My condolences to the Reinsdorf family. I can hardly conceive what it is like for a parent to have to deal with the loss of a son or daughter even when that person might be 51. Just horrible.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 3, 2014 -> 08:41 AM) I still watch it and generally enjoy it, but last night's Walking Dead may have been the worst episode of the entire series The last two episodes have been kinda meh. Do we really need character development at this point in the show? The storyline is just going nowhere fast.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 2, 2014 -> 09:07 PM) The Oscars are the f***ing worst All award shows suck. I think the Oscars are one of the best of the worst.

I forgot about Lillibridge. I can't help but to still root for that guy. -

QUOTE (Wanne @ Feb 23, 2014 -> 09:52 PM) Just wanted to share these with some of you that had mentioned getting out and hiking some. This actually isn't too far to get to at all (Carefree Highway and 32nd St...it's Cave Creek Park. Takes us about half hour to get there). We did a 10.5-mile hike there yesterday and it was awesome. It might be for somebody that wants to do a nice hike...but get out away from the city and urban trails and experience some of the beautiful desert. Sorry to bore ya with desert pics and suck up bandwidth...but it's a great place to hike and pretty close to the city. Great pictures! Cave Creek was one of the spots my daughter and I hiked when we were at spring training 2 years ago. It was totally awesome and there was hardly anyone else there. A great experience.

AJ. I actually followed how he was doing pretty closely last year and miss him being on the Sox the most. Buehrle would be my second choice though I don't follow how he's doing all that closely. Quentin would be my third choice. -
Maria von Trapp, the namesake of her step-mother Maria on whose life The Sound Of Music was based, passed away this week at her home on Trapp Mountain Vermont. She was 99.

QUOTE (Tex @ Feb 14, 2014 -> 01:09 PM) Bummer. 71?! That's less than two decades away for me. Only 7 years older than me. I remember when he was a rookie with the Angels in 1961, came up when he was only 19 and was one of the best young players in baseball. I liked him when he managed the Sox. R I P

Sid Caesar, pioneer of television comics has died at 91. He certainly falls into that "gee, I didn't know he was still alive" category.

QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jan 30, 2014 -> 10:14 PM) Watched the first season of Vikings throughout the week. As much as I wanted to like it, it's just not very good. To each their own. I loved the show. I think the acting was very good and the sets and scenery fantastic. Good entertainment.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 30, 2014 -> 09:14 AM) Who were the other members? LHP Wayne Edwards was one, I think. Radinsky didn't play with them, did he? I know at one point both those guys played in a band with him.

Jack McDowell will manage the Ogden Raptors in the rookie Pioneer League this summer. They're a Dodgers affiliate.

Twins hat. But seriously, Indians hat without question and should be first ballot. It's cool enough for me that another guy with solid White Sox connections will be going in and he will be going in.

Rest in Peace Pete. Thanks for all the great music!

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jan 25, 2014 -> 06:00 PM) Wow, i had completely forgotten Starks was with the Bulls. Goes to show how memorable his Bulls career was. What did he end up playing, 5 or 6 games for them tops? Yeah, I thought it was 1 or 2 games. I HATED that dude from his Knicks days. Much more than I hated Rodman from his Pistons days. I came to love Rodman anyway as I guess most Bulls fans did.

99% of the time(Jamie Navarro/Sox and John Starks when he was very briefly a Bull are a few exceptions I can think of) I'm against booing your own team players/mgr, whatever. They're our guys. Gripe about them maybe sure but show them respect for crissakes. It doesn't matter how much f***ing money they get paid. What the hell does that matter?!

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 24, 2014 -> 02:44 AM) So, I really wanted to go to the induction and see it in person. But with the ridiculous cost of hotel/airfare/car rental, travel and the time off of work, I really can't swing it. What I started to think was that there must be a ton of people in the same boat, and everyone will want to see this, and the atmosphere of watching it with like-minded people would make it even more enjoyable. Do you think the Sox would be willing to set up something like an induction party in the bullpen bar or somewhere similar where the speech will be carried live? I've already sent an email to Brooks Boyer, but who knows if I'll get a response or if it will even be read Would anyone here be interested in something like that? Very cool idea! Being that I'm in f***ing Utah I'd be unable to attend but would sure go if I could.

Very nice and it's not every year we have a WHITE SOX guy going into the HOF! I love it!!
