QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 26, 2007 -> 05:13 AM) Where they are going probably won't let them in... Untrue from every news report I have seen in the past few days. Even Chargers Stadium is allowing pets. I suppose it's easier to leave them behind and let the shelter workers risk their lives to save them. I hope none of them get their pets back and they are adopted out to owners who value their lives more than a book of pictures.

Why are people evacuating not taking their animals with them? Assholes.

QUOTE(Cali @ Oct 22, 2007 -> 01:44 PM) Keep watching Carpoolers, cause Im working on the show, so you're keeping me employed if you do haha Tell Faith Ford to stop over-acting. Other than that I think it's hysterical.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Oct 22, 2007 -> 05:30 PM) Damn Steff, the current bid is over 10 g's? lol. I'll stick with my replica. Also, I need to get the pigface. Know where I can get one at a decent price? I would check on the site I posted above or on eBay. Over the years I have seen a lot of amature costume makers create some pretty good looking ones. As for the authentic Billy #4 it's funny that it's that much. Right before the first one Leigh sold one of the ones from #1 for $300 and he thought that was a lot of cash for a prop. It also wasn't half as good as the ones they used in #2 and #3.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Oct 22, 2007 -> 04:54 PM) I feel like a virgin 4 days before the prom. I'm going to wear my Jigsaw puppet mask to the movie. There's just nothing like Saw. I've been obsessed with the series even before I saw the first one. I remember reading about it at a horror site during the summer of 2004 and just saying to myself DAMN! This could be pretty good. And I haven't been dissapointed yet. The official Saw 4 Billy is up for auction on eBay!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/THE-SAW-4-PUPPET_W0QQi...1QQcmdZViewItem Also, they are having the yearly Saw marathon at Woodfield.

QUOTE(CrimsonWeltall @ Oct 21, 2007 -> 10:06 PM) No. Perhaps she was necessary to help kidnap the people because Jigsaw was such a gimp, but that doesn't imply she set up the house. Plus, in the tapes that accompanied various rooms, it was Jigsaw's voice explaining the situations, which implies that he devised (or at least approved) the traps. In order to understand her role it is necessary to understand what her lesson was to be. Without that I agree that she seems to have been nothing but the kidnapper.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Oct 21, 2007 -> 11:22 PM) .... and in number 2 and 3 they went completely against what his supposed purpose was from number 1. Because in 2 they were Amanda's "tests" and in 3 they were Jeff's. The franchise evolved as it had to since the mastermind behind the creation of it was dying. It would have made zero sense for them to follow in his footsteps especially since they initially were ungrateful for their lives. IMO that's the genius and captivating element to the series. I do see how you wouldn't like it if it was expected to stay the same though. For me that would be like Jason or Freddy movies... the same old mask and slasher glove was boring to me.
-
QUOTE(CrimsonWeltall @ Oct 21, 2007 -> 07:31 PM) I didn't think anything in II specifically implied that the house was all Amanda's setup and not Jigsaw's. In either case, it doesn't make them (or the movie) any less lame. Amanda wearing the Jigsaw costume was a pretty specific implication, no?

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Oct 21, 2007 -> 03:21 PM) Lol i do understand the movie, and it was mostly the 2nd one that i had the problem with... because that one was set up largely by jigsaw. Even the last one, the 3 victims in the initial trap were setup by Jigsaw and he didnt give them a legit shot to survive themselves only to be saved. And even so they didnt have much of a chance. He had very little to do with the house traps. If you recall he was waiting in his lair for Eric to come and test him with his son's disappearance. She set them all up (first for revenge on Eric for setting her up on drug charges and second to show jiggy that she was worthy to carry on his legacy) as was revealed at the end. And I don't quite follow you on #3... the traps - which again were Amanda's doings (jiggy was on his deathbed), other than Troy's which was to set up Kerry for her's by getting her back on the investigation, were not made for the victims to get out of without assistance. That was Jeff's purpose. To forgive or seek revenge. That was the theme of the installment.

QUOTE(juddling @ Oct 18, 2007 -> 11:15 PM) I may be the only one but I'm enjoying Carpoolers on ABC. I like it to. Also hooked on Dirty, Sexy, Money and Big Shots. Brian, I agree Earl sucked Thursday.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 20, 2007 -> 07:57 AM) Just out of curiosity, do any of the Saw fans on this site believe that the product has become watered down with 4 movies now, and 2 more on the way? I thought that Saw 3 was supposed to be the conclusion of the series? I don't. And regarding Saw 3 Bausman never claimed it was the last one. Folks just assumed since John was dying that it was. In fact James Wan and Leigh Whannell said from the start that they had enough material written before they even shopped #1 to make several movies - several different franchises was their direction at that time. And Greg Hoffman added a lot to the mix once he was brought on board.

QUOTE(juddling @ Oct 19, 2007 -> 05:24 PM) Skip over the BS???? heck..if i could do that, I'd be done with Soxtalk in 4 and a half minutes....LOL LOL, I was going to make a similar comment in my reply.

While I love this franchise, I don't think I would mind skipping a year to be sure it's done right. Though they haven't had any trouble delivering quality up to this point. Juddling, the "ask Darren" and the "Darren responds" threads are long and some of the comments are stupid, but many of them are extremely rewarding if you can skip over the bs.

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 18, 2007 -> 09:47 PM) Yes, this deserved it's own thread. Anyone else pumped for it's release on the 26th? The online trailers so far have been awesome. Looking very forward to it. This site, www.houseofjigsaw.com ,has a ton of interesting stuff for the Saw fan. Darren and several of the cast members are members and there are some great threads on the future of the franchise. Supposedly 5 and 6 are currently being filmed.

Of course, handing the guy a copy of your state's statutory rape laws wouldn't be a bad idea, either.... Edited Critic's post changing the font color to reflect my thoughts.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 11, 2007 -> 10:20 PM) Just got back from watching "Into The Wild" and I enjoyed it tremendously. The cinematography is amazing and there are also a few outstanding performances. The best thing Penn does in this film is to focus not on what the kid was running from, but what he was running to. I'm so excited to see this. The Oscar buzz is huge as well. And the story behind Penn waiting 10 years to make it and his relationship with the family is so awesome also.

QUOTE(daa84 @ Oct 10, 2007 -> 06:34 PM) not that this is even close to being a concrete rumor...but someone once told me jack buck accused mike schmidt (who admitted to using amphetamines) of using steroids and buck believed that they crept their way into the game even since that era.....not a fact, but wouldnt doubt it, and as you said, the stuff isnt new...i believe the prevalence of it and the "designer drug" nature of it is a newer phenomenon That story, as well as many others on the widespread usage back in the mid and late 70's, has been around a long time. It's not hard to believe.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 10, 2007 -> 07:32 AM) I checked our building, and the picture is VERY recent. Like August or September recent. New building just down our street looks almost like it does now, in terms of phase of construction. This is uber-cool. And kind of creepy. The deck at Rosebud was repaired in early September and the pic reflects that with the view from the bridge. I agree creepy-cool. The technology is amazing.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 11:11 PM) Streetview is a view from the street. I assume you're looking at the satalite images, which have been around for 3+ years in some cases (Soldier Field is still under construction) Oddly some of our area is avaliable in streetview and some isn't. And even more odd is that half of our subdivision is updated on the sat maps. The school is complete and they also show the new HS on Naper/Plainfield being built, but the houses on the other side of our lake don't exist yet. Strange.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 09:33 PM) I've seen time indicative things (movie marquees and such) that put it just after the 4th of July until Late August. Apparently they didn't get out our way for updated ones yet. The foundations for some of the houses on the other side of the lake aren't even in and they've been there for 2 years this summer.

I want Barry Bonds in the Cell
Steff replied to Punch and Judy Garland's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 02:46 PM) Hey, I dislike Barry intensely, but I still can't deny he has one hell of a bat. Still one of the best in baseball. 4 hours and no attack... I envy you 72. -
QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 08:51 AM) Problem is that some people tend to rub people the wrong way. Doesn't matter if what they say is true 90% of the time, if they come across as "holier than thou", it really doesn't matter. Even if they admit their mistakes and not being right, if the initial post is always "that way", it will always lead to a fight. So with that logic I should be mad as hell and post as such towards minors (and jason and 29 since they both also posted opposite comments)... is that right? To hell with personal responsibility for ones actions or words? So it's the fault of the poster and not the reader for how one perceives and responds...? That's an interesting avenue to travel. Although I'm glad I don't respond that way.

I want Barry Bonds in the Cell
Steff replied to Punch and Judy Garland's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
QUOTE(greg775 @ Oct 8, 2007 -> 02:06 PM) I didn't think Bonds' mistress' comments had been in the public til the Playboy Interview. And her tapes of him saying he would kill her I thought were new. I realize there are a lot of scumbags in sports but this guy is the creme de la creme. He defines everything wrong with sports. I just can't see bringing in a guy this old, this brittle, this selfish and THIS OLD. No way the Sox are that dumb, especially considering this is gonna end the same way the Marion Jones deal ended. With Bonds getting sentenced. You are correct regarding her comments. It has only been 4 years. Kimbery Bell, who from her claims had been dating BB since 1994, went on record in an Arizona court with her claims in late 2003 detailing Barry's violent side and drug use (which she claims started in late 1998) in retaliation for him not "buying her a house" as he had promised. Although, IIRC before she ever said a word the steroid suspicion has been out there since 2000.
