  1. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 03:48 PM) Wilbon on PTI picked the chi sox to advance. Tony Kornheiser picked another yanks/bo sox alcs. Does Tony Kornheiser know that there are any other teams besides the yankees and red sox?
  2. Sad to hear. He was a good guy and a good member of the Sox. All-star in '73.
  3. These things are fun to debate, but my main concern is how the starting 9 performs, not who's going to be the 25th man on the roster. I like Blum's versatility, but I would prefer Gload. I like him as a pinch hitter in a key spot. Ozuna and Harris are the IF backups. Ozzie loves Blum for some reason, and we know how he feels about Ross.
  4. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 05:05 PM) I want to see em sweep Clevelad and go into the playoffs on a high note. YOU CAN DO IT GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!! GET TO DA CHOPPA!!!!!!!!!!! Wouldn't that be great, in front of three sellouts? As much as I dislike the Yankees and Red Sox for their overexposure among other things, I can't say I like the Tribe any better.
  5. QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 03:04 PM) https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/sliccar2/www/Lets...p3?uniq=-lg7wyp your welcome You have made my day. Thanks! I will be cranking this!
  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 02:03 PM) Just ordered my shirt from MLB.com. Bought myself the black "Roster" shirt. Man that thing looks gorgeous...got the names on the back. Hell yeah. Yeah. Definitely like that one the best. Hope to be adding three shirts to my collection: this one, AL Champs, WS Champs.
  7. Glad I was wrong. I am driving home to watch on TV.
  8. I disagree with brining in Jenks. I would leave Cotts in the game. I hope I am dead wrong.
  9. QUOTE(knightni @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 12:57 PM) Cliffie's coming in. no homers... Cliff...in Detroit? Deja vu? Please no.
  10. Tomorrow's lineup timo lf willie 2b carl dh gload 1b borchard rf widger c anderson cf blum 3b ozuna ss
  11. When Gooch is bad he is very, very bad and when he's good, he's awesome.
  12. Aubrey Huff would fit in very well with WSox.
  13. Doesn't seem like JD scares 'em too much.
  14. And, if the sun would have been in a different position on Sunday... But wait, if the ball wouldn't have hopped past Gload in KC...and if the throw to the plate in the Angels game would have been a little wide and Rowand would have scored...and if the field wasn't wet in KC when Dye misplayed the ball in right...and if...
  15. QUOTE(Wiredawg1 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 10:57 AM) I'm not trying to piss anybody off. I'm just pissed that the tribe may not make the dance, and in my opinion stand a hell of a lot better chance of advancing than the Sox. And I understand that it's a marathon and not a sprint. However the Sox remind me of the Ironman guy on the Gatorade commercial suffering from dehydration in the final 50 meters of the race. And what really pisses me off is the amount of time that Pronk missed because of Buerhle. We get that month back with Pronk and the Sox are looking up at us. Say what you want, but that's a fact. Let's have all the members of the Central Division vote on the best playoff representative. That seems like the fairest thing to do. Damn, I responded to him. Why? Why? I quit.
  16. We need this one tonight. Jason Grilli pitching for Tigers tomorrow. As a former member of the Sox, you know he will pitch a gem. Also, not sure if Freddy considers it a big game. Has anyone heard? The game in KC wasn't big enough for him, but the Minny game was. Hard to tell what he will think about tomorrow afternoon. But he pitches well on the road during the day, right? Except when it's in Seattle. But, they're his former team, so it's different.
  17. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 03:01 PM) Wow, Mariotti is actually in Detroit today. I never knew he followed games in person. I wonder if he's actually at the game, or if he watches from a hotel room in Detroit. I take him for what he is: someone who writes crap to get attention. Sometimes I agree with him, other times he's way off base. What I find funny, but not surprising, is how thin-skinned Mariotti is. He talks about Hawk and Reifert blaming the MEDIA. But they're not blaming all the media, they're calling out Mariotti for the phony he is.
  18. If y'all can be civil we'd love to hear from an Indians fan. Y'all have a great core and I expect will be contending for a long time. I know you don't care, but personally, I don't want to hear from an Indians fan...civil or not. If I want to hear from Indians fans, I'll go to the White Sox site and read the message boards.
  19. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 09:31 PM) He needs to worry about making the playoffs right now instead of his contract. Agree with you on that. I'd like to see him worry about making the playoffs and actually succeeding in the playoffs. He'll get his big pay day.
