  1. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jan 30, 2016 -> 10:57 AM) Neither Turner nor Beck have anywhere near the credentials of E Johnson. They need to develop depth, but it also appears they don't trust Johnson (and he's not a Cooper guy). Maybe he's the one they should trade for a young OF. Eric Johnson has credentials? Jacob Turner was the 9th overall pick of the 09 draft, so apparently he was seen as someone with a lot of promise. Both players came to the majors and s*** the bed. Not really sure why you think Johnson is so much better of a prospect. Turner at least had a decent 20 starts a few years ago
  2. Hawk is only concerned with one stat, and that is TWTW
  3. QUOTE (The Gooch @ Jan 29, 2016 -> 01:14 PM) Samardja also had 15 quality starts last year if we are using that as the measure of success. Samardzija was also supposed to be a #2, Danks is a 5th Starter
  4. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jan 29, 2016 -> 09:40 AM) I don't mind Rogers but Levine, just can't stand the guy. To me it seems like if Levine writes about a possible trade, its the kiss of death and likely won t happen. Yea but when Rogers writes about a trade it is usually straight from fantasy land
  5. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 29, 2016 -> 09:08 AM) I've read a few cases like this before and it's almost always a mental breakdown that leads to acting irrationality and a death or just a flat out suicide (Michael Hastings was a popular one). Not saying that happened here. Would love to read more about it. Here is some more info. This is actually pretty sickening. Seems like the guy stumbled onto a scam http://fresnopeoplesmedia.com/2016/01/2829/
  6. http://thefreethoughtproject.com/activist-...cted-cops-kill/ Tangentially related, this man predicted his own death and said multiple times it would be at the hands of the Fresno police
  7. all the lefties?
  8. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jan 28, 2016 -> 10:54 AM) Edited the title to make it seem more like a proposal then a done thing to avoid any confusion. shysocks is a snakeoil salesman like that. you gotta watch him close

Ammon Bundy told the remaining people to go home, we will see if they do
  11. Pissed, yes. Shocked, no.
  12. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 27, 2016 -> 11:58 AM) To be fair, covering a cat in oil and throwing it in a fire is pretty sick. But yes, I agree with you guys that it did sound like the judge was including the rape. The more I continue to read on this I'm starting to convince myself that he indeed might be innocent. I still have no idea to be honest. absolutely it was. And the bar robbery was just straight up dumb. But if you think about it, there was no "progression". He burned the cat, robbed the bar, spent 18 years in jail for a rape he didnt commit, then supposedly murdered someone on the day he was due to get a county pay out. That is 20 years between crimes(if he actually murdered Halbach)
  13. I really was irritated during sentencing when the judge said that Averys crimes progressively got worse. The way he framed it, it seemed as if he was including that rape that he was exonerated from in the progression

Ammon Bundys brother Ryan was shot, and another member, Lavoy Fincicum was killed. Fincicum previously stated he will not be arrested and will not go to jail, but Bundy is claiming his hands were in the air when he was shot. http://www.cnn.com/2016/01/26/us/oregon-wi...ests/index.html
  15. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jan 27, 2016 -> 08:01 AM) They do have inside information on his injury history. He isn't valuable if he isn't on the field. That doesnt mean you let him walk

  17. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 26, 2016 -> 09:36 AM) Um, they have played one of the weakest schedules in the entire country (337 out of 351 per Kenpom, RPI isn't as good of an indicator but they are 291 there as well). you should see the past few years where they pretty much actually played the sisters of the poor. Im not expecting a run in the tournament or even to make the tournament, but for the first time in a long time they have a good chance at some form of post season play. You gotta start somewhere after bottoming out
  18. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Jan 26, 2016 -> 09:43 AM) Not so much that. They have basically signed Stan Bowman to the time where it will be up to him to rebuild this when all his players are past his prime. Seems only appropriate he ride this out. That wasn't directed at you fwiw
  19. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jan 26, 2016 -> 08:12 AM) Hawks sign Stan Bowman to 3-year extension certain people wonder what he has done to deserve the extension
  20. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jan 26, 2016 -> 08:07 AM) The fact that we still don't really run Hoiberg's offense is pretty alarming. ISO offense FTW
  21. Salukis are 18-3. It isnt like they have been world beaters(they got smoked by Wichita St), but their schedule hasnt been sisters of the poor either. It doesnt make sense but it has been fun so far
  22. QUOTE (The Critic @ Jan 25, 2016 -> 07:34 PM) I think he comes back too often, actually. The reaction to him is less every time he returns. I do believe he enjoys putting the other guys over, and he respects the business enough to put his ego aside. I heard one of his shoot interviews once and he talked about Hall putting him over in WCW even though Bischoff nixed it. You could tell he really appreciated what Hall did for him
  23. QUOTE (The Critic @ Jan 25, 2016 -> 07:18 PM) In other news, Jericho continues his "put the new guy over tour 2016" when he faces AJ Styles tonight. I think he enjoys putting the new guys over because it gives him flexibility to go away and do fozzy then come back and nobody is tired of him
  24. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 25, 2016 -> 06:18 PM) Anyone else find it interesting that the Bears are meeting with a lot of WRs? They met with Braxton Miller today. If they let Alshon walk, I'm gonna go crazy. They won't let him walk, that is moronic. I think they want to make sure they have depth and never have to go out there with Bellamy, Mariani and Meredith ever again
  25. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 25, 2016 -> 01:42 PM) As a 30 year old coming off an almost 7 WAR season he settles for 3 years $75 million. If he opts out next year after being paid $27.5 million, can he get another 3 year $75 million contract as a 31 year old if he puts up a 3 WAR season? That deferral must have been huge. Well DA, this is an interesting quote you used of mine
