QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Mar 15, 2008 -> 08:46 AM) To me the s*** that goes on in this threads is whats scary. Instead of just seeing this guy for what he is, and saying he is a fukcin nut job racist. People have to take sides right away, even to the point of some defending the dude. One has said he doesn't even see a problem with his speeches for christ sake. Would he really feel the same if this wasn't Obama's pastor and just some wacko that was caught on youtube?? I doubt it. Others want to turn the story to something else...Lets see who endorsed McCain...so we can rip him Let's turn to some conservatives who painted Obama a Muslim. It's hilarious and way f***in sad at the same time. I mean just look at the reactions here. Let's just try to imagine for a second this was just posted in the Buster because of the pastors comments and had no link whatsoever to Obama. I'm guessing the responses would be drastically different for some. It's like nothing can be wrong with your candidate...even some sick f*** like this that he has gone to for the last 20 years. You can't just say...I really like Obama and am still voting for him, I just wish he showed some better judgement here or I love everything obama, but this is f***ed up and I have to put one strike against my guy. I mean maybe I'm late to the political game. I never was big into politics really, but maybe this is just how it is. Defend at all costs. It seems like such common sense to me..someone is a wacko, I'm gonna call it like I see it. I can give a flying f*** if it happens to be the 'guy' I'm endorsing for something. I'm not gonna look the other way if I thought he showed bad judgement and that's exactly what I think Obama did. He showed terrible judgement here. He has ratcheted up the statements against this guy the last two days, because it has become a firestorm, but what has he been doing for the last 20 years. Why continue to listen to someone preach hate, if you don't believe any of it. This is not a crazy Uncle, as he has said. You can't choose your crazy Uncle...you are stuck with him. Obama chose to stay and listen to this guy preach hate and blame white people for everything from a poor black jesus to the 9/11 attacks. So yeah...I definitely question if Obama believes some of this stuff and I don't care if he is your favorite candidate...how can you not at the very least, give pause to some of this stuff. If this was my absolute favorite candidate, there is no way in hell I would just overlook this, or start searching for a defense or something, but maybe I'm just not as morallitcally corrupt yet. *Yes, I just made up the word morallitically. look for it to be added to webster shortly. I agree with a lot of this. However, I dont like any of the candidates and wont defend any of them. There wasnt even a single candidate from the beginning I agreed with more than one or two of their stances on certain things. When I say its a scary time to live in this country its because IMO no matter which of the three candidates get into the White House will put their stamp on the country by f***ing something up. There are so many terrible things going on in this country and the world and there isnt anything that regular people can do about it. Im sure someone will criticize me for thinking this when I will not vote and do "my part" to make a change but in all reality my vote doesnt count. I dont like any of the candidates and wont support any of them. Also, it doesnt matter what anybody does because Illinois is going blue no matter what. Finally, whats the point when within 8 years we saw an election where a candidate got more of the popular vote and lost the election so whats the point.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 07:16 PM) I was against this one at first. I have since changed my mind Ive never seen the original show and Im a big Hirsch fan but I have no idea what is going on there. Is it in the future, is he imaging it?

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 14, 2008 -> 04:59 PM) I'd suggest that the last 7 years or so have been scary. I am actually looking forward to ANY of these three candidates being in office come 2009 - though I'd be less thrilled if it was Clinton. This is politically speaking, of course - the economy is going to suck for a while. Its getting scarier every day. This country is going to s***. The s*** that goes on with politics these days is why this country fought the Revolutionary War.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 04:52 PM) I'm several days late, but it was everything I expected from the parade. Most notably the endless amount of drunken antics. It had been several years since my last appearance, and with all the great moments were distinct minders of why the parade is ridiculous. Bars are damn near impossible to enter. You can't openly drink alcohol within sight of Western. It's an adventure trying to find a place to piss. You're options are either find a place or wait in line for 15 minutes. Of couse, don't forget about everyone's favorite issue -- parking. Our group parked two blocks west of Kedzie and hiked through the cemetary along 111th. I felt sorry for the people visiting deceased relatives and having to deal with drunks trampling over gravesites and using the ground as trash. It was fun, though. For the first half of the parade we were in Kennedy park drinking everything within our bookbags. If only it had been warmer. My favorite memory of the day was walking through a business parking lot off 106th and Western, trying to cut through the alley to avoid walking traffic, and seeing a drunken, FAT ASS girl -- everything pulled down below her waste -- having her friend hold her up while she's leaning against a car pissing. I was out drinking on Saturday night and my boss was like, "Lets get a limo" We had an excursion limo pick us up in Elmhurst and take us to the parade and let us drink in the limo for about an hour before the parade started for 200 bux. I also didnt think the bathrooms were much of an issue this year, we camped out on the side of Keegans and there were three port o potties behind it which never had much of a line.

Anybody else not into FPS? All I play for the most part are sports games and I would have to rank Madden and NCAA about even in terms of my likability. I also like Fight Night Round 3 and Live.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Mar 6, 2008 -> 02:48 PM) The job is 3 pay grade higher than mine so I would assume somewhere around $85-105k salary with an end of the year bonus around 16-20%. Just a guess. I cant do any of that stuff but I like the pay, so count me in

QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Mar 4, 2008 -> 09:05 AM) I can't speak for Bucket list or into the wild, but for my money Juno is the best of all the others. NCFOM and TWBB just didnt do a god dam thing for me. I'm glad I was watching them at home for free. I watched most of Juno and it was much better than I thought it would be. Im looking forward to watching I am Legend and Into the wild.

Theres a flight attendant in my family and she flies to China and gets movies, a lot of the time while theyre still in theaters. They arent the ones that are filmed in theaters or anything though and they have the menus in the beginning of the dvds,

QUOTE(rowand's rowdies @ Mar 2, 2008 -> 08:32 PM) The Group formerly known as the Rowand's Rowdies, now the Dirty Thirties, would like to add our thoughts into this. As far as Beast goes, this is a very easy diagnosis. He has NEVER BEEN DRUNK Plain and simple. It's like saying you don't like ice cream before you try it. Or that people that get into fights are pussies when you haven't been in one. If you haven't tried something (short of certain drugs), don't rip people for doing it. Alcohol is the cause, but also the solution to many of life's problems as the great Homer Simpson once said. College is not all about learning from books and professors. It's about learning about life. Learn about other people, who you like, who you don't. It's about eating ramen noodles and barely affording books and finding a way to go out to the bar. You are 19, you are young. If you think just because it's illegal until you are 21 it is wrong, you are wrong. How many kids under 21 go fight and die for the country? How many under 21 year olds are given credit cards to abuse? How many are given excessive loans? They can smoke cigarettes, which are, and many times are worse. You, sir, are the Donatello of the Turtles. You need to be more like Mike. If you try drinking and don't like it after a few times, be the designated dave. We all need one of them. And we will pay for your food when you drive us to Taco Bell on the way home. Peace. College is also for selling your health insurance policy given to you by the school for 150 dollars cash, those tricky sons of b****es

QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 01:42 AM) Honestly, its a pretty simple installation, you need to attach the antenna to the roof (magnet) and run the wires from the roof and from the cigarette lighter into the docking station. They can probably install it... hide the wires a little better, but you can do it pretty easily yourself. I'm a shareholder, so buy 2 or 3 of those bad boys! Thanks

QUOTE(The Beast @ Mar 2, 2008 -> 09:34 PM) Off-topic: I couldn't help but read this title and giggle at the spelling since we had a whole thread about the word serious. Seriousl = Sirius(ly) = series(ly) Come on now, seriesly. Im not quite sure what you mean by that but what I am talking about is spelled Sirius

QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Mar 2, 2008 -> 09:15 PM) I don't have a Stiletto (I have an S50) but I listen to Howard everyday, and from what he has said about it.... it picks up Wi-Fi signals, so even if you are out of range of the Sirius satellite you can still get a signal. However, if you were using it at a gym I'm not positive you'd get a signal, unless there was a wi-fi station close by. The S50 sucks to be honest, you have to use it kind of like a TiVo.... and its ridiculously confusing to program. The S50 needs to be docked to pick up the signal so while its portable its not at all fun to use. From what I've heard, the Stiletto is supposed to be really good, it is essentially what the S50 should have been, and at the price your getting it at - it looks like a good deal. I wouldn't buy one to store MP3's on or anything like that, but if you wanted to listen the stations its well worth the money. Ya, one of my friends has that one and he was explaining to me how you have to record stuff. Do you know if you buy it at a place like Best Buy will they set up the car for you?

Anybody that has sirius able to help me out. Im planning on getting a portable unit to use while at work and at the gym and also want to be able to dock it in my car. Have any of you guys gotten a portable know if this is possible or hard to do. This is the unit I was planning on getting

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 1, 2008 -> 08:36 PM) I'll pay you to film the stupid s*** I do. I always wish I could see more of me drunk on tv. As long as it isn't me drunk getting arrested. Right when cell phones started having video capabilities me and my friends had a website where we posted all the videos we took when we were out. Man that was a great site.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 1, 2008 -> 08:03 PM) How is the blu-ray player in it? I'm thinking of getting a blu-ray player as a gift to myself for surviving my busy season (our client sign-off is Thursday and I've worked 80 hr's this week already and average about 65 hr's a week dating back to January 10th) but I was going to see if I would just be better off going with a PS3 (using it primarily as a blu-ray player and than on rare ocassions if a real good game came out I'd use it as that). I say that because I love my 360 and have all the controllers and a decent collection of games (so the only thing I'd ever get for PS3 would be a game I like that is specific to such system). Is the BluRay player real good on it or is it like the old school ps2 where the dvd player was completely sub-standard? IMO the player works extremely well. I havent used a regular unit though.

QUOTE(The Beast @ Feb 28, 2008 -> 11:40 PM) Yeah, especially since the debate is over. You know, I'm going to ask for a video camera for my birthday, go around campus and put drunk video tapes on youtube or blue box. Boy will they look stupid going out and having fun when you are following these strangers around video taping them because you think they are beneath you. POST THE YOUTUBE LINK!!!!!
