can someone explain to me why my post got posted twice?

I just bought it used, and it didn't come with instructions. I may sound like an idiot, bought I tried playing my first game, and the batter wouldn't swing. I got bunting down, and I tried x to swing but he would just check swing. How the hell do I get him to take a healthy cut?
-
Right now, I say no. He needs 2-3 more solid seasons to be a lock first ballot. 425 would get him in eventually. If his career average ever slips below .300 it will be tough. 2200 hits 450 home runs 1500 RBI's and as long as the batting average stays up, and the ob% remains one of the best of all time, he will get in their quickly. Right now he can just pride himself on being the best white sox

First off, Kearns isn't going anywhere. Secondly, Pena has no more options, and will not clear waivers. so he would either rot on our bench or we would have to make another trade so we could put him somewhere. Also, Pena struck out 1 out of three atbats in AA before he was brought up and exhausted his options. So playing him would be an extreme risk. The Yankees won't give up Johnson. Steinbrenner loves him. Thomas is turning things around, but the Yankees are actually trying to get a little younger. Bringing in Frank does not help them in that sense. IMO, both trades would be turned down. But I can tell they were well thought out, its too bad KW does not have your creativity.

In terms of screen name, I am Rob

Btw, the Twins actually were smart not drafting Prior, from what I have hear there is no way they would have been able to sign him. In Mauer they have one of baseballs soon to be great catchers. The guy is a natural hitter. It worries me, bc when Mauer is ready he will dominate, and the Twins may get some decent players when the time comes to trade Pierzinsky

Is this the most popular thread in Soxtalk history? It seems to be the official thread of Sox losses -
Wow has this been a sloppy series or what? My prediction was Nets in 6. For that to happen tonight is a must win...so I am taking the Nets, by a score of 87 to 80. I also predict that people in San Antonio will hate Bruce Springsteen's song born to run after tonight. Enjoy JKidd, KMart, RJ and the Nets in Game 5, only on ABC.

I have no problem with Colon starting the inning, after that homerun to bonds, he has got to go.
-
I would much rather see the Yankees or the Twins have prior than the cubs. I am of the hate the cubs as much as I like the Sox mentality
-
I was stunned and angered when Manuel left Colon in there

The most recent books I just finished reading were: Live from New York: An unsensored history of Saturday Night Live Veeck as in Wreck and I read the Jordan Rules last fall and Last summer I read Bill James: Historical Baseball Abstract (the latest one, not the one from the 80's) Nothing like a good book

wow...I am the only one so far who does not share a middle name with the name of a disciple. My family is pretty religious, and I am surprised that I don't have a disciple anywhere in my name. How come nobody in this country names their kids Jesus? In spanish countries they use the lords name, but here it would be weird for some reason to be named Jesus.

Following my chem final today, my class had a discussion about middle names. I was by far the most unique in terms of middle name. Mine is Lacour, the next most uniqe was victor. Of course when I say my middle name is Lacour, it immediately draws comparisons to liquor. Oh well... Anybody else have a 'different' middle name?

Go foreign... we don't need wayde, not fast enough for what the bulls are looking for IMO. In other bulls news, I heard Sirius by Alan Parsons project without the bulls intro...and it was like a trip down memory lane.
-
the yankees will take any reliever with an arm that isn't in a cast, and that has big league experience... we won't get much, but it is better than letting him rot
-
I say we ship him to the Yankees for a minor leaguer
-
Go, Go, Go, Go Yofu its your birfday... He is my favorite minor leaguer, mostly b/c of his name. He is 29 so he deserves a shot at the bigs this year...what do the sox have to lose. Jae Seo is old and the mets decided to use him this year, look how that has turned out, he is the best pitcher for the metropolitans. Somebody has to succeed, why not Yo....fu
-
That would be hilarious! LOL, I hope he does it. I hate the Yankees but I am disappointed that they couldn't beat the scrubs.
-
oh yeah, and about ozzie... Not sure about this, but I think I read that Guillen and Radinsky were the only two players that Hawk acquired that were still around the Sox orginization in 1993.
-
I wasn't born at the time, but my favirote early-mid 80's pitcher was Floyd Bannister...you can't go wrong with a name like that.
-
The New York papers have been waiting for Steinbrenner to lose control. This may be the spark in the powder keg. If so...good bye Torre, good bye Zim, good bye Cashman.

Buehrle is not crap, but he is having a crappy season (with the exception of april, and a few starts since). I thought he was coming around again, but apparantley not. I say we sign him to a cheap contract after the season, possibly load it with incentives so Buehrle won't pass on the offer. Let this game stand as a testemant to how a good team can scout out players and use a draft wisely. With worse picks than we have had, the giants have found away to build the best core of young pitchers(excluding the team across the bay), and they have done it while staying in contention. Sabean is a good GM, lucky SF fans.
