  1. What? Just because I have grown up in the ghetto on the South side and have heard Obama's promise of change before I cant post a thought?
  2. Even if you re-read the link he provided the man you posted the trash from his blog is apologizing. I think people should responsible for the mis- information he spreads. The guy who made that comment does not work for Hillary at all but a group for United Health Care, so because Hillary and John Edwards were working for UHC that means he worked with both, but he is not one of their campaign. It is Obama suporters quick to jump in the lap of a politician they dont know, Obama, and believe the media's misrepresentation of another, Clinton. I grew up on the South Side, I know Obama. A big talker with no results. Those Robert Taylor Homes plans, to make those on welfare and government housing feel "they finally can be fit with regular society" never materialized from him. Instead they get shipped from Chicago to Tinley, Downstate into other projects. I cannot remember one time where he can to my doorstep with big ideas, getting everyone excited and actually did anything about it. Radiation in your drinking water, I will fight for you. Special interests come into equation, Obama backs down and now Exelon is off the hook, because he took the teeth out of his own agenda. Some leader, paper champion.
  3. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Feb 1, 2008 -> 04:35 PM) People working with Clinton campaign compare Obama ad to a Nazi rally http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/020...are_mailer.html pathetic. but i wouldn't expect anything less from the Clintons or their cronies. Clinton Campaign on Health Care Conference Call 2/1/2008 2:51:42 PM Earlier today, the Clinton campaign held a conference call to discuss the Obama campaign's negative health care mailer, which is reminiscent of Harry and Louise ads used by industry to defeat universal health care in the early 1990s. At the end of the call, Howard Wolfson made the following statement: "I heard someone make a reference to a march in Skokie in comparison to the photograph in the mailer which is not a comparison that we would make. And everyone on the call is obviously very passionate about this issue, and rightfully so, but that is not a comparison that we would make." These remarks were made by a health care expert unaffiliated with our campaign. They were totally inappropriate and the campaign rejects them completely. I expect an apology for your misuse of information. Perhaps you can actually go and read stuff for yourself.

It was not a person apart of the Clinton campaign, but a person apart of a group working for universal healthcare. Mark Penn, Clinton's cheif strategist was on the same conference call he and said the Nazi comment was too far and not something he supports though he understands the passion that it invokes. Why dont you do a little more research instead of listening to sound bytes and little blurbs in the media. The whole media transcript ti readily available to read. Why not get upset at Obama's tactics, I am a uniter not a divider, sending out rehashed repug agendas against Clinton.
  5. Does Quentin have an options left? I know Fields does? But I cant see not playing Quentin regularly if he was on the big club, what would be the point of that.
  6. Why do we want Rowand again? So he can swing away at the slider falling off the plate, lunging at it and grinding into the numerous double plays and pop outs that plagued him here and killed many a scoring drive. It is not like he is fast, or a high obp, despite what he did last year. Kenny Williams is in panic mode.
  7. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 09:34 PM) Please...Jordan was being paid nearly $30 million dollars by Reinsdorf in his final years. Once MJ left, Phil did not feel like rebuilding. For all the crap people give Reinsdorf, he is the best owner in this town by far and has been for the past 20 years. OFF TOPIC Ummmmm, no. Reinsdorf loved his boy Jerry Krause way too much and Krause did not want to give up GM duties to Jackson. Jackson wanted to stay and rebuild but Reinsdorf's loyalty to Krause killed the Bulls.
  8. You know what is sadder? The Triple A team looks the same way. We need to build a hungry, pride feeling throughout this organization.
  9. I would like to see him stick with it. Maybe they can hire an instructor of sorts to work with him. He defintely looked a little cold at the position. He played 2b the first game then SS the second. I really like his field speed and range. He would be an ideal SS if he gets past the silly over thinking mistakes. It is just not a natural reaction for him yet. But he has a real nice bat, works the count well, see's a lot of pitches, and doesnt do a whole lot of hacking and missing.
  10. Just got back from the game. Sico looked okay. Constant 90-92 on the gun at the Park. Featuring about 80% FB. When he reered back and cut them loose at 94-93 he missed location badly. But between 90-92 Wiki didnt have to move his mit at all. His breaking ball got hit hard, very hard...up up in the zone with no break. Threw a nice slider but never really went back to it, losts of bad swing and misses on it. Threw some fantastic Santana type change ups way done in the zone with tons of movement at 74 mph for very pretty strikeouts, wondered out loud why he did not throw them more. Once he started to get hit hard he got rattled but settled okay. Threw harder then it looked. Broke 3 bats. Could be a very good sp with more location and development of breaking pitches. Sierra is terrible. 94 down the pipe all the time. Richar looks to be a nice prospect. Very nice short quick stroke up the middle. Not pull happy. Goes with the pitch as evidence of fantastic hit down the third base line on a pitch on the corner. Solid hits up the middle but onlyl one went through. Looks smaller then listed but nice strong upper body. Hits the ball very hard. Very quick on the basepaths. Needs major work on his jumps. Got a slow jump on way to steal 2nd...stopped hitched then ran and still stole it. In the field he is very quick but made a stupid mistake that should have been an error. Maybe they didnt because of the hop but ranges very far to his left on a hard hit ball got caught in between and tried to back hand the grab when all he needed was to scoop and he muffed it. I was suprised he got there. Didnt get to see his arm. Sweeney looked bad in CF. Does not look natural at all. Could have been an off day but was bailed out by Owens twice and deep hits. Gets bad jumps, plays the bouncers to him slow, but he does glide effortlessy on the track down. His arm is fantastic. When he threw him out at home he only had 3/4s to go. Wiki has a cannon behind the plate. Sucks he cant hit. K. Perez has some nice pop in his bat. Rogo looks like he should be cut. such a pity. Owens is pouting and looked awful at the plate.
  11. Yay I am going to this game. Hopefully it doesnt rain. Do you think I should bring a chest protector and mask in case he gets wild?
  12. To Brian: What are you talking about? The question is talent at third not roles on the team. If Crede didnt pop up 80% a game then maybe he would have a better role.
  13. For the same reason peaople change the channel when baby seals begin to be clubbed for their fluffy fur?
  14. Did you hear that guy int he crowd scream HE GONE before he struck out LOL
  15. MVP MVP MVP MVP I will make him one out of foil if I have too
  16. Verlander is not even locating well and we cant hit him?
  17. I thought Jason Bere was the last real power pitcher, then I think Alex Fernandez after him.
  18. What makes you think he can be a two or three guy? Just curious. He really does not have anything amazing in his arsenal. A plus curve but if its missing, majors can hit his fastball for sure.
  19. When he gets some electric stuff.....
  20. Chicago's dirty? Whats New York and LA?
  21. But we gave up our own truly almost only real power arm, from the left side even, in Lummey to get him.... for a reliever. Finese guys do not usually have great K/BB rates so they normally have to put balls in play more which means for chances for mistake. A power am can strike people out and get of of a jam easier. Power pitchers sometimes have arm rtrouble but you still have to take a chance on some talent. Every other team does.
  22. Well what I gather from Flash's posts, and im not talking for him, is that we like arms in our system that have any kind of electric stuff. Of course not every team has a Liriano, but they have prospects that have very good stuff, high end fastball or pwer arms. When we in our system have a bunch of control pitchers that rely on +/to average breaking pitches. And we all know when they do not have their "location" that they get rocked hard. Lummey was one guy that had some electric stuff despite the low K/BB ratio. And that is somethign we should value because we dahm well try our hardest to get it through trades/pick ups in our bullpen. Why sell the Top end talent arms to get middling arms/talent and leave our system with a bunch of soft tossers that are no better than trade bait/A/AA/ stat fluffers. No one is drooling over HEath Phillips, Haeger/ Broadway/ McCullouh with their pedestrian FB and stuff. We used to draft power arms and got scared because of injuries. Drafting scared is not going to find you talent. Dont be scared of the Rauch's, Bere's, Fernandez's that come up with some arm problems.... draft the talent.
  23. ^I agree Vazquez is probably even better than Mac for the first 5 anyway. Ozzie should do what he did for Garland last year. Take him out of the games with leads before he explodes and make him earn it to stay in longer.
