Iguchi out of WBC to concentrate on offense
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 03:38 PM) Damn. I would of liked to see him play. There's a neat little thing called spring training, and 162 games of regular season you should be more worried about.

Sox DVD Post Season Set Now Available
QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Feb 20, 2006 -> 11:31 AM) I can see one change since the last time this DVD set was brought up. I believe that it was noted previously that the one game in the ALCS was the "AJ game". It appears now that its the Game 5 pennent winner. it was always supposed to be the clincher...

Thome to bat 3rd
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 05:24 PM) Even as unconventional as Ozzie is, this was a no-brainer. Yes... wow, if Thome stays healthy, just think how this offense is going to work.

Men's Olympic Ice Hockey
Sweden looks like a powerhouse against Latvia, the team USA tied. Tomorrow's game (Sunday) should be good. I hope DiPietro plays, and I hope he stands on his head.

Lucked out
QUOTE(SnB @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 11:51 PM) I've only been in first row once. It was the day of the game in late august '04. I believe we were playing the royals and kinda drifting way back in the race. It was like 2 days before i moved to college. Well anyway, like at 2:00 (for a 7:00 game), i just looked on ticketmaster and somehow found first row seats down the left line. Carlos Lee dove for a ball in the stands that game, right next to me. I was on TV. woot. ha, awesome.

Hey, to give everyone hope, I just totally lucked out on ticketmaster... I did a search for 2 Lower box tickets for the April 17th game vs royals (1/2 priced monday) and scored Sect. 152 (yeah, not great) BUT FIRST ROW! 16 bucks a pop. im psyched. This should give others some hope out there.

Baines/Raines Flipflop
QUOTE(Al Lopez's Ghost @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 10:43 AM) One of the Chicago papers today - think it was the Sun Times - said that Raines is now the bench coach and Baines is the new first base coach. No reason has been given as yet. This makes me sad, I think that Tim Raines is a good first base coach... and I love watching him race to first "making" the other short stop throw him out before each inning...

Criteria For Choosing a College
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Feb 12, 2006 -> 11:23 PM) God damn, the stress in life never ends. With ACT's less than 2 months away, I'm right on the brink of making my college choice. I pretty much have it narrowed down to my top 5 or 6, but I'm not sure where to go from here. I know alot of you went through this recently and I wanted to know your advice on what to do and what not to do when choosing a college. My top 5 are: 1.) Grand Valley State University 2.) University of Illinois -- Urbana/Champaign 3.) University of Akron 4.) St. Cloud State University t5.) South Dakopta State University t5.) Southeast Missouri State University personally, i had a great time while i was at Northern Michigan University (hockey college), and a great time at Northern Illinois University... Depends what you are going for... PS f*** AKRON PSS let's have an ACT score contest. I got a 32

Mr. Zero is headin back to Japan
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 08:34 AM) For some reason he lost his ability to throw strikes last year. Thats what I think killed him. Not necessarily that the "league caught up with him." He lost the ability to throw strikes because everytime he did the pitch got hammered. He was scared. The league caught up to him, found a "tip," and slaughtered him. 5.20 ERA = League caught up to him!

Mr. Zero is headin back to Japan
I will NEVER forget how utterly confused Torii Hunter looked at Shingo's change-up... nor the sheer dominance of using Shingo in MVP 06 online against the poor bastards he always struck out. His changeup was unhittable in that game! Thanks for the GONG Shingo! Good luck!

QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 03:36 PM) I know, I know... It will be interesting to see how they react if (when) we hit a slump. Wonder how many will jump off the ship at the first 3 game skid... :rolly means cheap seats on stubhub...
