I never heard that Goldberg story. I did enjoy when William Regal wrestled stiff and potatoed him during the streak, and pretty much no-sold the spear.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 8, 2014 -> 12:15 PM) I see your point, I just laugh at people that talk about B and B like it's the worst thing ever, yet somehow they never listen, never have listened, but know everything that is said on the show, good bad or indifferent. So they take their hate of Bernstein, and any opinion or anything he ever says, is wrong. As is shown with this silly "OMG HE'S A CUBS FAN BECAUSE HE SAID A NICE THING ABOUT THEO" thing we have going on right now. It isnt the worst thing ever. I just feel it could be so much better, and they have relaxed because they are pretty much undisputed. And the article he wrote, to me at least, is bothersome because it really is meant to troll, and I think he could be better than that.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 8, 2014 -> 11:01 AM) Last night it was reported that Sheamus and Sin Cara (Hunico) had some kind of altercation backstage at this week's TV tapings. According to wrestlezone.com , the fight did not take pace at this week's TV tapings. The altercation reportedly took place a few weeks ago, and news just got out this week. Sources within WWE have stated that the altercation did take place, and that if the fight had not been broken up, it could have "gotten really bad" for Sheamus. The two have reportedly cleared the air and all is now well. Meaning he would have gotten his ass beat??? If so, that is really sad for Sheamus, because he is probably twice the size of Sin Cara

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 8, 2014 -> 12:07 PM) You never listen to him, how would you know? How can you comment on something when you don't know what's said? i listen to him, and a lot of it is true. It really is sad to me that he had CBS turn off the comments sections on his articles, and it really bothers me when he hides behind "I dont care what you say, we get ratings so you dont matter" He can be funny, he can be informative, but unfortunately he has started to lean on the very idealogy that he hates, meatball thinking. He wants to make a large argumentative statement, and then refuse to allow the argument to happen. Unfortunately there is absolutely no competition to push him to be better than that, because I believe he can be(and has been) better than that.

QUOTE (bmags @ May 8, 2014 -> 09:05 AM) So fun with small sample sizes. Rizzo's great series has led to Abreu having an OPS of nearly 100 points better. Abreu's 12 HRs and 11 doubles is really kinda reminding me of a certain player in 98. *Bernstein thanks lucky stars that he disables comments on his articles*

QUOTE (raBBit @ May 7, 2014 -> 06:10 PM) I'm making a last minute decision to head down to Comiskey. Hopefully Danks doesn't have one of those 1st innings where he lets up 2-4 runs. If he does, I blame this post- 2013-2014 NHL thread
Krush, if that guy was wearing a black sweater, would you consider hunting him down and b**** slapping him? Just curious. He probably deserves it for the song- Chris Sale to start Thu May 22 vs Yankees
@scottmerkin: Chris Sale threw his second bullpen today. The biggest thing is he remains pain-free- Bernstein Column
QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 7, 2014 -> 02:56 PM) Agreed, but his ego has reached Mike North proportions where he will never allow it. Too bad because Bernstein was very good when he first started. I dont know that he wouldnt allow it now. Maybe a few years more of him and Boers will give him balls to call the shots, but I still think if you got Goff in there, you would see a different Bernstein immediately. I would like to say Abbattacola would be there too, but MA really falls in line with Bernstein when it comes to callers and opinions when they are together.- Bernstein Column
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 7, 2014 -> 01:32 PM) I agree, and I wish they'd filter through to put more "smart" fans on the air. They do get the idiots on there, and most of them deserve to be blasted. When B and B actually talk hard core sports, they talk it at a very high level. They know how to watch a game. Their highest level of sports talk is above anyone else in this town that is on the air. Although some of the best B and B is when they aren't talking sports, it's hilarious radio. You're right in that not having Boers would probably keep him more in check, and he's probably gotten worse in the last 5 years. I get his point on this article, and I think he was also emphasizing Dunn's season so far even though more people are jumping into the Rizzo stuff because there was more ink about it. His last 2 paragraphs are really what you need to see, just take a step back sometimes to evaluate what's going on, the numbers, and not jump to ignorant conclusions about it. I think the what I disagree with most about the article is that he is evaluating Rizzo and Abreu in the same small sample size, but not bringing Rizzos previous year into the conversation. Rizzo started off pretty hot last season IIRC, and fell off hardcore.- Bernstein Column
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 7, 2014 -> 12:57 PM) He is a lot like Hawk Harrelson in this regard. which is ironic, considering his absolute dislike for Hawk- Bernstein Column
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 7, 2014 -> 12:14 PM) I guess I shouldn't be shocked at the replies coming from a Sox message board, or people that can't look at numbers/something objectively instead of their hate for Bernstein. The article was pretty simple. Talked about how Abreu is good, Rizzo is good, and hell, even Dunn has been good this year. But that only Abreu is getting any attention. I listen to B&B pretty much everyday because I want my sports fix, and they do have good content, but even you have to admit that Bernsteins arrogance and dismissive nature towards anyone with a contradictory opinion has really skyrocketed in the last 5 or so years. You either call in and agree with him, or he screams at you and hangs up, then makes fun of you for the rest of the show for daring to have a different opinion. Even his coworkers have been calling him out on it. The score puts through a lot of dumb callers for sure, but there are people with good things to say and he simply does not let them. What Bernstein needs is to be rid of Boers, because he needs a strong voice on the other side that will keep him in check. - White Sox Winner!!!
