QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ May 25, 2008 -> 10:55 AM) I'm south of Salt Lake City. My other aunt and uncle live there, I'm going to be heading down there sometime to visit them, almost certainly. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ May 25, 2008 -> 10:59 AM) Oh. And welcome to Utah, Felix! Thanks, it's pretty awesome here so far. I'm living with my aunt and uncle, and its just great. The view from their house is spectacular, it looks over the area and has a great view of the mountains as well.

QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ May 24, 2008 -> 10:15 PM) Now if you lived in Utah, you could go to Beto's, a 24 hr. Mexican rest. When I first moved here I always saw Mexicans coming out of Beto's. Naturally I thought they must have pretty good food. Well, they do. It's not expensive and you get large portions. Plus, the Horchata is muy bueno. What part of Utah? I just got here yesterday (North Salt Lake) and am spending the summer for an internship.

Uribe to 15 Day DL retroactive, Wise called up
QUOTE (BearSox @ May 23, 2008 -> 09:01 PM) My spelling is about as bad as it gets. Grammar wise, I think I'm fairly good in that category. But I can't spell at all. Like in grammar school, while everyone didn't study at all and would ace all the spelling tests, I'd have to study the night before, and if I didn't, I'd struggle. Seriesly?

Films Thread
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 23, 2008 -> 02:18 PM) Also, why didn't the match end in a draw? They went into the final hole tied, the doctor missed his first putt and made the second, and then the judge hit his first shot. Chevy then missed his first shot and sunk the second, and the kid made his first shot. I recently watched it, and wondered the same thing. However, I felt the movie was awesome and absolutely hilarious

QUOTE (Texsox @ May 23, 2008 -> 01:32 PM) Sometime about 10 years ago I stopped being able to sleep easily on planes. I developed this sensation of "falling" asleep, as in I feel like I'm falling. Not a good feeling on a plane. For me, I just can't get into any sort of deep sleep. It's annoying.

QUOTE (Texsox @ May 23, 2008 -> 01:16 PM) I'd stay awake all night and sleep on the plane. I've thought about it, but I don't generally sleep well on planes. Whatever, I'm just going to go sleep early tonight, it'll be easier.

Reason to Suspect Quentin is Using Illegal Substances
QUOTE (chiguy79 @ May 23, 2008 -> 01:10 PM) blogs in general are crap. If you are reporter, report don't blog. If you are going to blog have a blog and don't associate with the newpaper. The Chicago tribune is never going to be good at edgy blogging...for that we have soxtalk. Ok Buzz Bissinger.

Reason to Suspect Quentin is Using Illegal Substances
It's almost as if a prospect who was touted as good player is actually living up to his expectations in his third season after getting healthy and getting used to major league pitching. STEROIDS!!!

That's a real shame about Maddux being #17 here. He's the best pitcher of our generation, definitely should be higher.

Crede more patient at plate?
He's seeing the same number of P/PA as the last two years (08: 3.68, 07: 3.70, 06: 3.67), yet seems to be drawing a bunch more walks. I don't know what to attribute his increase walk rate though, it's interesting to see.

Figgins to Sox rumors persist
QUOTE (shipps @ May 22, 2008 -> 11:02 AM) Broadway or Poreda, and yes Uribe would hurt the deal. I like Broadway, but I highly doubt that they would do Figgins for Broadway. It wouldn't make sense for their team. And Poreda isn't a AAA pitcher. Last I checked, he was in High-A, which is vastly different than AAA. And again, I doubt the Angels would trade one of their better and more versatile starting players for a High-A pitcher. They're in first place, and looking to this years playoffs, not to the future.

Figgins to Sox rumors persist
QUOTE (The Beast @ May 21, 2008 -> 11:30 PM) Look guys, I'll admit don't know much about Figgins or the Angels asking price for him, but would the Angels take Uribe and a minor leaguer (AAA pitcher?) if we ate a decent portion of Uribe's salary? Why would they ever do that? We don't have any AAA pitchers that are worth Figgins, and at this point, Uribe would hurt the deal as oppose to help it.
