QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 10:34 AM) The problem is, it's going straight at the fans sitting down the right field line. Lets not kid ourselves....he's not hitting into bad luck. He rarely hits the ball with any authority, and he's been too easy of an out at this level. He desperately needs to go down to the minors and regain confidence. It's just disturbing that we have no other options right now. I don't want to see Mackowiak full-time out there, especially against lefties. ^

QUOTE(chaerulez @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 11:24 PM) Hopefully Ozzie won't take another Red Sox or Yankee, already too many of those fools in the game. If only he could remove some of the yanks or Wrong Sox who will be vote in.

Definitely Cleveland. Their lineup is better and their pitchers should do better than they've been doing so far.

White Sox Select Texas Righty Kyle McCulloch
Colorado Sox Fan replied to Chisoxfn's topic in FutureSox Board
"McCulloch started Saturday's game against the Cardinal and allowed six earned runs on nine hits over four innings, striking out two and walking two." Sounds like a good fit for our starting rotation. -
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 02:28 PM) Pods, LF; Iguchi, 2B; Thome, DH; PK, 1B; Dye, RF; AJ, C; Crede, 3B; Uribe, SS; Anderson, CF. Freddy Garcia on the mound. It's being brought. I like it. Now, let's do it.

2006 White Sox Catch-All Thread

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 10:14 PM) Right. I think they have 1 tally for CSN and another for WGN. What I don't understand is why they don't say something like: "Yesterday, DJ you had it right...you picked Pods and he went 3-4 and scored the winning run." Seems strange you make picks but then don't follow up. Yes, I am aware that we're opening a big series with the Tigers and this is not a big deal. -
2006 White Sox Catch-All Thread
Colorado Sox Fan replied to greasywheels121's topic in 2006 Season in Review
A couple of random questions on an off day: 1) I don't understand "Pick to Click". Hawk and DJ mention it at the beginning of the game, but never say at the end of the game or the next day who was the winner, even though it seems they have tallies in parentheses. 2) Is that a new scoreboard in RF with out of town scores? Hard to tell on TV and I don't remember it from when I was at the park last year. Looks like the old Comiskey board. 3) I've watched the replay of the ball that skipped past Pablo a dozen times and I don't understand what was going on with BA. He wasn't going for the ball and obviously wasn't in position to back up. One randon opinion: I have never been a big DJ fan, but he sounds better this year. I thought he did very well on the Saturday game, with some good stats and info. He's improved his game, finally. Now if Hawk would only come up with some new material... :sleep -
My gut feel: We end up with Pods in center after July (not the best option but Mack isn't any better there) NOOOOO. Please no Pods in center. It won't happen because Ozzie has seen his play and it scares the crap out of him.

Rumor heard during Phillies-Dodgers game...
Colorado Sox Fan replied to AWhiteSoxinNJ's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 12:59 PM) Where is the crack pipe? I need some of that stuff so I can see things your way. First off, B-Mac's role should NOT be a reliever, nor should it be a spot start guy. He's come all the way through as a starter. His future is a starter, knowing that he will get the ball every five days. His ass was in the bullpen not being used "just in case they needed him for a spot start"... and of course he's going to not have the control he should when all of a sudden they reverse course on him and start putting him back into relief situations. This is the team's fault, not McCarthy's. They are misusing him BIG-TIME. Garland is improving, but he won't be able to touch McCarthy long-term. Pass the pipe over here. BMac is being abused real bad. Can't blame him when they use him once a week at best. I think K. Kennedy has been sucking on the pipe. If the Phillies traded Rowand, the city of Philadelphia would riot. They love the guy. Anderson's not the problem. There are a lot of guys who aren't getting it done with men on base. -
Have the Sox just gotten fat and lazy?
Colorado Sox Fan replied to brijames's topic in Pale Hose Talk
One thing we can take a little solace in is that Toronto, Cleveland and Texas are very good hitting ballclubs. Still, the pitching's not where it needs to be. I think the Jeff Nelson era is over. Sounds like Ozzie's saying that Cliffy is relegated to mop up duty. We need the starters to step up. But do they have it in them? I love ARow, but if he were on this team instead of Thome we'd be about .500 right now. And, Thome's just as good a clubhouse guy. In order to play small ball, you need good pitching and defense. It worked last year, because we were only giving up a couple of runs a game. When your starters are getting hammered every game, it kind of eliminates the strategy of playing for one run. They're not fat and lazy. They're not pitching well at all and the league is figuring out these guys. What did we do with RISP last year vs. this season? Is it that much worse? Let's take two of three from Detroit and then get some revenge on the Tribe. If we continue to falter, I'm pulling out the Playoff DVDs. -

QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 05:38 PM) Cintron has to be approaching Uribe in making first pitch outs. Fine his ass. C'mon, you're a bench player who swings at the first pitch after the guy before you walked? -

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 03:44 PM) I don't like their rotation at all outside of Pedro. Their bridge from starter to Wagner is also pretty average. They've got a pretty solid line-up, although it will never reach it's full potential unless Reyes learns to take a walk, and Beltran becomes the Beltran from '04. Not sure if anyone realizes it, but Pedro just won his 200th game. If you tuned into Baseball Tonight a half hour late that night, you missed it.

QUOTE(rudylaw @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 03:49 PM) Did you not know that the Yankees and Red Sox is the greatest rivalry in sports. Just ask any Yankee or Red Sox fan, they will tell you so. :puke I lived in NY so I got to hear first-hand about it. It would just be nice if a so-called "national" sports network looked beyond Bristol once and a while. -

I almost never watch SC because of their disgusting over-indulgence of all things Yankee and Red Sox, but I did happen to catch that. Pretty dumb. -

I don't usually go for these things, but I kinda like them. I'm confused, what are we counting down to?
