QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 06:27 PM) Not liking his coke history Why not? Things go better with coke.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Dec 4, 2013 -> 03:56 PM) Saw a couple of mentions for Masters of Sex. I liked it, but it was a little to bland for me. I've never been so simultaneously impressed with an actor (Sheen) but annoyed with their character. If I didn't have so many other shows going on in the fall I might have kept it up, but something was getting cut. I lost interest midway through the first episode.

QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 4, 2013 -> 07:50 AM) We went from rebuilding to a retirement home Oh well, this isn't too big of a deal in my opinion. Sox are gonna be one of the worst teams in the majors next year anyways, hopefully PK can go out on a better note than he would have this year. Yep. Pretty much expected this and I only hope Konerko hits well going out in style. Oooooooh if only Dunn could be dealt!

Just because I was curious.....Frank hit .366 for his career against Mussina; .458 OBP. Against Clemens, .267, .384 OBP. Against Morris .333, .529 OBP. Some other interesting ones: against Bartolo Colon .483, .605 OBP. Johan Santana .476, .577 OBP. Greg Maddux (4 plate appearances) .000, .250 OBP. Tom Glavine (3 plate appearances) 1.000; a single and two BBs. Just for fun: Scott Linebrink 1 plate appearance....a solo HR. Bruce "Cy" Chen 2 plate appearances .000 (of course).

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 10:55 PM) Tonight's outcome is about as ideal a scenario that I can come up with for the Bulls. 1: Luol continues his hot streak - trade value boost. 2: Taj is showing, at least temporarily, that he can be more than a 8 and 6 guy. 3: Snell didn't do too much tonight. But he's still getting valuable experience that should only help him later. 4: Bulls lose Perfect night Precisely, though I'd rather have seen Snell getting more time in the overtimes than Dunleavy.

QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 09:31 PM) New Orleans kindly obliging anyone involved with or watching this game with the mercy killing. I thought it was a fun game to watch. Frustrating of course, but fun.

I'd love to be there to see Frank inducted. When that happens it will be one of my all-time happiest White Sox moments. Would you believe I drove through Cooperstown once and didn't go to the Baseball Hall of Fame?! It was in the summer of 1974 and I was on my way (the scenic route) to see my brother who was stationed at the naval base in Groton, CT. That's a gorgeous area but I didn't have time to stop, though I sure wanted to.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 11:59 AM) Am I the only one who heard this news and immediately asked "Who?" No. I'm a hermit. I've never seen a Fast and Furious movie.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 27, 2013 -> 07:30 PM) Salty Wieters, hehehe. I'd take Wieters over Salty any day, simply because I think he's way better defensively.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 10:22 PM) Ha, I brought that up with some buddies today, I've rooted against the Sox and Bulls almost completely this year, how f***in weird. How f***ing depressing. Last year, the Bulls were fun to watch, at least I thought so. This year, not so much, and it's only getting worse. Ugh.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 10:16 PM) Remember when the Bulls were picked as contenders in 07? Yeah, they won 33 games. Remember when this year's Bulls were picked as title contenders? Yeah, they're also going to win around 33 games. Of course, there's also the similarity that two Chicago prospects will come out of the draft the following year. Do your magic, NBA commissioner's office. After watching the last two games, 33 wins seems very far-fetched. On a positive note, I was going to go to the game tonight but chose not to, so I'm still perfect for Utah.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 10:08 PM) Go 0 for the rest of the season for all I care. We need a high draft pick to turn this franchise around. Sounds so familiar.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Nov 13, 2013 -> 10:00 PM) Someone on MLBTR mentioned a Santiago + Beckham for Wieters swap. I think that's fair. Let's do it.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Oct 26, 2013 -> 02:19 PM) I suppose I'll just copy and paste what I've already put on Facebook..... Happy 8 year anniversary to the greatest baseball team the city has Chicago has seen in very long time, certainly in my lifetime. I can vividly remember being at BW3s with my family watching the WS clincher as the ball bounced over the head of Jenks, and Uribe corralled it and fired across his body to record the final out and return glory to the city. Possibly the greatest playoff team in postseason history, anchored by one of the greatest playoff rotations. Here's to the legends of yesteryear and the future heroes of today. Happy 8 years, '05 Chicago White Sox. Don't stop believin'. I can't believe I got teary-eyed watching that. Jeez, it still gets to me.

Sox hire Todd Steverson as their new hitting coach
BigEdWalsh replied to Boopa1219's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I had no idea who he is, but I like what I read about him.
