Has Frank sold that monster of a house in Oak Brook yet? If not, than that thing has been on the market for at least 4 years.

Getting back to UConn for a second, I think Gordon is one of the better Gaurds right now in NCAA.

its actually to record the content of a video tape onto a DVD, and the directions said that the erase protection tab could erase the content of the VHS tape during the recording process.
-
Does anyone know where the Erase Protection Tab is located on a VHS tape? And does anyone know how to remove it?

Who do you want to coach the bears?

I just don't see a 78 year old man having the dedication or the will to spend 24/7 on a team. He did a great job in Buffalo, but that was 10 years ago, and the bears don't have Jim Kelly or Thurman Thomas.

By the way, any and ALL Old Navy Commercials are annoying.

Best IMO: I love the one where the two information guys knock themselves out leaving the guy stranded in the meeting without any of the figures. I love watching the guy hit the filing cabinet. Worst IMO: McDonalds commercial featuring basketball on rollerblades. It annoys the hell out of me.

I try to read a book a month, here are my last 6 months: December 03: "In the Heart of the Sea" by Nathaniel Philbrick. Average. November 03: "Bleachers" by John Grisham. Loved it. October 03:"Bo" by Mitch Albom. Great book, especially during the season. August 03:"The King of Torts" by John Grisham. Dragged on. July 03:"Moneyball" by Michael Lewis. Good read. June 03:"True Believers" by Joe Queenan. Hysterical. January's book of the month: "My Losing Season" by Pat Conroy.

I read in the sun times over x-mas break that levy wants the job. I don't care how far he runs though, I don't like the idea of giving such a stressful and time consuming job to a 78 year old.

I am against gay marriages. I have no problem with a "union" or gay people living together, but I believe that marriages were created for a man and a woman. Now on to the subject of the catholic church. I am catholic and I belong to a great parish. The parishoners are all very loyal, and the priests are very nice. My old parish was pretty much the same way, but it was much larger, and therefore I didn't know the priests as well as the ones at my new parish, but I believe they were just as decent and honest. Unfortunately, not all churches are like the two I have just described. As we all know, priests nation wide have committed horrid offenses and deserve to be punished. With this in mind, I believe it is wrong criticize the catholic faith or to generalize about catholic priests. Afterall, a priest is human, and I do not attend church to praise other humans, I am there to worship God. That is what the Catholic faith, just like any other faith is all about, worshipping God. The atrocities committed by some members of the catholic clergy symbolize the many problems that exist within humans. And it is why it is so important that we realize that God is the real reason for the catholic church. Unless one intends to criticize God, or those that believe in him, one should not criticize the catholic church.

Headaches haven't comeback, but the vision in my left eye (the eye right by the impact) is a little blurry. I'll wait it out and see what happens.

I would, but when it comes to web-site design I am a clueless f***.

Apu, I added a classic statement you made to my signature. I disagree with what you were saying, but it is funny as hell

I would be curious to see the exact figures on how many death row inmates are exonerated. And I believe for the analysis to be valid, the figures would have to be starting from 1975 at the earliest, that way false accusations of blacks in the south would not be considered in the figure. I could be wrong but I think the number would be slim, and even if it isn't slim, I don't think it would be "many" as you said. I am not sure if the death penalty is a deterrant or not, but it does cut down the prison population. What do you think of Bush saying that we should return to the moon and build a base?

thanks for the advice. My dad had a severe concussion four years ago that knocked him out for a good 5 minutes and for an hour he couldn't remember anything about himself except his social security number. In the months following he was very lathargic and depressed, and actually didn't feel normal until he fell and got another concussion. So if this minor concussion has any lingering affects, I might just have to run into somebody in gym class again to straighten my brain out

Would You Believe The Detroit Expos?

Chicago is a football town, but still has 2 baseball teams...makes you wonder As far as the tigers finances go, People blame Illich and say 'why doesn't he spend that money he makes on the red wings on the tigers', but doing so would probably piss off the majority of Red Wings partners all who have invested in the hockey franchise not the Tigers. The Tigers are a seperate entity and they have to generate some of their own money if they are going to win. -
Thanks for your help, hopefully it will be feeling better in the morning. Spiff- if you had a picture of your bleeding eye you could put it in the 'my red eye of doom' thread

I still love the SNL skit with the different terror warnings, such as "off white".

It is definately intriguing but I would be stunned. I read last year in Sport's weekly that a survey showed Northern New Jersey is the best place to put a baseball team, becasue there is a high quanity of baseball fans, and NJ has the highest income, and population density. So it would seem that a team would be the perfect fit. Unfortunately, the survey must have forgotten that all North Jersey baseball fans are already aligned with the Mets or Yankees who are located on the other side of the hudson river. So, I don't trust these surveys about where teams should move or anything. I think teams should stay where they are, where they have some sort of a fan base. Because no matter where they are, a team will only draw if they win.
