  1. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 09:13 PM) The Colts/Bears season opener may have 140 attempted passes. Cutler will pass for 12 touchdowns. Luck will check down 54 times. Luck to Fleener about 20 times. That should be an interesting debut for Luck going against the Bears D. Welcome to the NFL Andrew. Hardin Pro Day video:
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 02:38 PM) Albert Pujols broke his 0-for-21 slump Thursday afternoon, singling in a loss to the Rays. Pujols was thrown out trying to extend that single into a double, however, so there's not much cause for celebration. The $250 million man is batting just .224/.280/.316 with no home runs and only four RBI in 19 games this season, and appears to be headed for a career-worst campaign. The high-priced Angels are in last place in the American League West with a 6-13 record. 20 games down, 0 HR's, 4 RBI, OPS below .600 in 80 AB's. The Angels are only 1 game ahead of KC for the worst record in baseball. Wow. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 08:34 PM) Bobby Abreu: he gone. I wonder if that means Mike Trout will be joing Harper in getting called up to the majors Edit: And there it is, Mike Trout has been called up Abreu is gone and he had a comparable OPS and more RBI than Pujols in half the AB's.
  3. Wow only 7 games for Artest? Miami rests everyone and loses, Bulls get #1 seed, hold tie breaker over Spurs. First round matchup will be either NY or Philly.
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 06:16 AM) Similar thing happened to start last season. OPS by month in 2011: April: .794 May: .752 June: 1.197 July: .955 August: .951 September: .954 His OPS is .617 after another 0-4 night. I would not consider this similar to anything; that is almost 140 pts lower than his worst month last year. Now up to 69 ABs, 0 HRs, and still 4 RBI. Also, 0-15 in his last 4 games.
  5. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 11:06 PM) Yes sir, I still think he will put up numbers but this is definitely odd. Yeah, but it will be awhile before he gets to see pitchers for a 2nd time. I am surprised this is not bigger news considering everyone sees him as the best hitter in this era. He is also batting .154 with RISP. I am starting to think the dip we saw last year from him was no fluke. His batting average dropped 35 pts from his career average, and his OPS was down over 150. If you continue that trend into this year and add the league switch (which some players have struggled with), it is not out of the realm of possibility that he hits about .270 this year with about 25 HRs and an OPS of about .800. Not bad for most players, but a terrible year for Pujols.
  6. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 10:56 PM) Their goalie was hot, our goalie was bad. The 1st period they played tonight was about as good a period as you'll see any hockey team play ever. Add some bad luck and bad officiating to the mix as well. Everything seemed to be going against the Hawks in this series. Crawford playing horrible even with 20 or less shots against in 3 games, Hossa getting injured, a brutal PP and PK, and horrible non-calls against the Coyotes. Pretty hard to win with that much going against you.
  7. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 09:50 PM) So since no one has said it yet... welcome to AL Albert Pujols ? 10 percent of the season, 16 games, 65 AB's, 0 HR's and 4 RBI. Seems like he only has warning track power now, very odd.
  8. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 10:32 PM) In the post game presser, Q said Hosa "isn't doing too well" and was getting choked up. That's bad news. Yeah, that is not good at all. That would be brutal if it was a career ending hit due to concussion symptoms.
  9. Ahhh, this lessens the pain of the Hawks loss. Peavy with a gem and looking stronger every outing. AJ calling another great game.
  10. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 10:24 PM) Smith had a concussion at the beginning of the year and missed a lot of time and then suffered another injury recently that put him out. Ah ok, I just remember him getting sent down in January and didn't remember seeing him back up again.
  11. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 09:58 PM) A lot of people were very happy to dump Campbell's salary, but boy could we have used him this season. And boy could we have used the funds we got from freeing up some salary a lot better. Yeah all that depth surely paid off. Some new signings: Brunette -12, O'Donnell -6, Morrison -5, Mayers -4 = brutal Then Crawford and Frolik 3 year extensions, Crawford is worst starting goalie in the NHL and Frolik was -10 The only bright spots were Carcillo and Montador who both ended the season injured. Also, what ever happened to Ben Smith?
  12. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 09:56 PM) 0-0 after the first period, you knew the Hawks were doomed. Smith stole one. I don't even want to know what Crawford's SV% was tonight. .800 on 20 shots.......
  13. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 09:38 PM) As I said b4, the Hawks need a new Goalie but they also need a Brent Sopel type Dman. Not old and slow but a stay at home shot blocker. A new goalie is an understatement. Crawford's season totals: 31st in GAA, 35th in SV%, and 0 shutouts. The Hawks did not shutout a single team the entire year. They were the only team without at least one shutout. The Hawks were in the bottom five for the Power Play and Penalty Kill, that needs to be fixed as well.
  14. An embarrassing performance by the Hawks at home in the playoffs, losing 3 straight. They had only 8 regulation losses at home all year, and now lose 3 straight to the freakin Coyotes? Officials were not much better in the series, it seems like the Coyotes could literally mug the Hawks without getting a call. The Coyotes got away with 4-5 calls a night whereas the Hawks might get away with 1-2 non-calls. The Hawks really missed Hossa. Crawford needs to go. Hawks need a little more size, they were manhandled all series, and for some reason they looked slow. Also, what an absolute atrocious Western Conference with the Hawks, Red Wings, Canucks, and Sharks all gone. Now the Hawks get to watch Versteeg, Campbell, and Kopecky.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 07:55 PM) Still no side shot showing if Ryan did swing or not? A pretty close call, looks like he went a little too far: You can barely see the shadow of the bat on the ground.
  16. A sticky thread dedicated to Sox pics. I remember a few years ago, someone would post the large CBS pics in a thread. It would be nice to have one place to view a pictorial history of the Sox season where you could go back and view thumbnails with links to pics throughout the season. Sort of a year in pictures with maybe a quick summary or recap for each game. Just a thought. Many cool and unique pics get buried inside 50 page threads.
  17. QUOTE (zenryan @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 10:48 AM) that's a linesman, not a ref. and from the video it looks as if he is looking back at the blue line and only sees Hossa/Torres after the initial contact. Since the league is going to allow players to disrespect each other more, maybe its time that the linesmen can report to the refs on if they see something that results in a stoppage b/c there is a player laying motionless on the ice. I'm sorry, an "official" was 5 feet away. Here is a slightly better pic, and if you watch the video, he clearly saw the hit.
  18. I thought this was interesting from yesterday's game recap: AJ calls a great game and has had a lot to do with the success of the pitching staff since he's arrived. Almost every outing, pitchers are praising him for that. I would like to see him brought back.
  19. QUOTE (StatManDu @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 10:22 AM) A few gems on Adam “Medicine Ball” Dunn *Five RBI game Friday was the first by a White Sox player in Seattle since Carl Everett on Aug. 1, 2003 *Multi-HR game Friday was the first by a Sox player in Seattle since Jim Thome on Aug. 10, 2007 *Friday Dunn had two homers and five RBI which equaled his HR total and was half of his RBI total of April 2011. *Friday was Dunn’s first 5-RBI game since Aug. 28, 2010 vs. St. Louis *Friday was Dunn’s multi-HR game since Sept. 24, 2010 vs. Atlanta StatMan, when was the last time Dunn was intentionally walked?
  20. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 10:20 AM) That is about right considering his history. Here is a pretty good explanation of the suspension: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-dad...37IRGJmhhI5nYcB Basically multiple infractions on one hit, and repeat offender.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 20, 2012 -> 02:11 PM) http://espn.go.com/chicago/nhl/story/_/id/...phoenix-coyotes I still can't believe there was no penalty on the play. It is funny how the refs said no one saw the hit, yet looking back at the video, one of the refs is looking right at the play from 5 feet away and actually shields himself (00:38 secs into video): http://www.sportsgrid.com/nhl/marian-hossa...ed-off-the-ice/
  22. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 09:50 PM) So since no one has said it yet... welcome to AL Albert Pujols ? 14 games and 58 AB's without a HR and only 4 RBI.
  23. Going back to the first game of 2011, Dunn now qualifies for the batting title with a .164 Batting Average and over 502 PA's. Congrats big man! He also crushed his next closest competitor by .046 pts. I find it amazing that he has not been intentionally walked since joining the Sox. http://www.baseballmusings.com/cgi-bin/Com...P=0&MinCI=0
