I think this may be a frequent problem, the last registered user was something like abcdefghijklmnop123456

The pesimistic prediction usually turns out to be correct when it involves the Sox.

Big chance for Garland to prove that he can be a consistent winner.

No. he didn't say "should we", he said "do we" with Kenny Williams, those 2 don't always correspond.

I am not sure if this has been mentioned yet b/c I just skipped reading all of the posts after the first few (3 pages is a lot to take in) But why not throw in Jimenez with Cotts or Ring and take back alomar and a prospect or two. Maybe Alomar and Pat Strange and a single-A player?

You mean to tell me Barneys Great Adventure didn't score 100? I actually just saw a terrible movie yesterday, called Better off Dead, this 1985 attempt at comedy was actually just John Cusack soaking in screen time. Quite possibly the worst movie I have ever seen. (for anyone who has seen it, there is a fat kid that is funny to watch, and a chinese kid that talks like howard kossell)

Is anybody else encouraged by Rob Purvis's performance? I think the guy might finally be coming around. Why isn't Chad Durham leading off anymore?

I remember a few years ago, a guy dressed up as a Pirate and jumped off of the World Trade Center, he hit a flag pole and was dicapatated...now tell me why the hell someone would choose to die this way.

Q 104.3? I like Ian O'Malley when he is the DJ on weekends, he has that deep smokers voice that the old school DeeJays always have. According to Ian O'Malley the breakfast of champions is a pack of cigarettes and some coffee.

statistics aren't everything. If someone showed you the ERA of the Cubs starting pitching, you would guess that their record would be better than it is now.

wtf...do you think Tim Duquette is coke addict. The Mets believe it or not prefer fair trades, rather than getting taken to the cleaners. I don't believe they are looking to trade a solid secondbaseman and cover his costs for a middle reliever. It will probably take a decent starting pitching prospect and maybe Sanders too, or maybe a lesser prospect to get Alomar and his contract.

It played him up to be the greatest basketball player to ever step foot on United States soil

wow...I am shocked. Did you read the article in the post yesterday about the Polish guy?

CW, would you be upset if by some strange mishandling of the rotation, this game ends in a tie? My feeling is that a tie doesn't matter. The whole purpose of an all star game is to see the stars come out. Who cares if there's a tie. If they do run out of pitchers again, have the captains flip for homefield advantage

Yea and I'll be at bible studies at game time today. Believe what you want I guess. what the hell, this isn't my theory. He really was born and raised, and still is a Sox fan. But if he went on the air and said "I am a Sox fan, I hate the Cubs...they are bastards" how would his ratings be? More proof. Remember his little show "bleacher bums and bleacher babes" the soul purpose of this show was to demonstrate the idiocy of cub fans. He would ask them questions like whats the score, who is the home team, who is playing. And the bleacher people would get most of them wrong.

good ol' Chicago Gridlock.

Sweetney will be average.

Anybody know whats with the late start time?
-
lol, actually it is a salute to Bo Jackson (he had the Bo knows... nike marketing think in the late 80's), but it could be Schembechler too, if you want it to be.
-
No, Mike North actually is a Sox fan. Mike Murphy is a Cubs fan. North still has to talk about the cubs, because a show that was either all Sox or all Cubs would get hurt in the ratings, but North is definately a Sox fan. Didn't you listen during 2000. He had that Sox celebration after the sweep of the Indians.

I suspect they can be held huglely liable in a civil suit for consumer fraud. A corporation can not do whatever the hell it wants - hell, if I were drafted the federal civil suit (and I believe one has been filed or planned) I'd start with the century old Sherman anti-trust act and allege violations of that - while MLB has an exemption from anti-trust, the Trib corp does not and what they did with these tickets is akin to fraud if not outright, illegal, fraud. The arena though will probably be a civil, not criminal case. You would know a lot better than I do... I was just stabbing in the dark

My bad CW...I should have taken that into account. I am sure you will love the All-Star game. I have never been to one, but I don't know how one could not enjoy it.

2001: .336 BA, 20 HR, 100 RBI, 30 SB, .415 OB%, .541 sl%. He is a good AL player. Change of scenery may not bring him back to this caliber but would likely do him good. btw, the Jose Valentin comparison does great injustice to Roberto. Valentin is my hero after yesterday, but come on. Valentin and Alomar...one of those guys will be making a visit to cooperstown, the other is not even close.
