The purple shell is pretty brutal, but i still love it
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 26, 2013 -> 10:45 AM) And as I have pointed out, they aren't going to be able to free up the money most think they can free up even if they dump a ton. The other problem is, even if they can agree to a sign and trade, wintering in Chicago doesn't seem to hold much appeal to NBA players. The Bulls only hope IMO is if Rose comes back as the Derrick Rose we saw win an MVP. Then many of the problems are solved. Its not going to be a one step process, it certainly isnt as easy as merely tanking the season and trading players
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 26, 2013 -> 10:37 AM) The problem is he will still probably be too good to let them be real bad, and too expensive to let them add a max or near max guy. They should start trying to re-build, but they have a lot of stuff in their way. decisions have to be made, players have to be moved. You dont sit there and worry "what if Mirotic isnt a star?" and "what if Rose isnt the same?". You start freeing up money and trying to build from the floor up. This front office got into the trouble they are in by over valuing their core and being unwilling to change it.
  4. I cant wait for "Lazy Booking!" when Cena unifies the titles, lol
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 26, 2013 -> 09:54 AM) Why wouldn't he on that team in that system? You think he's gonna just suddenly say, "f*** off LeBron, this is my team." LOL, i could totally see Beasley saying "My time now. Ball is in my hands, shoot" because that is what he has done his entire career He probably wont, but i could see it happening
  6. QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 26, 2013 -> 09:45 AM) We didn't let him go for nothing, we let him go in order to not pay him $15 million next year. I think it is presumptuous to say that we didn't try to sign him or arrange an S&T it isnt presumptious at all. They spent all season saying they planned on signing him after the season, he hit the market and was immediately signed to a poison pill contract. They had the entire season to sign him and chose not to, then were unable to because of the Houston contract. This is on the Bulls front office.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 26, 2013 -> 09:18 AM) Asik wouldn't have been a starter here either. Noah and Boozer would have. That is perfectly fine, but in reality with Noahs injury issues last season Asik would have been starting for a good portion of the year. And in the end, Asik signed for less years and less money than Gibson. Like I said, they let an asset walk away for absolutely nothing. No sign and trade, no attempt to sign him. Nothing.
  8. QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 26, 2013 -> 08:39 AM) I'm not really a fan of Asik and the Gibson deal isn't horrible, but I think we could have kept him more cheaply if we let him reach the open market. I know that we want him on the team under most circumstances, but the money takes away from otherwise really good cap position. You dont have to be a fan of Asik, he was an asset that they let walk for nothing. And Gibson is getting paid starter money as a 6th man, while this team is snug against the cap with no wiggle room. The way the whole thing broke down pissed me off. You dont spend all season saying you are going to re-sign Asik and then let him sign a poison pill deal like that. And even worse, Asik became more than a mere serviceable player last season.
  9. QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 26, 2013 -> 08:18 AM) In a league where you're essentially just waiting for a superstar to make your team good, GarPax have done a really good job of leaving us in a position where we should have some talent around. Butler, Mirotic, Charlotte 1st, perhaps Snell, plus the higher earner Gibson are all nice pieces to have around when you're building the team back up. Gibson is probably the worst recent move. Losing Asik for nothing combined with all the money thrown at Gibson is the worst recent move
  10. Anyone see the special "The Town that caught Tourrette's"? Terrifying

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Nov 26, 2013 -> 01:47 AM) Other than the 2 staring actors, what's interesting about this show? Maybe I'm missing the storyline, but it just seems like a show about 2 detectives who solve murders, possibly a serial killer? There is nothing to it, just a show about 2 detectives that solve murders, and possibly a serial killer.

  13. K.C. Johnson (KCJHoop): Bulls having walkthrough. Hearing Tony Snell starting to keep Dunleavy/Hinrich off bench together is on table.
  14. @danwiederer: Jay Cutler tells @WaddleandSilvy that he'd be very disappointed if he wasn't under center Dec. 9 vs. Dallas.
  15. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 04:22 PM) Well, I said IF our money was shared, but it's not. And what do you mean? How does it work, then? If you're referring to the Bulls not being able to afford Melo, they could just amnesty Boozer and let Deng walk. LOL! whoa now, lets step back from this madness
  16. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 03:41 PM) Here's the problem, about 10 teams (most in east) are going to really stop giving a damn in feb-april. The Bulls with Thibs will never stop caring. So we may be an awful team that suddenly has a surging second half that puts us in at 7 or 8 seed. i dont even think they will need a surge, I think they will just hang around at the 7-8 seed all season. Unless ALL of the toys are removed from the toybox

I thought it was decent but could have been better. I wish "shaky camera" style would be banned from cinema forever and ever
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 02:12 PM) Where are the reports? MY GUY!!!

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 01:35 PM) My expectations on this show have been lowered quite a bit. The governor storyline is very forced this year. It should have been intermingled more throughout the season. It seems like as the season was going nowhere they decided, hey lets do this, AGAIN. I actually thought the Governor storyline was an interesting sidebar to the current story. And looking at the upcoming week preview, I like what I saw. I have a feeling some significant characters are gonna bite the dust next week. Hopefully not Darryl, but I think that would be a shock that people would hate and love
  21. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 12:35 PM) You guys should really stop dreaming about a top 3 pick. Thibs would drag 12 d-league players to 30 wins and Stern retired. Also, the bottom of the league is horrid. By the time they found decent trades for Deng and Boozer, they would already have too many wins. Also, no one is giving you a lottery pick this year unless you kidnap their children. Even then, they would REALLY need to care about that kid. Lastly, the Wiz already traded their first Quin (top 12 protected I think). DONT TELL ME WHAT I AM ALLOWED TO DREAM ABOUT MMK?!?
  22. yea at this point what are you gonna do? McCown is clearly doing very well in the offense, its the defense that is having the problems. Let him heal it up, and decide what you want to do in the offseason
  23. QUOTE (chisoxfan310 @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 12:54 PM) I just saw that Jones got DFA'd. You think Pittsburgh would have any interest in Adam Dunn as a platoon partner with Gaby Sanchez? People will probably say that Jones is poor man's Adam Dunn, but Dunn actually would homer and get on-base more. Maybe Dunn plus cash for (?)? Then we could slide Viciedo into the DH/1B role and get a more athletic outfielder to play center or left. Dunn would be an expensive platoon for Pittsburgh. That team isnt exactly free spending
  24. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 12:30 PM) This can go in the NBA thread too. And every White Sox game thread in 2013

Was interesting to see Miley Cyrus getting a standing ovation at the AMAs for a bizarre performace which basically stated "I am miley cyrus and i want to be naked and do lsd and smoke pot all day long"
