QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 11:34 AM) Did the same thing with emission test notices for cars. Waited 45 minutes in line at the Schaumburg emissions place for a 2 minute check. Unreal. That place is a madhouse. I went on a Tuesday at 10 am once and waited an hour

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 4, 2016 -> 04:47 PM) Abreu constantly getting jammed by inside and low heat...can't turn on it yet. Sale hasn't been using his best fastball for the last 2-3 games. Has been topping out closer to 94-95 than his customary 97-98 mph for big situations. That's been all season, dude

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 05:58 PM) That's actually pretty impressive, that he could pick up on that with Beckham, Viciedo, Brian Anderson and Josh Fields while being stone-cold drunk half the time. He wasn't drunk at the park during work time, Caulfield. It wasn't like he was managing trashed

6/3 Game Thread - White Sox @ Tigers
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 05:40 PM) Because they prefer to wait until he cools off...bring him up...then they argue they were justified in not bringing him up because he wasn't ready? The same thing happened with Viciedo one year, Ozzie wanted to keep Juan Pierre in an everyday role "because he worked harder than everyone else on the team and was universally-liked and admired for his career achievements." And at least TIMO PEREZ could hit K-ROD!!! Or, maybe Ozzie saw before anyone else that Viciedo was incapable of adjusting to major league pitching.

More Historical Perspective
QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 03:35 PM) So why aren't we saying that Cleveland isn't going to win the division or doesn't deserve to win the division because they are 2-4 against the Twins? Why not say that the Royals don't deserve it if they are going to go 1-3 against the Indians thus far? Or 1-3 against the under .500 Yanks and 0-3 against the last place Angels? The Indians and Royals aren't exactly juggernauts, here. Yes, the Royals are playing much better of late, but both teams have had wildly inconsistent stretches and shown plenty of weaknesses. So have the Sox. I'm call it about even in early June. I hope you're being hyperbolic when you say the White Sox absolutely need to win a series in Detroit this weekend. They may win 3, they may lose 3, they may win or lose 2. It will likely have little bearing on the strategy or the overall standings. No one is going to run away and hide with this division. The composition of this team will drastically change WHEN (not if) the front office acquires players to make their run later this summer. It's likely we won't have the same rotation, daily lineup, or bench. We will likely be much improved, if we can remain injury free. So yes, we will have a much better time beating the Royals and Indians when we are actually sporting a Major League Designated hitter, a deeper bench, and a more seasoned rotation. Additionally, Rodon and Saladino are good examples of players that are apparently benefiting from seasoning on the job, and may be better as we go on. Wouldn't you agree? Would you say that they might be more reliable major league pieces in September than they were in April? Because there are so many teams in the AL that are still in it, it's likely that the White Sox will not acquire all of their pieces until potentially late July or early August, when some teams finally give up. I think I'll wait until then to start proclaiming certain series "must win" Caulfield? No, never

2015-2016 NBA Thread
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 08:21 AM) J4L already rolling out the "LeBron has/had no chance because of Golden State's depth" line. Well, maybe that will be the spin from his camp, but will history tell this time period as the torch passing from LeBron to a new generation of "drive, dish or shoot" assassins whose accuracy and teamwork/passing from the outside is going to force the 3 point line to be moved back again in order to balance things out once more (increased focus on defense, traditional block and rebound centers, more driving to the basket and drawing fouls, less European)...??? He actually didn't say they don't have a chance, he said they must win game 2 in order to have a chance

6/1 Games
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jun 2, 2016 -> 04:46 PM) In over 700 at bats, Jason Bourgeois has never hit a lick in the majors. He's been awful. But he has a key trait that this front office highly values, and which the others don't have: he's 34 and has played in 7 major league seasons. You should get some cheese for that whine, since you have it so much

Food, Food and more Food
QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 2, 2016 -> 09:14 AM) So I have been looking into these and they seem to have good reviews everywhere. Only $320 for smoker and grill is a great price. There were a lot of reviews on amazon and they gave it 4 1/2 stars and most people gushed over how much they love the thing. I think I may just buy one. They looked like the big green egg, just red
