  1. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 02:11 PM) I hated not working. Even if I won the lottery, I would have to invest into something that would keep me busy. Besides, daytime TV sucks That's for sure. I don't think it would be so bad if this was my choice. Laziness and I definitely don't do well together.

    The Ideal Job

    QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 12:33 PM) After being in both, at least for a little bit, I'm glad I went corporate. . . but the BIG corporate (i.e. Time Warner Cable) sucks. Too much red-tape BS. I really like where I'm at now. It's a good place to work. I definitely agree with you that mid-corp is way better than the high end. They tend to take more interest in their employees more than just an % of department cost. I like where I am now also. Hopefully they save my spot.
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 12:13 PM) Come on, you don't look a day over 34 Yuk, yuk, yuk....

    The Ideal Job

    QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 11:52 AM) I've quickly learned that for me its more about time and a job that I like than money. Don't get me wrong, money is important but there comes a salary (for me its starts right around 100K based on current standards) where at that point, anything more that involves a lot more work wouldn't be worth it to me. Right now I work 50 hours a week on a pretty regular basis and its not the type of work you can sleepwalk through. I pretty much am working hard or busting my butt just to get the stuff done in that window (a lot of people where I work put in a lot more time). Bottom line, give me a job where I make 100K, don't have a brutal commute, enjoy the work and work a pretty standard 40HR job and I'd be exstatic (and I know I'll be at that point 3 years from now). If it takes me two to three years of harder times (currently) than so be it. Hell even now I still at least have the perks of good vacation and working with great people. The advantages of our line of work is that in a very short time we can (depending mainly on the corporate or private route taken) dictate our hours and pay scale. I don't mind the corporate route, but sometimes I do wish I went the other way. The good news is that in March and April I can really cash in if I want to.
  8. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 3, 2007 -> 03:29 PM) but, it might pay off. Oh, sorry, already said that. It's way better than the alternative. I thought not working would be a good thing... it's not. Boredom induces insanity.

    Tattoos

    QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 2, 2007 -> 06:42 PM) She'd be hotter if somebody hadn't written all over her. Seriously...is that Sharpie??? That would suck. Her ink is cool I think. To each her own... what I do think is repulsive is that cigarette hanging out of her mouth 24/7. :puke
  10. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 3, 2007 -> 01:40 PM) Needs a bigger stick! No way. She's a swell gal..
  11. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 27, 2007 -> 09:15 AM) So a company in Pittsburgh seems to constantly pick the Pirates to play the Sox? Interesting. And I am sure MLB has some influence. Its not like they just say OK, pick a few teams to play each other. They have requests I am quite sure, as to what interleague teams play each other. I have no idea what happens beyond the computer picks. Just wanted to clear up the misconseption that the owners make the schedule.
  12. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 27, 2007 -> 08:59 AM) Is Yankmee stadium worth a trip? IMO, no. And FYI neither MLB or individual teams make the schedule. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1936328
  13. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 01:37 PM) The very same game. It was a great time. I don't Milwaukee has been the same since. Everytime we go up to the suite Bill always asks... "do you still talk to those 2 guys that came with you a few years ago.. ya remember the ones that had an opinion on EVERYTHING..."
  14. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 12:17 PM) What Jim are we missing? JimH? Different Jim? Yea JimH and Quickman. They were with us one year in Milwaukee and it was seriously one of the most entertaining games ever . MG is that that game you are thinking of also?
  15. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 12:39 PM) Serious advice to all... Write it down. That way in two hours when you are too damned tired and worn out to remember what you did before, it is there for you to check. It makes things much easier. I found a neat little timer on one of the baby supply sites. It's made/approved by the red cross and it's very helpful for middle of the night wake ups due to teething.
  16. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 09:56 AM) Yea, that didn't work so good a couple of weeks ago when we had to fly . . . but she was soooooo tired that she had herself wired and wouldn't sleep. She screamed for 15 minutes after take-off and then fell asleep, even through the landing. Try switching to baby Motrin. The doc's claim it's better. Also a trick we learned was headphones with "baby music". Some kids hate things on their heads or in their ears so that wont work if she's like that. But both grandkids here respond awesome to that. Lifesaver in resturants.
  17. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 09:19 AM) Well, I don't know if I can make that one. It seems like it will get harder and harder for little one to fly as she gets older, until she's 5 or 6 when it's cool. Up the dose of baby Tylenol..
  18. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 07:39 AM) It is annoying that I use less electricity then last year and pay 30% more. Thankfully up here the electric has only had a minimal increase. Now the gas... that's an entirely different ballgame.
  19. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 07:37 AM) WOOOO WOOOO WOOOOO WOOOOOOO DANGER WILL ROBINSON, DANGER!! LMAO.. We're waaay past that warning signal.
  20. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 06:52 AM) No beer for you. I hope all is going well and happy happy Not even root beer at this point!! All is well aside from the boredom, and I think my poor husband is going to kill me soon as being home all day finds me finding new projects for him to do. Thanks for the HB wishes.
  21. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 15, 2007 -> 10:12 AM) I'm scared enough about the prospect of being married one day, I don't need a television show haunting me. LOL... One of the most important things to remember about any relationship is that it is what you make it, and it revolves around love and respect. As long as you have those two all the other things - trust, compassion, understanding, etc.. - fall into place.
  22. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 15, 2007 -> 10:06 AM) Well it depends which day you catch me. The husband says "he always looks like Mr. GQ".
  23. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 15, 2007 -> 08:20 AM) Got the facial hair thing right. I am the last person someone would think is an ultra-liberal hippie type. I look more like a total metrosexual if that makes any sense. At work I look like any other corporate guy. Fixed that for ya.
  24. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 15, 2007 -> 08:59 AM) I somehow sat through the pilot available on On Demand and could barely keep myself awake. I could see the appeal to those who have been (or are currently) in a marriage and relate to issues such as not having sex for long periods of time; but this subject matter, with the current assortment of characters, doesn't interest me. I don't fault, HBO, though. This show wasn't greenlit to appeal to me. What'd I really like to see HBO do is create a horror-related series. They've done it in the past with "Tales From The Crypt." If they're willing to take a chance, it'd atleast be interesting to watch something different. There was more to the show than 1 plot line about a couple who stopped having sex, but regardless I don't think you have to have a relative situation to be attacted to a train wreck. If that was the case most shows on TV would have no following. I do agree on the horror stuff. Tales from the Crypt and the autopsy shows were huge favorites of mine in the past.
