  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 29, 2016 -> 07:52 PM) In the end, the only thing that matters is perception. And last week didn't go well in that area. The CEO of Guaranteed Rate could spend the next year doing a volunteer trip (not to Thailand with LaRoche) with Missionaries of Charity in Kolkata, India, and it still wouldn't fix that. At any rate, In the Driver's Seat deserves more of a raise (by whoever it paying him) than Brooks Boyer. I swear, when I was home for summer vacation, the ONLY person who knew the White Sox were on in the Quad-Cities on WQAD-3 was probably me thanks to his updates (it would be one of those situations like the Astros had with technically zero viewers). I also didn't see a single bit of White Sox gear in any local shop (except for LIDS, which has EVERY team) except for one rung of Jose Abreu practice batting jerseys for sale. Unless there was a Chance the Rapper shop I wasn't aware of... I really don't agree with you at all. Perception of a corporate sponsor isn't going to keep people away, a losing team is. Not many people are going to sit there like you and say "OMG IT MIGHT BE COUNTRYWIDE BANK THEY MIGHT BE CROOKED" or talk about how the owner has a III behind his name. Fans of the sox will go to the park if the team wins.
  2. Caulfield why are you so very hard trying to turn this company into a crooked company with a crooked owner?
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 29, 2016 -> 06:30 PM) If only he did this back when he was actually good. Then people wouldn't be making fun of him with the "he'll be sitting all year on the bench" jokes. I've wondered about this from the start. What if Kaepernick just forgot to stand or didn't feel like it and is just using the oppression thing as an excuse? And now he's in too deep? I mean, it's hard to say any of this because we have no idea what his politics are or what he is about outside of the football field. Back when he was good, we didn't have this massive backlash against police and the black lives matter movement in the limelight like it is now. Sometimes people change their way of thinking and take a different path for the rest of their lives due to an event or events. We can't hold it against him because he didn't say anything before because maybe he didn't feel as strongly about it. We can only look at what he does going forward
  4. Shields will seem like he is gonna have an easy inning and then boom, two runners on, two outs, big hitter at the plate
  5. It's Kaepernicks right to sit, his message needs to be reviewed not his decision to sit. I only hope that he would continue the message and talk more about it, because it only comes off as a one time attention wanting stunt.
  6. I just saw a pic of David Dukes and that man looks Stepford-made
  7. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Aug 29, 2016 -> 02:07 PM) Per this board, Trayce is useless...4th outfielder. What, pray tell, is your objection to only trading at a steep discount? Would would you suggest paying for him? Top dollar? Top 100 prospects? Go back and look at threads from 2 years ago...you'll see plenty of suggestions of Q plus for him. .706 OPS this year. April/March .697 OPS May .955 OPS June .700 OPS July .496 OPS Aug MIA And lets not pretend you werent like he was a guaranteed +.800 OPS guy
  8. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 29, 2016 -> 11:45 AM) Having seen the NBA, NFL and NHL, I really don't see a need for MLB, especially after this decade. No one tried to buy WS more than the post 2000 yankees have tried to buy a WS. Or the Angels under Moreno. ANd they haven't. The best run organizations in the MLB have done well regardless of market or salary. The Rays did it for a while. The Rangers under Daniels and Ryan. The Cardinals forever. The Red Sox. The Dodgers, and now the Cubs. come on now.
  9. Patriots cut Terrence Knighton, Bryan Stork fails his physical which nullifies trade
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 29, 2016 -> 12:18 AM) The first three seasons are just epic. I just finished watching the episode when Demi Moore marries that fat dude because the psychic lady tell her he's about to become rich. I still vividly remember the ventriloquist episode. So messed up. It's gonna be sad when TNT reboots it and it falls short of expectations
  11. Tales From the Crypt deserves nomination, don't know that it would be best though
  12. Rodon looks super competitive out there right now too. He is getting pumped up when he gets big strikeouts
  13. http://m.chicagobears.com/news/article-ros...1d-9c18b8c157ba The Bears on Sunday reduced their roster to 80 by waiving nine players and terminating the contract of veteran fullback Darrel Young The players waived were running back Senorise Perry; receivers Kieren Duncan, Derek Keaton and Darrin Peterson; tight end Gannon Sinclair; offensive linemen John Kling and Martin Wallace; defensive lineman Keith Browner and defensive back Joel Ross.
  14. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Aug 28, 2016 -> 02:34 PM) I'm sure the Sox will but I doubt he makes it past NL. Isn't it opposite league first?
  15. QUOTE (raBBit @ Aug 27, 2016 -> 07:54 PM) 100%. Fortunately, the wisdom teeth removal and root canal never bothered me. I got my wisdom removed on a Saturday morning, coached baseball in the afternoon and drank that night. My sister got them out and she was in bed for multiple days. I was sore but back to school after a day. My mom was all bruised up, looked like someone punched her in the jaw. She missed a week of work
  16. QUOTE (harkness @ Aug 27, 2016 -> 07:50 PM) Avi is being way more patient and driving the ball. If he can keep right where he has been for a while he can be solid. How many times have we said this exact sentence
  17. I guess Shaw went immediately to emergency surgery, it must have been really ugly
