QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 27, 2009 -> 11:09 AM) Coop can fix h.....awww forget it Ball on tee. Nice contact. -
ESPN Link Some of the quotes in this article are hilarious when they committed to $100 million for Carlos freaking Lee. They also signed Woody freaking Williams that day and talked him up. What a joke of a franchise.

I'm not saying I like the idea, but as I called the Pods signing this one is imminent.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 27, 2009 -> 10:13 AM) I would wreck that middle one. The other two, not so much. I always loves posts like this. It's just comical bc we all know you'd bang the other two broads in a heartbeat.

Ramirez, Hudson, and Poreda Get it done, KW! /annoying trade maker-upper guy

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 27, 2009 -> 07:15 AM) What is really weird is how you defend Josh Fields every chance you get but rip this guy. They have basically been the same offensive player in the major leagues except Young runs better and plays better defense and is younger. They both suck, but why would Young's stats at this point be tell-tale, at least so important you have to make a thread about it, and Fields' stats mean very little? Again, Young is a younger player. Shhhh!!! Stop making sense!

Sports Officials ~ Who are the most swayed by superstars?
Steve9347 replied to Texsox's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Basketball is a joke when it comes to officiating. The person who selected hockey has no idea what they are talking about. -
I love it. I've had someone pounding down my door for Victor Martinez, and I told him the moment I heard this news he'd be on the table. So, now that Wieters will be called up, I have him. I sent off Victor Martinez, Vernon Wells, and CC Sabathia (I also have Matt Cain, Dan Haren, Johan Santana, Mark Buehrle, John Danks). I got back Adrian Gonzalez and Ryan Braun. We'll see how Wieters hits, but this is awesome news.

Wow, BearSox, I'm in the "Fields f***ing blows" camp, but Jayson Nix... really?!?! Yes, he ran into a couple fastballs which he pulled over the left field fence yesterday, but the guy does not have a better approach than Fields, nor does he have a better outlook for the future. That being said, Fields is awful, and will never hit higher than .245 in a Major League season. Now, if it still came with the 23 homers in 100 games pop that'd be one thing, so I guess we'll be forced to wait and see. I'll tell you one thing though. Beckham's bat will be much more valuable at 2B. I wish Kenny weren't being so short-sighted and forcing him to learn a position in the minors just to try to scratch out a division title this year.

QUOTE (almagest @ May 26, 2009 -> 09:02 PM) Maybe you want to look at those numbers again, because AJ actually hit .295/.332/.438/.770 with the Twins. Also, what about his year with the Giants? Is their hitting coach to blame for his .272/.319/.410/.729 year there? If so, hitting coaches should be the highest paid coaches in the game. AJ benefited from the carpet in Minnesota just like all those douchebags do right now.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 27, 2009 -> 07:46 AM) If TCQ goes DL, the smart call-up is Josh Kroeger, who has put up an .868 OPS in May at Charlotte. Unfortunately, we won't get the smart call-up, we'll get the Wise one. This was a very funny post.

QUOTE (KipWellsFan @ May 26, 2009 -> 11:22 PM) Guy in my fantasy league dropped him. Should I grab him off the waivers? Uhhhh of course.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 25, 2009 -> 08:53 PM) Josh Fields has played 1, count it, 1 FULL Major League Baseball season, 164 total games in his career to be EXACT. /thread Josh Fields turns 27 this f***ing year. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 26, 2009 -> 03:28 PM) All of the roster updates have to be done manually, right? There is nowhere I can go to upload that info through the Wii connect? You need to PM me. It was rather easy. There's douchbags who do it out there and then you send them a memory card and they'll put it on there for... $8. Once I get the file (guy has great feedback from others and the rosters are updated through A-ball), you can send me a memory card and I'll copy the file over if you want. In progressive mode, the game looks better than MLB 2k9.
-
Alright. Through some research I found fully updated rosters for MVP Baseball for the Wii (Gamecube). In my further attempts to modernize the game, I took it one-step further with the wii case design. I present, "The Bonermaker".

QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 26, 2009 -> 01:39 PM) Im not specifically talking about that game, I am talking about him in general. He has a giant hole that EVERYONE knows about. Both of their contracts make me want to puke actually. Yeah, but when compared to Campbell's, his is practically nothing. We're talking $11 mill remaining vs. $42.6. Honestly, it's been nice to see the kids come together... but everytime DT has dipped into FA he's made colossal mistakes. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 26, 2009 -> 01:32 PM) What is Huet for us then? Alot of good teams have 2 productive goalies making less combined than Huet is going to make a year. Huet is the lesser of two evils. Let's be real here. The guy had freaking 2 months off and they expect him to jump into the middle of a series against the Stanley Cup Champions and be a wall? I don't think so. It was bad luck that Khabibulin got injured. I'm no fan of having Huet the next 2 years at $5.65 million, but Campbell for another SIX years at $7.14 million? That's going to get in the way of keeping at least one player we really want to... -
QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ May 26, 2009 -> 01:34 PM) Not that I expect him to do well if given the call....I just wouldn't be surpised if the Nats took on a flyer on him Especially considering the state of their bullpen.
