QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Oct 10, 2013 -> 02:54 PM) Astronaut Scott Carpenter, one of the original "Mercury 7." John Glenn is the last one left. He's 92.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Oct 10, 2013 -> 12:46 PM) I'd be interested in either. I'm sure Zoom's league may be the more realistic option though. I'm in Zoom's league. We currently have only 4 teams. Please join!

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 7, 2013 -> 02:04 PM) The girl wants to be mostly naked and smoke reefer. Oh well My kinda girl back in the day but of course now I'm old and Miley Cyrus nauseates me. From her crappy tv show which I couldn't help but view a bit because my youngest daughter was a young teen then to her music which sucks. I haven't watched SNL in well, decades but I saw the clip of the "comedy skit". Plain and simple it wasn't funny. There was one funny moment when "Obama" appeared at the curtains. It was more or less a Miley Cyrus "humorous" video, only not humorous.

For me the Fighting Illini just because I come from Illinois. When I was a kid the Loyola Ramblers had a great basketball team and I went to a few games. Later DePaul was THE team and for awhile when the Bulls were pretty bad I swear DePaul was more popular. These days, my youngest son went to the University of Utah and I went to a number of football games. Had a total blast. I live only maybe 2 miles from BYU but I hate them, or should I say loathe them. Out here there is a very intense rivalry between the U and BYU. For many, it's a Mormon and anti-Mormon thing. When it's all said and done I still have a soft spot for Illinois schools even though I haven't lived in Illinois since the late 70's.

I was only able to see the first quarter but it sure was great to see Rose out there again. And god I love Jimmy Butler's ability to get to the line!

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Oct 1, 2013 -> 02:54 PM) I will most likely go back and try to figure out PTC winners but in all reality I think the 4 or 5 of us who stuck with this thing through thick and thin are all winners. After all in the end it's just a number Agreed. It's just for fun and because it's just for fun I wish more played along. Granted it was a miserable season to follow, but what's the big deal to take a minute to pick a PTC? Hopefully we continue the tradition next year and have more participants. End of "rant".

Never heard of em. You've never heard of Badfinger!?!?!?!?! For shame. And enjoy. Fun Fact: One of their guitarists hanged himself. Fun Fact?! Maybe a poor choice of words.

QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Oct 2, 2013 -> 04:03 PM) I think I'm the only person who likes Hawk AND Stone. Aside from announcing, anyone who has ever met Hawk knows he is a great person. Really, really great guy. I will be very sad when he decides to give it up. I like Hawk and I like Stone......not together though. I'm amused by some of the posts from those who seem to HATE Hawk. Are you guys seriously White Sox fans?

A lot of wrong going there and a half-hour chase in NYC? Where the hell were the cops?

Wasn't able to watch. I appreciate all the in-game updates.

QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 29, 2013 -> 03:40 PM) The Sox had to match the Cubs the last 27 games to get the 3rd pick. The Cubs went 9-18. No Problemo. The Sox went 7-20. We out-sucked the Cubs. Pitiful but in this instance, that's a good thing.

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Sep 29, 2013 -> 09:25 AM) It's scapegoat time on the Southside. Can't possibly be Robin's fault. He's even clowning it up in garbage time. Gotta put the worst hitter at leadoff, L Garcia, because he has speed! It's the last game of a dreadful season. Who the f*** cares who's batting where? Besides Little Leury is a prototype leadoff hitter.

QUOTE (Tex @ Sep 24, 2013 -> 01:27 PM) Bevington fell all the way to independent ball. He rolls though my hometown everyone in a while. I've talked to him a time or two. Nice guy. I met him too. He was a jerk, but he may have had a bit to drink.

QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 28, 2013 -> 09:21 PM) Holds are necessary due to the absurd blown save for middle relievers Good point.
-
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Sep 28, 2013 -> 08:43 PM) That's a fun number for him to reach, although I think we all agree how stupid the "save" stat really is. I think Holds are an even stupider stat.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 28, 2013 -> 08:10 PM) No triple digit loss season. Sox win 6-5. Celebrate!

QUOTE (ChiSoxFan05 @ Sep 27, 2013 -> 03:42 PM) If Sale finishes with a 3.05 ERA or more I'm gonna be so angry Chris Sale 5.1 9 4 4 1 5 0 1.07 3.07.....DOH!
-
QUOTE (ChiSoxFan05 @ Sep 27, 2013 -> 03:53 PM) He's pitched significantly better this year than last, and if his ERA is identical or worse then last year, he won't have much to show for it except for WHIP Yes. Which is why he'll be even angrier than you. He must be really ticked off about this year on several levels.
-
QUOTE (ChiSoxFan05 @ Sep 27, 2013 -> 03:42 PM) If Sale finishes with a 3.05 ERA or more I'm gonna be so angry He'll probably be even angrier than you. I could pretty much care less. I got over my anger about anything concerning this miserable season well over a month ago.

Konerko to address media this afternoon
BigEdWalsh replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 27, 2013 -> 03:40 PM) So winning another ring is not a priority to him. Good for him. I like that he may be putting loyalty over the quest for another ring. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 27, 2013 -> 02:58 PM) Konerko said the only place he'd consider being a part-time player is with the White Sox. Awwwwww -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 27, 2013 -> 10:15 AM) I never get sentimental about this stuff, I'll always love Paulie for what he did here but I hope he's retiring. I ALWAYS get sentimental about this stuff. I cry easily. I cry at all weddings even when I haven't known either the bride OR the groom. I'm a real softie. I've cried watching retirement announcements of players I didn't even like. -
QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Sep 26, 2013 -> 12:30 PM) Don Kessinger Eric Soderholm Richard Dotson (I assume Hoyt was a star) Bob James Gary Redus Ellis Burks Mike Sirotka Danny Wright Jeff Liefer (only because he hit a huge homer at a game I was at) Danny Wright would make my most disliked list. No offense intended.
