, he told TA to pimp a home run if he hits one off of him.

If any mayor of Illinois said some shit like that, he/she would rightfully be raked over the coals. And it's really hard to find daylight between him and Abbott when Abbott is going on Fox News yesterday blaming the new green deal and wind turbines, and Ted Cruz and Crenshaw and Cornyn pointing and laughing at California when it was on fire, and blaming the governor instead of the private company that is at fault.

I'm actually really curious if this affects any action going forward. Knowing politicians, probably not, but this is tremendously messed up
