What Sox championship memorabilia do you recommend
Colorado Sox Fan replied to Funkman7's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Have you seen the 2006 Sox calendar? Big Frank and Kong on the front. :-) -
QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 07:11 AM) I could be wrong, but I don't see KW reversing his trend by trading a good solid starting pitcher for a slugger. I agree and hope you're right. In my mind the starting pitching is untouchable, including bmac. I don't see Kenny sending away a proven starter who helped the team dominate the playoffs for a guy who is a big risk.

QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 03:11 PM) Those commemorative Tribune "Believe It!" and Sun-Times books are at Waldenbooks. Just to let everyone know. Saves you on shipping costs. I've already looked through them both. Very cool. Which do you like best? -
QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 02:27 PM) Exactly...Laguna Beach...what the f*** is that? Wait...there's a Full House box set? Awesome!!!!

If you want to deal with MLB.com, this was on the Sox's Web site...Scott Merkin Q&A: Scott, can you tell me if the World Series jackets that White Sox executives had on during the celebration in Chicago will be available to the general public, or are they special one-of-a-kind jackets? These were the black jackets with the tan leather sleeves. If they're not going to be available, can you tell me who made them? Thanks and hope to hear from you soon. -- Mike Mike, these jackets will be available at the MLB.com Shop beginning this week. It will appear on this page when it does become available to the public. These jackets apparently struck a chord with many fans, judging by the six or seven e-mails I received asking about their purchase.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Nov 7, 2005 -> 12:45 PM) Who bought Sox Monopoly? They have it at Grandstand. Konerko is Boardwalk...Buerhle is Park Place. This cracks me up...considering the Chicago edition of Monopoly has Wrigley Field but no Comiskey. Please tell me this isn't available on line, because my credit card is taking a beating. -

QUOTE(greg775 @ Nov 6, 2005 -> 11:20 PM) Q-After wanting the Sox to win for so long and to have them come through and make this the best winter ever ... somebody asked me if I'd be as much a fanatic next season and seasons to come. I ask you the same question. Will you "want it as much" next year? Will you sweat out every game as you probably did this year? Be mad at baserunning blunders when we lose or if Garland walks 7 in 3 innings? Or if Marte walks two guys and we lose the opener, 7-6? Will you be AS passionate as before now that we've won the crown is all I'm asking? No. I won't want the next one as much. I will not get as ticked off about dumb mistakes, Damaso walks, etc. I will still be as passionate about the Sox, but the urgency is gone. Yeah, I'd like to win about a dozen world series titles, but I'm satisfied that they won one in my lifetime--something I had seriously doubted I would see. This has been an incredible year.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 08:31 PM) Every single person who has started a thread asking if they can get a copy of the opening montage better of had their VCRs/DVD recorders/Tivos running today. Brooks did you a damn favor. I Tivoed that b**** and plan on watching it over and over. I was rolling on that and I've watched it twice already, tears streaming. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 05:45 PM) Is it safe to say that Podsednik's homer was the biggest homer ever hit by a Chicago team? Yes. Extremely safe to say that. The biggest single moment in Chicago White Sox history. One of the top five events in Chicago sports history.

Konerko's dad expects son to test market
Colorado Sox Fan replied to SSH2005's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The two Houston pitchers were going home. Konerko's home is Rhode Island, so the Red Sox are the only ones who get the luxury of a hometown discount. Anyway, let's just win the world series. If that happens I will care a lot less. A lot less. -

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 05:04 PM) I love how people react to these threads. Konerko's father can say whatever he wants. Konerko's father is not playing, he is not hitting, nor in the end will he be signing the contract. This thread is entirely speculation, not to mention who knows the intention, original context of the question, etc. We will see what happens, and if Konerko is offered a contract that is comparable to the other offers, I believe he will take the White Sox offer. That is home town discount, giving your team the edge in bargaining. For those of you unfamiliar with the concept of home town discount, perhaps some reading on the Astros will do the trick. I believe both Pettite and Clemens, rejected much more favorable deals to come to the Astros. Also I believe Andruw Jones made a similar deal. While none of them came "cheap", they all signed for undermarket value. Which should be the real definition of home town discount. SB -
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 05:40 PM) I was looking forward to this today, but apparently it's only being showed if you're close to Chicago, I'd guess. I'll just get to watch the entire BBTN preview. Yeah. only in Chicago. No one outside of chicago would care right? They'd much prefer the 900th rerun of Golden Girls Pitiful company, pitiful station.
