  1. Well i'm a little late chiming in on this thread so i'll just say this: I'm not there to give heather a lesson like steff was talking about already. I was just worried about how in the hell she was going to get home that day because she was in pretty bad shape. I don't wanna see anyone i've met from this board, or well anyone in general have some accident on the way home, so i'm glad whoever took care of her took care of her and that's that. All safe and sound and heather will do what she wants with her experience and i'll leave it at that And thanks for the kickass tailgate steff
  2. and though you can't see it i'm in steff's trunk sittin there laughing my ass off at those two the entire time and maury's definitely likin it oh what priceless pictures

I was too busy watching the exciting ATM race!!!!! Actually me and showtime were watching it while talking about how ridiculous it is. I would have been the one on the far right, with showtime in the middle.

    Board Behavior

Hit the weight room, run a lot, and drink lots of water If you have the chance to swim some laps do that too
  6. Oh and i almost forgot, for those of you that may have missed it Dave Wills mentioned us on the postgame show for nomads fest or what not, mentioned a few people by name too, thanked us for the hospitality and good food and said it's nice to have good fans like that out there supportin the team
  7. Tailgate was definitely a blast, good to meet up with some people here and from some other boards and just talk some baseball while throwin back a few Sally Sox definitely should have won...and don't worry, i let Fred Fan know what was up....that toolbox However the best part of that whole ATM race was when the two 8 year old chicks came up post race and asked Steff "is that a bra?" I couldn't stop laughing. Thanks to everyone who showed up and made it a blast tonight, minus the score Special thanks goes out to Steff and HSC for organizing the whole thing, it was a great time PS Maury and Critic, i heard you left in the 8th or so? You missed the awesome Ramon Hernandez blast off of Koch , not to mention the fireworks
  8. There are certainly some exceptions to this, but i've heard this time and again When the bullpen is clicking, the manager is a genius (because every move works anyway) When the bullpen is struggling as a whole the manager is an idiot (because every move backfires) To a large extent, this is true. Hell, any one of us could manage a bullpen if all the guys had sub 4 ERA's and sub 1.30 WHIPS. So, if White and Koch were on, would it matter what JM did? Not really That being said, i do think when manuel tends to overwork some of our guys (again, does he have a choice), and sometimes messes around too much with leaving starters in/taking them out. If he goes to the pen early and he blows it (schoeneweis), he gets hammered. In that same situation, if the pen comes in and gives up no runs the rest of the way, he won't get blasted nearly as much. The managers job is to put players in the best position possible to succeed. That's what you have to judge JM by. For the most part this year he has done that, judging by what he has to work with. Of course there have been enough exceptions to this to talk about.
  9. i think you missed why i put that up there....(click the link)
  10. http://www.espnradio1000.com/ check out the poll on the very bottom of the page. vote as often as you would like; i'll post results later.
  11. You are right. what if it gets to the bullpens????
  12. What about Koch for the last month makes you think he can close? Gee i dunno, i prefer past history. Mark my words. Koch will be back and closing by september, UNLESS DW comes in and takes the job. i don't think you take a division contending team and try to experiment with a new closer in the last 2 months of the year, but that's just me...then again we don't have an established closer really, so it's not like he'd be taking anyone's job.... Uh yeah, we have no choice but to experiment. We HAVE no closer right now. well, marte has done the job closing games, as has gordon for the most part. both are used to closing. and, even koch knows how to close. has wright ever had experience closing? that's what i mean by experimenting. i know we have no real sure fire closer right now, but this is something you pull off in spring training, not in a division race, IMO
  13. What about Koch for the last month makes you think he can close? Gee i dunno, i prefer past history. Mark my words. 14. I can't make it but zach23 and huge should be there. They are in the bleachers, so maybe you can stop by and have huge perform for ya. off the hook
  15. HSC, just tell them that koch is there to give you your birthday lap dance in your seat. whaaaaaaaaa?
  16. Isn't this the 3rd time Buehrle and Mulder have squared off this year?
  17. i got it, you have mine too, i think..... what time do you usually get down there...i can leave anytime from here really
  18. That ain't bad at all Certainly the numbers you'd like to see if you want to make him your closer However the question remains, why in the hell can't he keep his 1st inning pace (or near it) over 5, 6 innings?
  19. Where will you guys be sitting or hanging out, since i don't have a ticket i'll probly be upper deck unless someone sneaks me down
  20. Watch Kennedy get shipped to the Cubs
  21. I'm trying to get someone to go with me just so i don't eat the 15 parking and gas by myself...and not sit alone...but i just may end up doing that. Buehrle jersey in the car
  22. Well, as long as it's still fun for you, cool
  23. What the hell did we bet on? If ISU wins, you have to post something here. However, if ISU loses by a large margin, I have to post something here. Well, you have plenty of time to think of your post then We're not going out quietly. If we DO lose, it'll be very close. Just watch out for our main defensive asset, Boomer Grigsby. In addition, Michael Souza is a pretty good QB! You're gonna have your hands full. Who???? Yes, we may lose to IU if we play like crap, but i really don't see us losing to you guys, Heather. That would be just awful and we'd probly have a 2-10 season if we are that bad I don't think it will be a ridiculous blowout, but i think i'll be able to relax by the middle of the 3rd quarter without worrying about the outcome Then again i said that about the San Jose st game (though san jose st is much better than ISU) Hey IF I am in town for the game, might you wanna sit together? Ya, as long as you wear orange and meet me in Block I (student fan group, similar to orange krush)
