  1. Well....he struck out the side. Let's get a run and win this thing. At least Lillybad won't have to bat.
  2. QUOTE (scenario @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 03:28 PM) Melton is soooooo incredibly brutal at pronouncing players names. LOL. That's pronounced "Meal-tin", of course.
  3. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 11:56 AM) Smak - Entering the Harem (Serbian band, starting at 0:41) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhepLrdyCo4 Hey, that song by Smak is pretty cool. I'd never heard of them. I'm guessing that's from the '80s??
  4. Mine would change often probably. A few good song intros: Gotta Get Away - Blues Magoos Twilight Zone - Golden Earring Money For Nothing - Dire Straits
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 8, 2010 -> 05:06 PM) You dont get the chance to make this mistake twice with Ozzie and Kenny Exactly. So I hope Viciedo is made to understand this and it doesn't become a big issue.
  6. QUOTE (Real @ Mar 8, 2010 -> 03:16 PM) horse s*** call on that strikeout to Nix. Yeah, that was ball four.
  7. The usual outstanding job by Linebrink. I hate the guy like I haven't hated a White Sox player since probably Danny Wright.
  8. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Mar 5, 2010 -> 01:25 PM) Scrubby Lucy gives up a run for Mark. Lillybad almost throws it away. Lillybad....LOL! I like that...very fitting.
  9. Really weird for me seeing somebody in #11. I'm old enough that I saw Aparicio play, in fact he was boyhood idol. I'm not against Omar wearing #11, but it's kind of weird to see.
  10. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Mar 4, 2010 -> 09:35 PM) Hey everyone, for 5 seasons now, I've been running two 20-team leagues and both of my leagues are almost full (15/16) but I still have some spots left. Cowch and Big Ed Walsh played in my leagues last year, and they had a lot of fun. They returned this year as well for one of my leagues. If any of you want to join the league they're in, send me a pm and let me know. As I mentioned, Cowch and Big Ed Walsh played in my leagues last year, so they can vouch for my leagues. Also, I think a guy with the screen name of smashrot played as well. These leagues are COMPETITIVE! Even the best I was ever able to do was 2 3rd place finishes. I'll vouch for that. I came in 13th out of 20 though until the last couple of weeks I still had a shot at making the playoffs. This league was very competitive and I loved it. From top to bottom every manager remained active through the end. There was no winning because the opposing manager didn't set his lineups. If you like the competition like I do, I highly recommend Dons League. I always play in the Soxtalk leagues too and enjoy them but inevitably in every Soxtalk league a couple of guys wind up not being at all active. Heck, last year the commissioner wasn't even active.
  11. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 02:15 PM) Something to do with happy endings I think. Or happy beginnings. Head shops to answer a question, at least back in the day, were sort of a counterculture store where you could get drug paraphernalia, records, underground comic books and yes, even clothing.
  12. Used to be able to get a used pair of jeans at a head shop for $1. Who cared if they fit right.
  13. QUOTE (striker @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 10:41 AM) If you are arguing that he did fix them then tell me how he fixed them. Fill in this blank. Coop fixed Jenks by _______. Coop fixed Jenks by golly.
  14. Wow. This is awesome that you posted this. Thanks! I hope Thompson does go to Great Falls so that I can see him play.
  15. Lee Freeman November 8, 1949 – February 14, 2010 Lee Freeman is best remembered as a founding guitarist and co-lead singer for ’60s psychedelic rock band, Strawberry Alarm Clock. Formed in Glendale, California in 1967, the band scored a handful of charting hits, including their biggest, “Incense and Peppermints.” Freeman was still in high school when, in 1965, he co-founded and sang lead for local garage band, Thee Sixpence. Within a couple of years, the group evolved into Strawberry Alarm Clock, a name chosen to pay tribute to the Beatles’ “Strawberry Fields Forever.” “Incense and Peppermints” took a bit longer than most singles to become popular, but by the time it did, it propelled the group’s debut album to #11 on the Billboard charts. It ended up being their only album to chart. Over the next couple of years, they shared the bill with the likes of the Who, Country Joe & The Fish, the Beach Boys, and Jimi Hendrix. Strawberry Alarm Clock disbanded in 1971, but reunited permanently in 1982. In recent months, Freeman and the group were working on new material for potential release on a label owned by Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins. Lee Freeman died on February 14, 2010 following a long struggle with cancer. He was 60.
  16. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 23, 2010 -> 04:01 PM) kinda disappointed how low nunez is. Same here....and Bellamy too.
  17. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Feb 23, 2010 -> 03:05 PM) DH in both leagues. Pitchers are almost an automatic out. Its not a new thing either. In 1963 Koufax hit .064 in 124 plate appearnces. He had 7 hits. I'd rather watch an old and out of shape guy, than that. Even better (well, worse) Bob Buhl went 0 for 70 in 1962 (for the Cubs, hehe). I have mixed feelings about the DH. There's good arguments for it and against it. I do think that both leagues should be the same. Either the NL should use the DH or the AL should drop it. If I HAD to say yay or nay, I'd say nay...get rid of it.
  18. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 20, 2010 -> 09:18 AM) Nice little toe tapper... "The horror... the horror..."
  19. Gotta love that if you're a Clipper fan, huh? They do have fans, right?
  20. "Jungle Jim" Rivera Tom "Wimpy" Paciorek Harry "Suitcase" Simpson Clint "Scrap Iron" Courtney Ray "Cracker" Schalk Steve "Psycho" Lyons Lee "BeeBee" Richard Greg "Bull" Luzinski Marc "Booter" Hill
  21. I was in league 4, which I just happened to have won. My only request is that I be placed in a league where everyone will stay competitive. I don't want to commish only because I never have. Why start now?
