  1. Ugh. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpag...517&id=5075 http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=Aina...p&type=lgns
  2. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 02:46 PM) So, wait, Bourgeois is not on the 40 man so he's rule 5 eligibile...and now the 40 man is full so it's impossible for us to sign anyone without dropping a player first? Hopefully Bourgeois will take the spot of Cintron.
  3. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 08:07 AM) Let me dream here.... 1) Owens, LF 2) O. Cabrera, SS 3) Konerko, 1B 4) Thome, DH 5) Dye, RF 6) Hunter, CF 7) Crede/Fields, 3B 8) Pierzynski, C 9) Richar, 2B DAMN!!! Looks more like a bad dream. You are not shooting too high. An uprgade at 2B or LF would be nice. Remember we downgraded at Starting Pitching, and our bullpen is still weak. That lineup is an improvement, but it doesn't account for the other weaknesses.
  4. With the trade for O. Cabrera, it seems now that Uribe will be moved to free up more cash for the eventually signing of a big ticket FA. T. Hunter seems to fit that mold. So what can we actually expect to get for Uribe and who is looking for SS help? I found this: The best part is in bold. http://www2.tbo.com/content/2007/nov/20/sp...r-moves/?sports

  7. Was there any mumblings of this trade prior to it happening, or was this another one of Kenny's under the radar deals? I don't recall anything mentioning OC before. When LAA was linked with the Sox as trading partners, it always was someone else. If that trend continues, Kenny is going to make more moves that no one is seeing yet.
  8. Looking at his numbers, he has pretty good speed. 23 SBs in 84 games at Char, and 15 SBs in 43 games at Birm in 2007. He will be 26 on opening day. Late bloomer?
  9. QUOTE(PAUL KONERKO 14 @ Nov 17, 2007 -> 07:19 AM) To be realistic: Defense C: AJ Pierzynski 1B: Paul Konerko 2B: Robinson Cano SS: David Eckstein 3B: Josh Fields LF: Coco Crisp CF: Torii Hunter RF: Jermaine Dye DH: Jim Thome Lineup 1. Coco Crisp 2. David Eckstein 3. Jim Thome 4. Paul Konerko 5. Tori Hunter 6. Jermaine Dye 7. Robinson Cano 8. AJ Pierzynski 9. Josh Fields Rotation 1. Mark Buehrle 2. Javier Vazquez 3. Jon Garland 4. Yovani Gallardo 5. Gio Gonzalez Bullpen CL: Bobby Jenks RP: Boone Logan RP: Matt Thornton RP: Ehren Wasserman RP: Matt Wise RP: Carlos Marmol There are 1-2 dream picks, but I really want Marmol. Realistic? Wow. Gio starting in 2008? Cano, Crisp, Eckstein, and Hunter? We will be lucky if one of those happen.
  10. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20...7&fext=.jsp The Sox are linked to the following players: David Eckstein, Torii Hunter, Mike Lowell, Kaz Matsui, and Aaron Rowand. Hot Stove Daily from Yahoo Sports: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=sh-c...o&type=lgns Players mentioned: Torii Hunter, Aaron Rowand, Carl Crawford, Tad Iguchi, Marcus Giles, Kaz Matsui, Miguel Cabrera
  11. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 09:01 AM) It could also be that he doesn't want a young stud breathing down his neck if he struggles a little. Brian Anderson?
  12. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 04:57 AM) Meeting. So I guess he is not coming to Chicago. From the article:
  13. AJ will more than likely rebound from last season.
  14. Is it possible to merge this with almost the exact same thread in TW?
  15. Looks like this is heating up: http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7432422 Left Field?
  16. So are they now Rays of sunlight, or the the Devil Rays for short? Also, now everyone named Ray is going to want some royalties.
  17. David Riske filed for Free Agency. He has been pretty consistent over the last couple years, and pitched very well for the Royals last season.
  18. http://devilrays.scout.com/2/700002.html
  19. Do we have as many question marks going into next season as we did in late 2004? We lost Maggs to Detroit, CLee to Milwaukee, Valentin to LA, and Loaiza to NYY (at trading deadline). We added AJ, Iguchi, Pods, Dye, Hermanson, Vizcaino, El Duque, and Everett (again), to name a few. On 2005 Opening Day, we had 5 new positional starters and a DH, along with 2 new starting pitchers (if you count Contreras), plus a couple of new relievers (Hermie, Viz). Are we going to have 9+ new faces for Opening Day 2008?
  20. QUOTE(palehose23 @ Nov 8, 2007 -> 02:52 AM) For all the people who want to watch the youngsters develop remember this fact. Only 3 players were drafted, cultivated in the system, and played on the 2005 World Series team Aaron Rowand Joe Crede Mark Buerhle all the rest were thru trades and free agency. GET MIGGY C NOW!!! Rowand is gone and Crede looks all but gone as well. That leaves MB as the Sole Survivor.
  21. At least this frees up some cash for other transactions, and it was less than expected.
  22. QUOTE(3E8 @ Nov 6, 2007 -> 07:16 PM) I participated in a Miguel Cabrera 3-way trade and all I got was this lousy Joe Crede We can throw Andy Gonzalez in there as well.
  23. It seems that maybe a 3-way deal could be worked out with the Sox giving up Crede to the Yankees, Cabrera to the Sox, and everything else to the Marlins.
  24. QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 6, 2007 -> 07:07 PM) Give up anyone and everyone in order to get him. What would be a realistic package?
  25. http://www.palmbeachpost.com/marlins/conte...106marlins.html From Palm Beach Post: If this was to happen, would Fields shift to LF? Who would the Sox package in a trade like this?
