QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 12, 2016 -> 10:19 AM) I think people are just wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy overthinking this whole Star Wars thing. It is fun harmless speculation. I think we are all just happy that Snoke isn't Jar Jar

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 01:25 PM) Right, but I think the rebranding is intended to send the message that these guys started from scratch. The Sith were destroyed, and sometime within the 25 years that followed, somebody decided to rebuild from nothing. Snoke may have relational connections (we know Kylo Ren does), but I don't buy that any of them were directly trained by Sidious, Vader or any other previous Sith. It is possible that Palpatine began training Snoke when he sensed that Vader was starting to waiver in his beliefs, it would not be the first time he found a trainee in secret. Im leaning towards a fresh story for Snoke though. There are traces of Sith across the galaxy, i wouldnt rule out a sith ghost presence guiding them along
  3. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 04:38 PM) The real question to me is will we bring in a QB coach and if so, who. Our own SoCalSox says Mike Groh and Dave Ragone are under consideration
  4. I think me and my brother watched Encino Man through 4 different VHS tapes. Such a bad funny movie but I was like 14 years old, my comedy expectations were low
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 12:20 PM) Not me, Ben is awesome. LOL, where did you go to college Rock?
  6. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 09:28 AM) I really got into Bowie in the last two years. Some of the 60s/70s acts were too much like reading a textbook (i.e. were supposed to know them) and never did catch up. Then I actually listened to Low after getting into the stooges, and then went backwards and forward. The thing with Bowie is he had so much associated with his theatricality that if you weren't there, it's lost how freaking good his albums were. Also, I think the idea of this guy that brought trends to the forefront wasn't really that cool if growing up in 90s/nirvana era. Now I think it's so amazing that one guy can like, bring all of Japanese fashion to the west like Marco Polo just 40 years ago. Stuff that can't ever happen again. Also, he just seemed to always support artists in a way that other big acts didn't. He was a really cool person I'm glad I lived when he lived. I saw him tour with Nine Inch Nails back in 95. Its really incredible to think how many artists were influenced by him. Marilyn Manson called "Mechanical Animals" his ode to Ziggy Stardust
  7. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 08:43 AM) I LOVED The Game. Was so sad when it went off the air. Hated that channel. Any radio station that features Kaplan and Haugh as their superstars is garbage in my book
  8. Iirc he won the Score contest to be an on air talent. He also jumped to the Game which was an unfortunate decision
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 10, 2016 -> 10:33 PM) http://ftw.usatoday.com/2015/11/nfl-tv-rat...f-local-markets Despite Donald Trump calling the NFL "soft" and the movie Concussion, not going anywhere soon...pretty incredible set of ratings facts and figures for the NFL broadcasts. PS: There was a good idea about MLB moving at least one of their weekend World Series or Championship Series games to that 4 p.m. EST start, especially on a Sunday. Did you honestly think that Concussion and Donald Trump were going to affect the playoff ratings?
  10. RIP Ziggy Stardust
  11. All four road teams win first round
  12. Guys guys guys, Desmond isn't signing until June at an extremely prorated amount. Let's just forget about him until then
  13. I'm still in disbelief at how that went down last night. 30 yards in two penalties with the game on the line. Lewis should get fired, finally. But he wont
  14. Powerball is estimated 1.3 billion dollars right now
  15. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 9, 2016 -> 07:07 PM) Things I'd do to see Eric Berry and Sean Smith in the Bears secondary. Both free agents at seasons end... Unrestricted?
  16. If you trust in Bowdens sources, then you deserve to be misled
  17. @ken_rosenthal #Tigers continue to monitor outfield and bullpen markets, sources tell me and @jonmorosi. Complementary pieces, most likely.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 11:07 AM) Rose has never gotten star calls. He doesn't put on the acting show that other stars put on to get those calls either. The crazy thing is he has always gotten fouled a LOT harder than the guys acting it out. I still vividly remember Dwight Howard knocking him out of the air
  19. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 11:28 AM) TDKR is not only the best Batman film, but its one of the best movies of the decade and to come out in recent memory. The film got a lukewarm reception because after TDK came out in 2008 people sarted writing the sequel in their head (I am scared that Episode 8 is going to suffer a similar fate) and when TDKR came out and it was not what they imagined, people were disappointed. When you criticize something, especially art you are supposed to judge on what it is, you never judge something on what its not it what you wanted it to be. Another thing that turned people away from the movie was the Aurora incident. TDKR is a better film than TDK, but when you compare the two you have to remember that they are very different movies. BB is an adventure movie, TDK is a crime thriller, while TDKR is a post apocalyptic war film. I could go on but TDKR is just better. This is just ridiculous, people didnt like it less because of the Aurora incident. Maybe less people would have seen it in theatres(which obviously didnt happen because the film made plenty of money) but it has zero effect on the criticism.
  20. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 11:52 AM) The Giants are MLB's version of the New England Patriots. All time great coach and GM duo (In NE they happen to be the same person). A couple great players (Bumgarner/Posey, Brady/Gronk) and a supporting cast stocked with good players. Annual contender. more like every other year contender
  21. Didnt Gary Sheffield fire Boras because he cost him some money?
  22. QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 09:06 AM) I didn't know Boers was retiring. Wow, when did they announce that one? hasnt been announced, but he has been hinting that he is just about done for a while now. Plus, he has been working from his home studio for a while, doesnt like to travel much anymore for work, and gets paid a lot. Its time, for both parties
  23. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 08:28 AM) And was more useless than Avi last year. two years ago he was more useful than Avi has ever been, though
