QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Aug 13, 2008 -> 12:48 PM) Yeah, like the tollway violation notice I got in March from 5 years ago, for a car I haven't ownerd in 7 years. Well according to Tex thats ok because they can make mistakes on parking tickets too.

If anyone on here says warsh instead of wash please tell me what the hell youre thinking.

QUOTE (Texsox @ Aug 12, 2008 -> 07:36 AM) Same with a parking ticket. How would you handle it if someone you loaned your car to parked it illegally and received a ticket? Wouldn't the same thing work for camera tickets? How is this different? First off, parking tickets arent moving violations, and you receive them at the time of the crime, not in the mail weeks later.

I think the Cubs are too hot too early. All its gonna take is for a team to get hot at the time like Colorado did last year. They seem to be unbeatable, its just not the best time for it because we know it wont last. Thats what I think made 05 even more unreal was how cold the Sox got going into the playoffs and then just flipped a switch once they started.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 03:27 PM) I never disagreed with your original point. If you look at my highlight points post, I think I made it clear. Maybe not though. My bad, I got my posts for you and Texsox mixed up.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 02:42 PM) The process is the same. The mistakes might be different. If the system itself is flawed because it generates more erroneous tickets than cops do, then change the camera system. Congratulations, youve circled the debate back to my original point

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 03:09 PM) Problem is, last time, the Republican alternative was Judy Baar Topinka. And remember, death wasn't an option. I still think that race for Governor, between those two worthless candidates, was possible the worst high office race ever as far as quality level goes. Terrible choices all around. As I recall, the Green party actually managed to get nearly 10% of the vote, which should tell you something. Which by the way means that, being over 5%, they get a nice chunk of money and media time in the next cycle automatically. I still choose death

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 03:10 PM) I think you are missing my point. The appeal PROCESS should be the same. The cameras will result in mistakes, and so do cops. Just different ones. Your point is on such a different level of what anyone is saying though. Assume youre not fighting the actual speed you were traveling but who was driving the car. If you get stopped by a cop, you wont have to go to court because they accused you of speeding when you werent even in your car, that is the difference. Sure, if you want to fight the speed youre traveling the appeal process would be the same, but not if you werent driving the car.

Vote republican next time

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 10:18 AM) Its not bulls*** b/c its exactly the same with an in-person ticket. I don't see the validity of an argument that says you don't like law enforcement because it may be flawed, so it shouldn't be enforced. These same issues come up with a real live cop too, so, the process has to exist, but the laws also have to be enforced. No its not. If someone else is driving your car the ticket will be in their name if they are pulled over so you, the owner of the car, will have nothing to do with it. The new way, they send the ticket to the owner of the car, so even if you werent in it, youre responsible for it.
-
QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 08:14 AM) That's bulls***. Why should I have to take the time out of MY hands to fight someone else's ticket becuase of a flawed ticket? What if this happens in another county? What if a parent down in Central or Southern Illinois loans a car to their kid for a trip to Chicago and they get one? You think it's "easy" for the parent to drive 6-8 hours just to come in and say, "that's not me in the picture?" Hiring a lawyer or burning the gas is still a big waste of money one way or another. The sad thing is most people won't care and will just pay the fine, or go into court asking for supervision on it (more $$$ for the government) just becuase they don't want to deal with the hassle of the courts. Thank you for bringing logic into my point instead of Tex's "Well dont speed"

I say crans but I never got the whole aigs, laig thing. I say egg, leg. Im pretty sure thats the correct way simply based on the spelling. And anyone who says melk should be shot.

QUOTE (Texsox @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 06:25 PM) So how exactly are they taking control of people's cars and forcing it over the speed limit? Magnetics? You know that first part of my post where it says:Its not about speed limits specifically? Since you have all the answers, what if someone else is driving your car?
-
For me its not even about speed limits specifically. Its these bulls*** reasons they claim they need to raise more money for. Where does this stop? Does anybody not think this is going to get out of hand? Not to mention the flaws in this system, it would be impossible to fight a ticket like this and it could have been someone else driving your car, a car next to you, an emergency etc. Then look at the history of Illinois' spending and at all the corruption going on. They are claiming they are going to use the money to stop shootings on the south side. I think most people agree that poverty has an enormous effect on crimes. So they are taking money away from working people and claim they are using it to stop crime. Taking $100 here and $100 there from people that are struggling to make ends meet is going to create more crime. If they want to enforce speeding with patrol cars more aggressively I have no problem with that at all but for Blowjobavich to make it seem like he doesnt have the manpower to police the south side is a joke. Maybe the cop that kicked the s*** out of the female bartender, who isnt in jail, could help out with this project.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 10:51 AM) You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means. Educate me then. Also, Tex, remember your stance on that lady that leased a car that she couldnt afford and there were discussion of a government bailout and you cried saying it wasnt her fault, the salesmen tricked her. You sleigh me.

Seriously, I would like some more of a liberal telling me about being accountable for my own actions. This stuff is gold.

QUOTE (Texsox @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 10:22 AM) Well then based on your logic, we have no one that can defend any laws since everyone breaks a law once in a while. For the record, I advocate for a guest worker law that will allow immigrants to come to the US and work legally based on available jobs. So what qualifications do you have that allows you to have an opinion on speed limits? Since you break the law, you can advocate getting rid of the law? Break the law, pay a fine. Don't break the law, don't pay a fine. But I guess some people in Illinois can't help themselves, they have to break the law and then the evil, corrupt government you elected there capitalizes on your weakness. It's not myyyyyyyyyyyyy fault, the government made me do it and now they are taking my money Not you specifically, liberals in general. For the record, I havent received one of these tickets or plan on getting one, I just know when things are going too far. So based on your theories, all ILLEGAL immigrants should be prosecuted by any means necessary right? When terrified idealist liberals have enough confidence in themselves where they dont need to hind behind the government to "equal" everything out is when people should be content.

QUOTE (Texsox @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 08:38 AM) Instead of an arbitrary number based on years of highway data, physics, road construction, traffic levels, and road design. Let's use a number based on how fast people want to drive and to accomodate the people who break the law. ah sure. Once people are comfortable with 70, some will go 75 or 80. Still others may not be comfortable at those speeds and will continue to drive 55 or 60. Well, since youre an expert on the years of highway data, physics, construction, traffic levels and road design Id like to hear the genius behind having the exits for Harlem and Austin on the left side of 290. Im not talking about Texas so to cop and use excuses like this doesnt prove anything. Illinois has enough problems with corruption and taking money out of the peoples hands to give to the government is bulls***. Unless you operate every aspect of your life crime free, and I mean everything, jaywalking, speeding, not using turn signals etc youre a hypocrite for defending this. Now, since youre such an advocate for ILLEGAL immigrants maybe you should take a page from your own book, if they didnt break the law there would be no problem, even though you disagree with the law.

NFL releases new code of conduct for fans
DrunkBomber replied to whitesoxfan101's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Its based on the combination of it becoming public that games have been fixed, including play off games and that not only have a few players gone overseas to play but that there have been talks about LeBron going overseas after his contract is up as well. -
Im watching the Cubs game and Ive heard for the second time that with the Cards and Sawks in town that the winners of the past 3 world series are in town. Is it me, or are the winners of the last 4 world series in town?

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Aug 9, 2008 -> 11:15 AM) Is that based on the Donaghy deal or the on-going myth that NBA games are fixed? Donaghy was fixing games so how is that a myth? He admitted it. -
QUOTE (dasox24 @ Aug 9, 2008 -> 03:16 AM) Which phrase do Chicagoans use? Just curious b/c those are pretty interchangeable with me, but I definitely say "mow the lawn" more often. And while I'm not from Chicago, the rest of my entire family is, so I assume I picked up one of those phrases from my Chicago roots. mow the lawn

We should have given the drugs back. If we are gonna bend over and take it in the ass we might as well let them keep their drugs.
