  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 20, 2010 -> 12:12 AM) So in essence, a young/cheap/talented/under team control for the next 6 years SP for two months of Jackson, only to trade him for a 30-year old that's had one truly great season and can't hit pitchers who throw with their left-hand. Awesome. I don't look at it this way. The loss of Dan Hudson is crappy, but he's a sunk cost. It's an asset we don't have going forward, but Jackson is. I know Granderson's 2007 is his only great year, but he's a consistently above average player with a good (not great) contract through 2012 or 13 (club option). I'd be thrilled to turn Jackson into Granderson.

I fail.
  3. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 04:33 PM) FDR, Churchill, Hitler, MLK, LBJ, Kissinger, and now potentially one of these choices. Depressing. So LeBron's won this before then.
  4. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Nov 17, 2010 -> 05:42 PM) Random spazz thought - does anyone think this possibility crossed Kenny's mind: trade Buehrle (and I generally loathe the idea BTW) for pretty much nothing but a couple useful prospects and salary relief, and use Danks in an Upton deal, and then take the money saved and ... gasp ... throw it at Cliff Lee? Because Danks in arb + Mark is around $20M and Cliff Lee + Upton is only a mil or two above that. And that's about the only scenario where I like trading Mark. I'd only do it to take on a better pitcher. If we essentially get Upton and Lee for Buehrle and Danks and the fans are upset, then they shouldn't be allowed to watch baseball anymore.
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 16, 2010 -> 05:48 PM) Ooops, I missed where he said Sale. Well I'd definitely give up one of Danks/Sale, Viciedo and Morel for Upton and another piece. I'd rather replace Morel with Escobar, because someone has to play 3rd this year.
  6. Hey, who wants to waste a Chris Sale team controlled year? /Don Cooper raises hand

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Nov 2, 2010 -> 05:02 PM) Absolutely. I think finding a good person to cut your hair is one of the tougher things to do. I'm always nervous going to a new place, but once I find someone I like, I won't go to anyone else. Same. Had the same guy for about two years.
  8. QUOTE (BearingPro @ Oct 11, 2010 -> 09:53 PM) I have a better chance of playing outfield with the WS and I have an artificial knee and hip That is the sort of range we prefer in our RFs.
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 8, 2010 -> 02:02 PM) "The Sox updated their roster by buying the most expensive Slappy McSlapperson out there for $18 mil a year." "They've now acquired 3/4 of the speediest slappiest hitters out there." In other news, the Twins win the 2011 ALC Division by 12 games." Crawford hit 19 homeruns this year.
  10. Thanks for the birthday wishes guys!
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 1, 2010 -> 01:15 PM) Very repetitive and simple. Perfect for MTV. Why do people even watch that channel?
  12. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 30, 2010 -> 10:32 PM) X is probably still the letter nobody wants to deal with, so count me out. You mad?
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 30, 2010 -> 08:45 AM) Try exercising. Or chemical assistance. Either way. Understand that I exercise 3-4 times a week, so it's most likely not that.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 29, 2010 -> 10:36 PM) Quite right slick. Really wish I could sleep right now.
  15. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 28, 2010 -> 06:42 PM) Just admit a win is a win, cliche as it may be Kevin Shaffer and company did a poor job, but the team came through.
  16. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Sep 27, 2010 -> 04:39 PM) Usually, no. Volkswagen: A sentence fragment that contributes.
  17. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 25, 2010 -> 03:53 AM) He's the next Joe Crede, only without as much power. He'll likely have a better average, but yeah, a below average bat and an above average glove. And I'm cool with that.
  18. I like that baseball and football have regular seasons that matter. If they expand, they can't go to 16 or they lose the value of the season. I could see 12 with 1st round byes, but that would be too much for a 30 team league IMO.
  19. I'm team Morel. We need some minimum guys, and he should be at least a league average starter if you factor defense.
  20. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Sep 24, 2010 -> 04:45 PM) I know, I know. Just looking for other opinions. 10 was a big upgrade from 09, and 11's demo is amazing, so I'd buy that. Non-sports games are evergreen anyway. I try not to pay full price for them when possible.
  21. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 08:12 PM) Good thread, guys. But I will say if the MVP is going to go to a player from a non playoff team then it's Miguel Cabrera without hesitation for me. He's been better than Konerko at, well, everything. Not defense, but I agree with you still. That good of a bat.
  22. Mauer missed about a month of time and still won it. Hamilton has been a better player in 2010 than Konerko, sad to say. Defense and position scarcity matter, and Konerko isn't even the best player at his own position.
