  1. Google's LIFE photo archive What a great visual representation of some great American history.
  2. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 11:05 AM) Is this the movie with Simon Baker from the show "The Mentalist"? I'm talking about the one made in 1950, so let me just say, "I doubt it". William Holden is the star in this and in Stalag 17 and Sabrina (Wilder liked him). I really like him as an actor, but I think he got heavily into alcohol and drugs shortly after this film, which unfortunately effected his career and the world's view of him. EDIT: I see your edit. Gotchya. Seriously, check out the four films above. They are very entertaining.

QUOTE (Shadows @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 02:26 AM) What pisses me off is that double cheeseburger costs MORE than a REGULAR hamburger You screwed that one up, but I know what you were going for... Now its funny because they do that tax day deal where burgers are like 59 cents and cheeseburgers 69, but if you want fries and a soda, it costs more than the double cheese meal with a diet. Makes no sense.
  4. QUOTE (3E8 @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 07:40 PM) Anyone try real cocaine? I want to hear those stories Keeps you up all night. That's for sure.
  5. If you haven't seen them, a few of Billy Wilder's classics are about as good as film can get. Stalag 17 Sunset Boulevard Double Indemnity The Apartment I thoroughly enjoy all of the above, and of couse "Some Like It Hot" is quite good, and probably Wilder's most famous.
  6. Well, at least fire that caddy. However, I must say, he says "anyone would have done it" and that sure isn't true. He deserves props for his honesty, but his honesty makes him an idiot.
  7. Yeah... Rose was the most spectacular player on the floor last night and only one player had a more spectacular play (Kobe's behind the back pass). I love it.
  8. The Hawks need to stop letting teams tie games up and force overtime.
  9. QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 10:29 AM) Good, maybe he can coach 3rd again and do things like wave AJ Pierzynski around on an infield single and get thrown out by 55 feet. OMG I'M SHOCKED SOMEONE WENT THERE!
  10. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 10:30 AM) Ozzie did it too. Good old Ozzie...
  11. I really really really really liked G-Load.
  12. I still think the Sox will sign him, but I'd have thought it'd have happened by now.
  13. The Mariners screwed this one up like they've screwed everything up the last couple of years. Cora would make a great manager.
  14. Burnett will be their next Pavano.
  15. Well, this is a relative yawner.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 09:39 AM) Valentin junked if for a season I think. I remember Crazy Carl junking it a few times, too.
  17. You guys are alcoholics. No one's overrating Morneau here... THIS year he was a better MVP choice than the anointed MVP. It's plain and simple.
  18. On another note, JT Snow ditched switch-hitting late in his career and it did wonders for his overall stats. Maybe the Sox will do this with Betemit.
  19. QUOTE (BearSox @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 10:02 PM) What is everybody's thoughts on Pedro Martinez in some-sort of incentive laden deal where he's our 5th starter? I'd absolutely adore it, but he'd never sign an incentive laden deal. As for Betemit, his career .799 OPS vs righties is encouraging. I say put him out there at one of the infield positions against righties almost nightly.
  20. Works for me...
  21. A drink called "Four" with wormwood oil in it (think Absynthe) got really big around these parts for a couple of months. My buddy and I dropped like $75 for 50 cans and a bunch of us drank a lot of them. We didn't think they were having that much of an effect... but the next morning we looked at a lot of weird pictures we took and we were acting like psychopaths, breaking s*** and going outside in our undewear and s*** haha, didn't even remember it. That morning we were also puking. So yeah, these types of drinks can be fun.
  22. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 04:16 PM) Reid? Nice and forgiving? LOL. I said "to seem", not "to be".

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 04:24 PM) You have no idea how badly I wanted to say Surge. I miss Surge. Those commercials were awesome. SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGE!!! Seriously though, my buddy and I used to get a 12 pack of Surge each weekend night and stay up all night playing NHL 96 up to Goldeneye. Those were the days.
  24. Let's un-pin this non-news already.
  25. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 04:20 PM) lol, I thought of the movie "Outside Providence" after reading this(the funeral for Drugs) I love that movie.
