  1. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 08:10 PM) Wow...it got quiet there REALLY fast. Silver lining: No ground gained or lost. s*** lining...we could have almost secured our division if we had hit tonight. Not to mention last night. F
  2. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 08:02 PM) For the love of God, please don't walk Peralta with Hafner on deck! There's your ballgame!
  3. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 07:58 PM) Lord only knows what I'll do, if Cleveland comes back. Do you have any doubt that the fricking Indians are going to come back in the ninth?
  4. This is the most disgraceful hitting team in the history of baseball. What a joke. And, Carl gets two hits tonight! But strands three.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) And that .145 is softer than Jim Parque's change-up. With all of 3 RBI in three weeks. :puke
  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 04:44 PM) I would LOVE to see that ALCS. I would love to see ANY ALCS involving the Sox.
  7. Everett is hitting .145 (11-for-76) in his last 21 games. :headshake
  8. God he's annoying, but Jay, thanks for the win today OK. If you're looking for omens, how about this one. My Sox-themed phone password at work expires on Sunday. Is this a sign?
  9. That's more people than the Yankees drew in 1996, when they won the World Series. Then again, it had been 15 years since their last appearance.
  10. Where are all the links to the Chicago media coverage of this story?
  11. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 03:39 PM) yeah, let's hope a free swinger with a .250 average is going to take some pitches and drive some runs in. Dare to dream, baby. Dare to dream!
  12. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 03:27 PM) Any news on Ogunleye yet? It would really suck to have him injury-riddled 2 years in a row. EDIT: http://www.chicagobears.com/news/newsDetail.jsp?id=10954 Regular anke sprain. He might not even miss a game but he sat out of practice Wednesday. Notes: Vasher tied for league lead in picks with 3 (Deltha O'Neal, Bengals). Zoom was credited with a sack yesterday by the NFL. Mike Brown still hasnt receivd a fine from the NFl on the hlmet-to-hemlet hit on Pollard. Did he practice today?
  13. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) Yes! I really do think he will be back in the rotation. I am worried about the comments that Ozzie has made concerning sticking with guys who have been there all year. Now it could be that The Duke is ready to pitch, but this kid McCarthy has shown some mettle with suberb games against Boston, Texas and Minnesota. Next year for sure he will be in the rotation. The McCarthy vs Hernandez issue is just one of the line up concerns I see. That's what it sounds like, El Duque will be back. To not even consider McCathy for post season is a joke.
  14. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 01:50 PM) Fitting, since the bizzare metamorphosis of this team from a loose club that had fun and found ways to win to the turd-riffic bunch of chumps they are now could have only been imagined as the result of bad halucinations brought on by a handful or two of purple Owsley. Are you on the bus or off the bus
  15. QUOTE(whitesoxgt @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 01:56 PM) What do u think about Lloyd McClendon, i know hes been on sucky teams but his teams always look good defensively and it seems like he is good with scouting and giving his young players a chance. I know hes not as good as piniella but he should be considered for a job somewhere. He doesn't excite me too much. I'd like to see them get Lou, but I think he may end up with Yanks.
  16. What a depressing thread. I don't care how we get in, though.
  17. As someone alive when he played, I remember him as a good power hitter whose career was cut short.
  18. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 01:46 PM) AJ batting 3rd I like this lineup. Let's get some hits.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 02:06 PM) Well, maybe if there was any sense of urgency 2 months ago, it would have never got to this point. I know a lot of us used the phrase "taking their foot off of the accelerator". This Sox team isn't good enough to just have no focus and win games. The offensive fire power isn't strong enough. Yes. They got into that "rest up for the playoffs" mode and now they are paying for it.
  20. Wow. You're right. It was the Dodgers. Actually, they came into the series at .500. So, the last team with a winning record the Sox beat at home was the Angels at end of May, early June.
  21. And this from the Sun-Times: No, booing from the fans wouldn't be an added reason, though Guillen said he would like to see a more supportive fan base for a team that has outdone the 2004 club by leaps and bounds. Get real, Ozzie! The fans have been great this year. Sorry if we're not lapdog Cub fans. I went to the games vs. Anaheim at US Cellular. You're lucky there wasn't a riot, the way your team rolled over on Saturday and Sunday. Try your act in NY, Boston, or Philly and see how much support you get. Maybe there will be an opening in Tampa next year. Then you can find out about a supportive fan base--and you'll be close to home.
  22. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 11:47 PM) Can we get Kruk in here as a strength and conditioning coach?
