  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 10, 2010 -> 02:31 PM) The 16th Man was definitely a great watch. Now I probably don't have to go see Invictus now either. I had no idea that the white population of South Africa was under 10% of the country. With all of the racism and apartheid that was going on, I assumed that there were many more whites there, with all the control they had as well. I missed the last 30 for 30 on S. Africa, but will try to catch it. I've loved the series so far. Seen everyone except fantasy baseball and S. Africa. Not sure hoe Ice Cube's one this week "straight outta L.A. will be. The Raiders taking over L.A. didn't seem that big to me at the time.
  2. I've been trying to learn as much as possible on the Kadeem Jack kid that looks to be very close to skiping his planed prep school year to head to UNC since the twins have left. From what I've gathered he has only played about 4 years organized basketball and had some big time numbers in big time tournaments this year against top big men. Seem as a 4 star type with a big up side from scouts. Already top notch rebounder and shot blocker, who scored about 15 a game in NYC area. Anybody else who may have seen him play? It seems that UNC offered this weekend, and now Jack has officially said he has/is reconsidering his previous decision to attend a prep school next year.
  3. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ May 6, 2010 -> 07:36 AM) Wear twins transferring from UNC. Good in the long run, but really crappy for next year. Looks like Kadeem Jack, a long 6'8 shot blocker, with a ton of upside will join the Heels to help replace the Wear twins departure. He was planing on going to prep school, but not that his "dream school" Carolina has coma a calling it looks like Mr. Jack will be headed to Carolina.
  4. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 07:13 PM) Craziest rumor of the day? Harrison Barnes possibly reconsidering Iowa State. Beyond laughable!!!!!! Harrison is ALL Blue Heaven!!!!!
  5. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 08:04 AM) In particular, South/Central America and West Africa Those European futball "hooligans" had a very violent run for a long time there.
  6. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 10:45 AM) Never really thought about where fantasy sports came from. Interesting. They had a good article on the group of guys that started it in ESPN the magazine that I read. I dvr'd the 30 for30 but didn't get a chance to watch it yet.
  7. I enjoyed the Iverson 30 for 30. I remember reading the Sports Illistrated article when it happened. No doubt then or now he was given a crazy unfair sentence where race had everything to do with it. He was in the wrong like literally thousands of other high school kids unfortunatly are who get involved in a brawl ( what extent AI was is still uncertain) and deserved to be punished, but the sentence he and his 3 friends got nailed with was and still is inexcusable!

  13. QUOTE (supernuke @ Mar 25, 2010 -> 12:31 PM) I guess it all comes down to what an individual was taught about what being respectful means. To each their own. You don't have to stand, you don't have to remove your hat, you can eat your nachos during it, or you can hoot and hollar and scream USA or GO HAWKS. It's your choice as a citizen of the country they are playing the anthem for. I personally stand and remove my hat, even put the hand over my heart, but to each their own. The noise level increases when the song is winding down in anticipation of it being over and the game getting ready to start at all sporting events. Hawks games are just louder throughout the singing, but I think it is far less a patriotic roar in most cases and more of hey let's get fired up for "kickoff, tip off, face off, first pitch" etc. Also a really long version by the singer usually is greeted with groans almost as if saying c'mon let's get this meaningless ritual over and get to the game!
  14. Loved watching Carolina play in Carmicheal!!! Great memories of watching UNC in the place I fell in love with the Heels, even if it is in the NIT. (lol) They needed to bring out the manual scoreboard at the end of the baselines though!!!!
  15. UTEP to the sweet 16. There the Orange end their mimi cinderella run.
  16. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 04:59 PM) Interesting draw for Wisconsin. Hopefully they can play well the first 2 games and give Kentucky problems. I took Wisky over Kentucky in the sweet 16 upset ( hope they at least get there to play UK). Then bowing out to West Virginia in the elite 8.
  17. Duke clearly got the eaisest region 1 through 4. I'm hoping Loiusville can jump up and bite them in the second round though (if they get past Cal). My upset special!!!!!!!!!
  18. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 15, 2010 -> 09:29 AM) Kansas, Cuse, WVU, Nova Kansas over WVU for the Championship That is my exact pick as well! Kansas over West Virginia for the crown. Syracuse & 'nova bowing out in the semis. Jay Bilis picked it the exact same way also, I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. LOL
  19. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 08:07 PM) It's hard to measure just how s***ty this UNC roster is. You have some young talent that Roy just refuses to play, and some upper classmen that just aren't ACC caliber but Roy was in love with them. Just made absolutely no sense. Larry Drew has ZERO confidence, he looks like a deer in headlights during crunch time. Nobody can step up to be a scorer with this bunch, mercifully the season is over (hopefully). Unless the Not Invited Tournament accepts them.
  20. QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 04:29 PM) They've already done something similar to that, though. http://www.ncaa.com/statistics/2009-2010/m...m-schedule.html 01/09/10 West Virginia W 70-68 02/24/10 Pittsburgh W 68-53 02/27/10 @Georgetown W 78-64 03/03/10 Connecticut W 58-50 03/06/10 @Marquette W 63-60 03/10/10 Seton Hall W 68-56 It is possible, but I just don't like their "odds" on doing it. They got by Pitt, and W. Virginia squeked by Cincy, so now the tough part begins. Since they have slowed down and began to play some "dee" they are a much tougher matchup then when they chucked up shots and acted allergic to the defensive end of the court that's for sure. Good luck to your Irish, they are on a roll at the right time of the year!
