LA has Hollywood, Chicago has Lollapalooza... this seemed like a simple one for me to throw together. The more signatures it finds it's way into, the better the odds will be on our side! Sig it. Go SOX!

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 30, 2010 -> 10:33 AM) Yeah I threw my wife's on there and it's at $81 right now. Are you the one with the writeup with the wife story? I bid on that last night at $35, but no dice.

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Aug 30, 2010 -> 10:20 AM) What the hell is he going to do when KW lands Scott Downs to solidify the bullpen later on today? Hey, in all seriousness, is this a possibility?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 27, 2010 -> 08:37 AM) I'm not going to guess whether this is the first salvo in the Denver Anthony Ripping or a legitimate issue. This article is a joke. I don't care what Melo's interests are, he had his finest season last year and is clearly dedicated to basketball.

QUOTE (bschmaranz @ Aug 30, 2010 -> 09:50 AM) http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writ...in&hpt=Sbin Geez, why don't you tell us what you really think Tim? Actually, the article is pretty good.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 30, 2010 -> 09:57 AM) Manny on his way. Hopefully Ozzie puts him in the lineup right away. Given Jerry is writing a near 4 million dollar check, I don't think Manny will be under-utilized.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Aug 30, 2010 -> 09:49 AM) BNightengale #mlb #whitesox #dodgers Manny is on way to Cleveland. Should be in Sox lineup tonite. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's tight. He's going to look so good with a haircut. He had better be hitting 3rd. Rios there has been abysmal.
-
The only complaint I have about this move is that we have so little time to enjoy such a premiere bat. Hopefully Manny is extremely motivated by playing against Cleveland and Boston, while playing for a contract. When does the waiver claim go through? He'd better be in the lineup tonight.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 29, 2010 -> 10:41 PM) The only thing I'll say is that we could have had Johnny Damon for 1/2 the season for the same price (pro-rated) we're going to pay Ramirez. (That's assuming we just paid Damon $8 million in the offseason...or Guerrero, or whoever). 90 days of Damon The ONLY advantage we have is the head to head match-up with Minnesota at home, where that SHOULD favor us to take 2/3. However, a sweep really feels imperative, like the Twins did to us in 2008 when they were down by 2 1/2 and left with a one-half game lead when Jenks blew the Carlos Gomez for HOF game. Hammering this home a thousand times doesn't really do anything. We all know the rotating DH isn't exactly working. At least the Sox are willing to pay to fix their mistake.

4.5 games is no joke. However, Manny is no joke. The gaping hole in our lineup just got replaced by a .900 OPS. He's going to feast in the Cell, and I hope he likes Chicago and returns next year, too.

QUOTE (Sockin @ Aug 29, 2010 -> 05:59 PM) Here's the Manny ejection. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20...rtnerId=rss_mlb It could not be more clear that he went up there knowing he was arguing the first called strike.
-
QUOTE (Sockin @ Aug 29, 2010 -> 04:33 PM) Manny just PH with the bases loaded in the 6th, took 1 pitch, it was called a strike, and got ejected for arguing. The pitch wasn't even that bad. Manny doesn't want to be a Dodger anymore. God dammit, Dodgers, just let him come over here.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 26, 2010 -> 04:11 PM) The reason it's not circumcised is the 2004 Mehlman led campaign. If there's a way I can, I would like to nominate this for Post of the Year, and then close the thread.

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 26, 2010 -> 02:35 PM) Agreed, but if Brendon somehow makes the Final 2, he should definitely win, but he won't because the jury hates him. Usually the BB jury gets it right and gives it to the best player and not the most popular like Survivor, minus a few seasons. I still can't believe Sandra got the nod in Heroes vs Villains over Russell and Parvati.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 26, 2010 -> 11:51 AM) Yeah, its weird. Really weird. I had a similar situation in your top paragraph, in fact the girl went out and got married like a year after I broke up with her to an older rich man. I told her, you made the bed, you sleep in it. If the dude's rich, I'm sure there's someone else making the bed for them.

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Aug 26, 2010 -> 10:15 AM) Lefties are hitting .324 against Arrieta; let's lock and load up! Kotsay 3 EBHs tonight. I'm calling it.

US Constitutional Ammerndment #18 No mosques within 2, oh what the hell, we'll be generous, 4 blocks of ground zero. Throw some verbiage about Burlington Coat Factory in there as well. Yeah, that makes tons of sense. Merika! Japan should probably remove the McDonald's that is 0.9 miles from Hiroshima Peace Park, too.

Sadly, assuming there is no way Matt can get out of this, I have to root for Brendon now.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 26, 2010 -> 09:02 AM) Eh I love her. Although she made a terrible move putting Matt up, Regan and her are next to go. Matt dug his own grave by sticking with the Brigade to the extent of suggesting Ragan go up on the block. If he suggests Hayden instead of Ragan, he's safe.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 26, 2010 -> 08:16 AM) Whoever got signed as a coach...you'd sour on them in 3 years. Not Bill Cowher.
-
QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Aug 26, 2010 -> 10:11 AM) s it finally safe to say this kid is a fixture/starter for the next 4+ seasons at the ML level for our Sox, barring injury? I've been saying that since we drafted him so I don't see why I'd stop now.
-
QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Aug 26, 2010 -> 08:52 AM) If Sox claim Manny, Manny has no leverage in contract demands etc. Correct? Well, he can say he won't approve the "trade" unless he gets an extension.

Holee f*** are Cubs fans and those who cover them stupid. They seem to be convinced that Joe Girardi will leave his job as MANAGER OF THE NEW YORK YANKEES to manage the Cubs! It's the dumbest s*** I've ever heard. I don't recall anyone "quitting" their job as yankees manager in the last quarter decade... you get fired from that job. Why would he ever leave the Yanks, a team fresh off a world series and possibly headed to another, to take over the job as CUBS manager?!?! He won't.

QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 25, 2010 -> 07:06 PM) The statue will show him holding the Jordan statue's bags with one hand and holding a waiter off at arm's length with the other. Sad that you'd attempt to reduce Scottie's legacy to this.
