QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 10, 2010 -> 12:41 PM) I easily take the lead after waking up at 11:30 by pulling out a "20" on my license. 20 as well, but less than a month until 21.

QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 12:53 AM) Wow. They have 300 level Badminton? I'm taking a 101 level class on Denard SPAN, it happens.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 10:08 AM) NHL 11 came out yesterday!?!??! Cash money bye bye. Yep. Just in time to ruin my grades.

QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 07:08 PM) Regular unleaded for me. Usually whatever's open and near to my work/home at night time when I get off of work. That tends to be Phillips 66 or Shell. Sometimes, it's Speedway or Martin's (which is a station run by a local grocery chain). I love getting the gas discounts from buying groceries there, even if I shop ALDIs way more now.

Gordon Beckham's hand... (not) actually broken

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 08:52 PM) I guess some people just refuse to look at the facts and forever hate Teahan. I wasn't that big of a fan of him, but he has produced since coming back. This. And Viciedo is awful at 3rd and his lack of walk taking kills his offensive value. Teahen and/or Moral FTW. -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 6, 2010 -> 10:50 AM) Why would he DH a guy that was having back issues? Isn't he normally over cautious with banged up guys? Because he's the team's best hitter. I can't judge too much on issues like rest and how banged up guys are, because I don't have that info.

QUOTE (La Marr Hoyt HOF @ Sep 6, 2010 -> 07:11 AM) Starting Mark Kotsay in a must-win game in Boston (where he also sucked) when he has plenty of talent on the bench against Josh Beckett. I JUST DON'T GET IT. That was a lucky win... Call the bullpen, warm-up Robin Ventura to take over this team. As critical as I am of Ozzie, that was a forced situation, because Paulie couldn't play 1st Sunday (heck, he couldn't hit late in the game, and he's out today).

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 5, 2010 -> 06:54 PM) Oh wait....just looked at my sig again. Never mind.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 4, 2010 -> 01:39 AM) Do you really prefer the Yankees beating the Twins? I don't. Baseball was a lot more interesting from 2001-2008 IMO when there was more competitive balance and parity. Of course, replacing the Yankees with the Red Sox isn't such a great trade-off, but it's still nice to see other franchises get to the playoffs and actually win the World Series. It's kind of like the Big 10 during Bowl Season. I almost always cheer for the other B10 teams, although sometimes it's not easy to cheer for Michigan and especially Ohio State. If the Twins get in, I'm absolutely rooting for them because I want Thome to get a ring.

Ozzie Keeping Sox In Race Without a Bullpen

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 4, 2010 -> 12:44 AM) Except it isn't "giving away a free out". More often than not, they are successful. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/statisti...x.php?cid=68778 Here's a run expectancy table for 2010. Note how even assuming the sac bunt moves the runner 100% of the time, your expected run total decreases. -
Not really sure when I posted this, but I'm very upset that loud people woke me up today.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 08:33 PM) This getting washed out aint a sure thing ladies. I've never seen a game played where natural allergy relief was in the forecast. Bad omen, man.

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 01:29 PM) How about sneaking and looking down at MLB at-bat and damn near dropping an F bomb in your Business Law class when the Twins score a run against the Tigers late in the game? Involuntary fist pump due to Paulie's homer yesterday in my Anthropology class was a bit embarrassing, but I was in the back of the class, so I think I mostly got away with it.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 04:56 PM) What would you like to see instead? Number of balls bounced off head while playing RF? A couple of people claimed I was silly for comparing the 2 offensively. Please show me that one is superior at the plate over the other. The numbers are similar right now, I'll give you that, but Quentin's BABIP is an absurdly low .227, and his rest of season ZiPS projection puts his wOBA 26 points higher than Andruw's. Quentin should never wear a fielder's glove again, but he's a better hitter than his numbers this season show.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 04:34 PM) Carlos HR every 16.42 ABs RBI every 4.93 ABs .810 OPS Jones HR every 14.17 ABs RBI every 6.07 ABs .802 OPS Kind of bizarre stat choices, don't you think?
-
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 11:56 PM) It sucks that I've been following along all season long and now have no way to get Manny on my roster in MLB 10: The Show. Why not? Don't you have 30 team control on?

2010 Minor League Catch-All Thread
MattZakrowski replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in FutureSox Board
So Mark Gonzales just tweeted that Mitchell's going to the Arizona Fall League, does that mean he's made a faster recovery than expected? -
QUOTE (The Gooch @ Aug 30, 2010 -> 11:13 PM) I'm just going to go ahead and say that I almost hate that cell phones were ever invented. They are ruining our society. They cause more car accidents than drunk driving. You can't even hold a conversation with someone anymore without them doing something on their phone. Hell you can't even stand in line at the grocery store or sit on the train without hearing someone's life story while they talk on the phone. Sorry for ruining your thread with my rant. (In Billy Madison voice) Now go on with the weird things! Yep, and people texting in movie theaters are the worst.

Sim City 2000 for the PC was a blast. I tried the PS1 version, but the interface was too different.

Write a lot. Write whenever you can. Not only is it important to just have a good volume of content, but it's a great way to get better as a writer. What are you thinking about writing about?

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 26, 2010 -> 06:20 PM) He's arguably the best 3B in baseball. And that includes one of my man loves in Longoria. But like wite said, Zimmerman won't sniff the award with Pujols and Votto having the years they're having for winning teams. Yeah, that doesn't make it right, but I've basically made my peace with the award process.

Jackson is a stud, and we got the Rangers coming in hot in the 9th.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 26, 2010 -> 09:58 PM) Based on what we've seen so far, what would our ideal rotation be if we were to make the playoffs? Danks Floyd Jackson Buehrle
