QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 8, 2014 -> 10:49 AM) It's gotta kill Marvel that they don't have control of some of their characters. Could you imagine what they would be doing right now if they had Spiderman, Xmen, and Fantastic 4? This Avengers universe story would be insane

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 8, 2014 -> 10:05 AM) I think most of the movies in the Avengers universe have been pretty good, Iron Man 2 and Iron Man 3 were just ok. Just about everything outside of it has been either bad or just ok. People always talk about how bad Green Lantern was, but look at Hulk(2003), Spider-Man 3 and X-Men 3. Those were just as bad if not worse. I dont include those because those arent Marvel productions, those are Sony and Fox. The Ang Lee Hulk was pretty bad

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 8, 2014 -> 09:34 AM) They haven't done as well as Marvel, but it's not like Marvel hasn't made awful movies. Within the Avengers universe storyline, there hasnt been any awful movies IMO. There have been a few that leave a lot to be desired(Hulk, Thor 1), but even those movies look amazing compared to Green Lantern. I didnt hate Man of Steel, but the Snyder effect really bothers me.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 8, 2014 -> 08:04 AM) Even before they got to that point, they wrote and put out a pair of good movies that set the stage for everything else. Key word being good. Did you watch that special a few weeks ago about how Marvel got to where they are? It was pretty awesome how it came together. Tony Starks after credit scenes with both Fury and Thunderbolt in Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk were originally just kind of fun, and it put everything into hyperdrive

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 8, 2014 -> 07:44 AM) DC is so lost. They are trying to do something to compete with Marvel, but they cant figure it out. The funny thing is, it isnt like Marvel has hidden the secret. It is right there in front of you, they created a long storyboard, probably with a lot of flexibility, and have mapped out their stories with the comic storylines as a guide. DC has plenty of storylines that they can get into with Justice League. Nolan used The Long Halloween and Knightfall as his guide, The Man of Steel used the new 52 Superman origin as inspiration. I just think BvS is such a massive leap for them, with no established properties in between.
  8. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 8, 2014 -> 02:01 AM) The crowd reactions to Bryan are bringing me back to wrestling all by themselves. Last nights crowd was awesome, for everything. It was like the March 3rd Chicago show where everyone thought Punk was gonna show

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 8, 2014 -> 04:20 AM) And after Winter Soldier, Batman vs. Superman against Captain America 3 is a lose-lose for DC. Originally BvS was set to go up against Avengers 2, then it was pushed back. Then marvel was like "haha, NOPE"
  10. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 09:11 PM) Who had the idea to give him a live mic? Eh, it was fine, he didn't go too bats*** insane and he was very appreciative of the fans
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 08:54 PM) That's what they get for betting on pro wrestling. No s***, you offer odds on a scripted event you deserve to lose
  12. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 08:29 PM) Are you kidding? People were salivating over picking him up. I am pretty positive multiple people were saying he would be the pick up of the year. Many people look to be disappointed. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=90722 Nothing nearly that drastic
  13. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 06:33 PM) good call, within 2 minutes had a response, now hopefully they actually come and get it Never underestimate people's desire for other peoples stuff, no matter what it is
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 07:48 PM) Looking at the stands it appears the Rockies may have to move to Portland as well. After reading that article, I couldn't help but laugh at how many times the writer said a variation of "and another problem is...."

  19. I wonder if it was the second time he tried the hells gate when Brock picked him up and slammed him. His head really bounced that second time
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 11:48 AM) Ok, here comes my Undertaker rant. When was the last time you actually thought the streak had a chance of ending? Maybe 26, 24 with Edge? I'd say 21 vs Orton. Although his matches the past few years have been top notch, the result was never in doubt. Yes, I would've preferred a Bray, Reigns, or even Cesaro ending it, but it was Takers choice. Say Taker won and they did the Sting build up for a year. Does anyone really think Sting would end the streak? No way. Now, you could do Sting vs UT and the result isn't as predictable now that the streak is over. The match could blow though.Brock hasn't lost in a year and could be a big challenger to DB now. I would've liked for UT to retire with the streak, but I'm not pissed about it like a lot of fans. It created an effective reaction and feeling when he lost. I actually gasped and the after math was well done. Few people remember how dull the match was now. You know, I had the exact same thought last night. Sting doesnt have to worry about coming in and dropping to Taker, merely because of the weight of the Streak. It will be a match where either of them could win. Seriously though, Taker needs to get himself in better match shape if he does this next year. He looked awful, totally out of shape. When they showed his highlight package, he looked 40-50 lbs heavier
  21. Was that Daniel Bryans sister and niece that jumped in the ring with him? Brie Bella tweeted that she wasnt allowed to join him in the ring, which i found weird
  22. I think the part of the Cena match that bothered me the most was him pretending like he was going to lose it. He couldnt even do that convincingly. It is stuff like that which makes me feel Cena will never be able to be a heel. he just isnt convincing. Always gonna be stuck right underneath face and right above heel. Hardcore wrestling fans despise him, kids love him
  23. HHH-Bryan was really good, I was glad the show started with that match Cena Wyatt was absolutely slow, plodding, and terrible, and did nothing but push Wyatts character down. How they can take Wyatt from having an amazing match win against Bryan in the rumble to that snoozefest loss against Cena is beyond me. It did absolutely nothing for either characters storyline, and actually made Cena look worse for it(if that is even possible). Taker Brock was slow and bad until the ending, which saved it because nobody saw it coming. Bottom line is, Taker obviously hasnt been training for this match, and that is sad. He looked out of shape, slow, and done. Reports are saying he did suffer a concussion and neck injury on an early spot in the match, so maybe that contributed, but still. Not an enjoyable match to watch. Im not even going to rate the womans match because. just because. Cesaro putting Show over the rope was unbelievable. Not only did he lift show up, but he made it look easy, took two steps and dumped him. That is some serious muscle, and Cesaro needs a push. NOW Final match was really good, at one point i was sideways hoping for a CM Punk save against the authority, but i am glad it didnt happen and they let Bryan win on his own. Great pop for the win. Good wrestlemania, a few quibbles on little things here and there, but in the end it was a good show.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 08:33 AM) This one actually worries me more, maybe due to the level of trust each franchise has built up. Marvel just is nailing everything, while DOFP, even though it has Singer involved, is a franchise that has only put out a solid movie on 1 of its last 4 attempts. On top of that, they're using Wolverine to drive the plot and he's been the worst-used of them all. That said, I was blown away by how much I liked X0, so maybe there's still some promise here. I just feel like I'm expecting to laugh at GOTG and find it lighthearted, crazy, and enjoyable even if not the best of the series, and DOFP is set up for me to be disappointed. I keep waffling back and forth on DoFP. One trailer and i am like "just looks like a mess", then i see another and i want to see it badly.
