2007 Post ASB MLB Catch-All Thread
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to Chisoxfn's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 08:17 PM) It's a lot of fun watching a meaningful game at Coors. It's one of the places I probably see the least amount of games on tv. What?!?!? Sunday night baseball is never at Coors? Are you suggesting that Fox Saturday baseball does not have a lot of games at Coors? /green Seriously, it is a very nice looking park. -

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 08:11 PM) He'll do that only if you can top the ignorance you showed with the ESPN comment. That's going to be tough to accomplish, better get thinkin'. Yes, because ESPN always devotes equal time to all teams. Besides, it was half in jest. -

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 07:39 PM) Thats a real shame, as the Rockies have one of the best lineups in the game. 2-7, they match up with anyone. Perhaps if ESPN spent a little less time worshipping at the alter of the Red Sox and Yankees, I might know a little more about them. But just like the Chicago media puts the White Sox 2nd, the national media pays almost no interest to an alleged baseball team in Colorado. -

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 07:06 PM) I believe that Brewers Management has already said he'll be back next season. The owner (I forgot his name)'s quote was "Yost is fine" a few days ago. I was hoping there is more to the story, but maybe not. -

That team made 13 fewer errors than any other team in the majors, and they were simultaneously #4 in putouts. It sure looks like they're making up for their team's lack of really dominant pitchers by having pitchers who let batters put the ball in play & count on their defense to do the job. And those numbers sure suggest to me that it worked. Interesting. Admittedly, the Rockies gain about as much of my interest as the Washington Nationals and the crumbs than built up at the bottom of the toaster. That being said, it still amazes me that they made it this far with such borderline pitching. -

Just looking at the Rockies roster, they have Francis and then a huge drop off in starting pitching. Their #2 guy is really Josh Fogg. If the D-Backs are all pitching, the Rox appear to get by mostly on offense. -

Just a reminder Soxtalkers, if we have learned nothing else this season, it is not back any team this year. We made the Brewers s*** away their 7 game lead and s*** all over themselves. Let's not officially back or endorse any team for these playoffs. in '08 -
The title is redundant. It is a given that both the Cubs and Mariotti are stupid.
-
Just saying, but never should be an option in the poll. The stupid Cubs still haven't got past the goat thing, why forgive Bartman.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 10:32 PM) Yet here we are, 14 innings later, and he's only better than Dewon Day. This is yet another "Hellen Keller" move made by the Sox this year. Santo, you scared the hell out of me when I saw this thread bumped up. I thought we actually signed this slug to a longer deal.

Santana in the NL West and facing the Sox once every three years or so would be ideal. -
I really do not think most people would even know Eli existed if his last name was not Manning.

It is possible that the Bears could still be 2 games out of rist be the end of the day amd tie with the mighty Lions. How would have thought it?

I suspect most of Wisconsin has already given up on the Brewers and was watching the Packers today. So since an entire state has forgotten about the time, I think it is time we did too and closed this God foresaken thread. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 22, 2007 -> 06:54 PM) When they let us wear Cubs stuff to work, I'm going to have to go purchase the "Wrigley: World's Largest Gay Bar" t-shirt. I got a few of those for stocking stuffers at Christmas this year, Ha ha! -

Offseason to do list for Brewers: 1) Bullpen 2) 2 Decent catchers not named Miller or Estada. One of which has to be ready to start, play defense, and hit 3) After Yost is fired, release his home address to the media and encourage fans to egg his house. -

I can't believe he swung 3-1. He should be fired right after Yost. -

If the Brewers could get ahold of Toby Hall they would lead MLB in catchers that absolutely suck.
