  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 11:26 PM) If you've been paying close attention, as I'm sure everyone does right now, you'll notice that Hawk has a HUGE problem with Ozzie's managing. It's safe to say that no one is more disappointed in what he's seen on the field than Hawk is. I know I'll say this, and people will blow it off as Fathom just b****ing, but Ozzie Guillen is proving that he shouldn't be a MLB manager. When the going has got tough, Ozzie has acted like a little baby. He's going to keep on getting booed if this struggle continues, and I don't think he has the composure to handle it. MY ONLY HOPE IF WE MISS THE PLAYOFFS IS THAT OZZIE ISN'T OUR MANAGER NEXT SEASON. Only in the bizarre world of Soxland will the manager be gone if we win the World Series and be back if we miss the playoffs. You can't make this stuff up!
  2. QUOTE(soxman352000 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 05:47 PM) Thats a good one one. Your a really funny guy. *Thinks to himself "God I hope he is right"* This would be typical Sox luck: We somehow find a way to beat Santana tonight on a hit batsman, wild pitch, passed ball and sac fly, and then we lose the next three.
  3. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 05:44 PM) Wow, just heard KW's bite on the pregame show. Sounds like he's less than pleased about Ozzie airing his feelings about quitting after winning a WS. It's sad, but Ozzie seems to be melting down a bit. No doubt there's been a lot of pressure with this collapse. Can't blame him. What did he say?
  4. Dropped to 2-3. First two games of series in CO. I went to the Angels sweep at US Cellular Sept 9-11. Not sure how to get to .500 now.
  5. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 04:35 PM) Righties are hitting .203 against Santana and lefties .260. Looks like Ozzie is applying the same philosophy he uses with his relief pitchers to the line-up now.
  6. Call me stupid (Ouch, not so loud) but I think we're going to get to Santana tonight.
  7. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 01:07 PM) The old Drew Carey theme song: "Cleveland Rocks" "Yesterday" by the Beatles: "Under Pressure" by Queen & David Bowie ChokeSox, ChokeSox, Folllllllld, ChokeSox!
  8. Pods gagged big time, IMO. Three strikeouts last night? We had the lead in game one and blew it late. Bullpen has to be held accountable for that.
  9. This is a very, very good question. And, very depressing to consider.
  10. Seriously, we can do this! Let's shut down the Twinkies!! Dare to dream!!
  11. Not to worry. We're in first. We're the best team in the AL. We have been the best team since April. Ozzie is a genius. We play great small ball.
  12. Dear Santa: Please bring the White Sox an offense for Christmas.
  13. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 11:35 PM) From what I've read, the Mets are DESPERATE for a new good closer to replace Looper. The Cards have Isringhausen, so they'd probably wouldn't offer as much as the Mets, especially with Piazza's contract coming off the books. But the Mets have Royce Ring!
  14. QUOTE(mmmmmbeeer @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 01:04 AM) Cliff's history is Latroy Hawkins-ish. Leave him as a setup man. Yeah. He scares me in the 9th.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 05:41 PM) Yankees and Red Sox look to be in good shape to win their games tonight, as the Yankees have just jumped all over the Orioles. When will this nightmare end? Tonight!
  16. I would never do something so silly. Don't you know, none of this helps?
  17. White Sox, White Sox, Goooooo White Sox!!!!!!!!
  18. Wish I could be there, but back in CO. Maybe just as well, they lost all three to the Angels when I went last weekend.
  19. They are loveable because many of these so-called baseball experts picked them to win the division. If they overtake us, then these geniuses will be proven correct. The "experts" have been ticked off all year at our success and the gall we've shown to win ballgames rather than finish fourth as many predicted.
  20. So, how did that work again? If we go .500 in the second half and the Indians go... then we will clinch the division when?
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 06:41 PM) Anyone else notice DJ being extremely critical of a lot of the players tonight? He seems very pissed off. Really? Wow. That's a shocker. He's always Mr. Sunshine.
  22. OK. We've hit bottom. Let's rebound and get some wins!!!
  23. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 10:46 PM) I'm going to be getting hammered during the game tommorow night so if they don't win bad things might happen.
