    Wait, Jenks just so happened to walk into the room in time to see the exact scene that we are all talking about. And he trashes it? Let me find my surprised face, it is around here somewhere
  2. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 26, 2015 -> 03:50 PM) If you do a search online and try to find evidence of innocent bystanders being killed by some hero vigilante, you'd be hard pressed to find many stories. I am having just as difficult of a time finding stories of hero vigilantes stopping mass murders. weird how that works QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 26, 2015 -> 03:07 PM) 1) Better to live with yourself for making a tragic mistake than risk not being alive anymore to worry about anything. and I assume you would be cool if that was your own kid that a vigilante killed. No big deal, just collateral damage?
  3. @jkatzenstein: The Lions are firing offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi and offensive line coaches Jeremiah Washburn and Terry Heffernan.
  4. Just curious, if someone steps up with their own gun and things get crazy and innocent bystanders are killed by the guy defending himself, are you ok with that? Greg, you see someone come in and pull out a gun and threaten people, and you have your gun with you, pull it out and nervously point and shoot and accidentally hit the wrong person because you are so scared and nervous and anxious, like most people would be in that situation, would you be able to live with yourself? Just the sort of thing that runs through my head when i am thinking about everyone packing and anyone playing the hero. A teacher gets his gun out and blows away my kid while defending the class from a guy trying to kill them all. Not every situation is bad guy against good guy
  5. QUOTE (shipps @ Oct 26, 2015 -> 01:02 PM) The beat writers didnt even report that anything happened until the next day. It seems like they are trying to get into some good graces with a regime that is withholding a bunch of information from the get go of this season. So I don't really think any party that was there is going to give a real accurate story to the public of what happened. Its all fishy to me. The beat reporters have very little inside info so far. This regime is as a pretty tight circle

    QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Oct 26, 2015 -> 09:09 AM) If it's "not true", the show took such a cheap route in shocking people. Yea, if that turns out to be some sort of a dream sequence I will be extremely disappointed.
  7. Don't dare to sully the good name of KC, the knight in shining armor caulfield will defend her honor with a duel that you shall not win This will be a duel of writing lots of stuff and suppositions and declaring KC to be the best there ever was the end
  8. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Oct 24, 2015 -> 04:50 PM) I'd do Q for both. Ugh that's terrible, q is far more valuable
  9. This morning Levine was suggesting Quintana for Baez or Soler straight up
  10. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 7, 2015 -> 10:12 PM) You are all hero worshippers!!! Hero worship! We don't need heros! We need maybes! Trade away the players that are close to heros for lots of maybes! That's how you win!

  13. And that is coming from Sundquist, not some random source. Knowing how McDaniels got himself run out of town in a year makes me laugh after reading that
  14. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 01:47 PM) Pssh, no way. Disney put 500 storm troopers on the great wall of china the other day. You're not doing those massive, global events with Star Trek. Trek has faded a bit, but they have been having conventions since 1972, before Star Wars was even a Lucas thought. You could give them credit for cosplay, there are movies and documentaries and spoofs(galaxy quest) dedicated to their Trekkies. There has also been multiple long running TV shows based on Star Trek that have all gone into syndication. Just because Disney is dumping a ton of money into their product doesn't lessen the impact of the Trek fandom. Trek just stopped making movies that people wanted to see
  15. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 01:12 PM) Lost made sense to me because there was so much mystery and theorizing. It was perfect water cooler entertainment. Walking Dead and Game of Thrones fill two genres (apocalypse/survival and fantasy). I wasn't meaning to say that I don't get why people like Star Wars or why people find it interesting. It's more the intensity of the fandom I don't get. To the point where people will supposedly spend thousands or tens of thousands just to see the movie when it premieres. There's an obsession to it that really is unrivaled. Star Trek is pretty close in obsession, if not equal
  16. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 12:29 PM) UZR is nowhere near as harsh about him and I mean, I watch the guy and I dont see anything wrong. He makes the plays he's supposed to and occasionally the one's he's not. He's developed a reputation for being an airhead amongst Cubs fans but as a White Sox fan I'm an expert on airheads and the guy seems to get a bad rap. I think the perception on him is misguided and has a lot to do with his appearance. I'm not saying trade Quintana for him, but if you can some weasel your way into a deal that brings him here I'd be properly excited. Actually his reputation is that he doesn't make the ones he is supposed to make because of focus issues. If he was such an above average defender, Maddon wouldn't have moved him to second
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 10:32 AM) Interested to see the Dodgers with a capable manager QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 11:59 AM) Buster Olney ‏@Buster_ESPN 6m6 minutes ago Gabe Kapler a serious frontrunner to be the Dodgers manager, as they begin the process.
  18. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 09:10 AM) How does either Rizzzo or Matt Williams still have a job? Ummm Matt Williams doesn't have a job
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 09:17 AM) And yet you fail to understand the White Sox are never going to approach being an average offense without adding 2-3 position players for a starting pitcher. We have just struggled through three wasted, nearly unwatchable seasons. 2016 will be another. The White Sox won't sign Gordon, Heyward, Cespedes, Zobrist, Upton, Wieters or Chris Davis. I guess we can return to this conversation at midseason in 2017, assuming Chris is still 100% healthy. How am i failing to understand that by saying that your trade idea is totally bunk and destroys the value that Sale possesses? Everything in this above post is assumption that you post as fact
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 08:44 AM) No no no. It was Schwarber, Baez and Soler originally. Kyle then said that would be the worst trade in Sox history basically. Because it is. You somehow seem to fail to understand Sale's worth in your eagerness to list out all of the cubs minor leaguers that you know and here is your original quote, since you seem to be re-imagining it QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 05:44 PM) The problem is Chris Sale is still an assumed health risk to many. Expecting Bryant and Russell back in a trade is completely unrealistic. You will get Baez and/or Castro. Other than Baez, Schwarber and Soler, there's just no way you get three guys who can hit 30-40 homers at the mlb level back for Sale. The White Sox can't wait forever on prospects...they need players one year or less away from the majors, or younger players who have begun to establish themselves a bit. It won't happen simply because the Cubs can buy whatever pitching they want and trade some of those players at peak value. Fwiw, Schwarber would seem perfect for the AL and Sox specifically. Which of course means he would end up a total bust. Basically you are saying "The Cubs dont need to give their top prospects to the Sox for a top 3 pitcher in the game. They just need to give a position-less DH, a outfielder that is constantly injured and cant play in the cold, and a infielder that might strike out more than adam dunn but he will hit some homeruns. Oh, these guys MIGHT hit 30-40 homeruns"
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 08:38 AM) Where did I say that? Jesus. I said Schwarber, Baez and Soler. Just to pacify you, it was amended to Russell, Schwarber and Baez/Soler. As soon as we ask for Russell instead, that will be the end of the discussion. And yet quite a few want to trade for 3-4 completely unproven minor leaguers from the Red Sox system that they've never even seen play...and Moncada isn't even one of them. Oh thank you for pacifying me be trying to make your trade a little more believable. Consider me pacified And to the bolded, where is this and who cares
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 08:22 AM) Too bad the fans were mostly gone by then. The Cubs need to flip someone for pitching. If you cannot take advantage of the wind blowing out at Wrigley with a lineup of strikeout or homer guys you may want to bolster that weak rotation. Hammel and Hendricks are not guys you want starting in the playoffs. Caulfield is trading Baez and Soler straight up for Sale, they will be fine
  23. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 10:01 PM) Don't take advice from littlehurt So close
  24. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 05:44 PM) The problem is Chris Sale is still an assumed health risk to many. Expecting Bryant and Russell back in a trade is completely unrealistic. Which of course means he would end up a total bust. Expecting top prospects for Sale is not unrealistic, you have to pay to play and if the sox should (God forbid) decide to trade sale, they better get top prospects and not second tier prospects like you are saying. This is all conjecture garbage that favors the Cubs in the deal, not equal and and certainly not the sox. If the Cubs don't want to part with top talent for top talent, you move on, you don't give them a top three pitcher for players they don't need. And the other point about being afraid of injury and of the 2017 market is just as much crap. pitchers get injured, it's the way the game goes. You don't trade a player for fear of injury or because the market might be bad. Chris sale is a diamond chip and you act like the sox are ready to throw him on the table because they don't like the color of the chip
