  1. CQ and Jose. I felt that Jose deserved this one, especially after the way he looked last year. I admit it, I thought he was done and wanted to trade him for a bag of balls to ditch his contract. He's definitely proven me wrong thus far, and has looked damn impressive.
  2. This is going to be nearly impossible, since I never watched shows like Cheers or MASH due to my age, yet know they should be included in this sort of list. I just have no idea where to put them.
  3. QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 07:47 AM) Wow, 3rd all time? I know he's had a hell of a career and hardly missed any starts, but i never thought he'd have a chance with how many games the pitchers of the past used to pitch. However, since you made this question, i figured it had to be relatively close. My guess was 20. I looked it up. He can make 3rd all time....but getting up to 2nd place will be tough. Greg Maddux is the best pitcher of this generation, no questions asked.
  4. So I guess we're ignoring where Thome had a 1.014 OPS in 2006 and .973 OPS in 2007. By having him in the lineup, KW wasn't hoping he'd return, he was hoping he'd continue his middle-of-the-order abilities, which Thome hadn't shown any signs of losing.

QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ May 30, 2008 -> 09:46 PM) I thought There Will Be Blood was wayy better than No Country For Old Men. I didn't, but I really liked both of them. I think I liked No Country more, although Daniel Day Lewis was fantastic in There Will Be Blood.
  6. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 31, 2008 -> 02:42 AM) I don't...he has much more value to this team than Pablo Ozuna does. If anything, I hope he's DFA'd. Seconded
  7. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ May 30, 2008 -> 09:58 AM) You really want to cry....Let me tell ya what would be at the top of my list...Rolling Rock and Miller Lite. Sam Adams ftw
  8. Musical artist or TV Cartoon. Spoiler alert: If its musical artist, I'm totally putting Zappa on top, and if its a cartoon, Futurama ftw!
  9. QUOTE (BearSox @ May 28, 2008 -> 07:00 PM) I think it is from the movie "A Space Odyssey." 2001: A Space Odyssey (and yes, that's what its from)
  10. Thats not Carlos Quentin (just kidding, kind of; looks good, other than the fact that it isn't CQ)
  11. Happy birthday, fellow Zappa appreciator!
  12. QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ May 27, 2008 -> 12:07 PM) Would I be crazy in saying Sammy Sosa probably deserves to be in the top18 based off his career in Chicago, he has fallen off greatly with fans now but during his day he was damn good, 600 HR's. He was on my list, 13th in fact.
  13. QUOTE (rangercal @ May 27, 2008 -> 10:36 AM) are you making the same argument if Jordan and Payton were left out? I certainly wouldn't agree with whoever left them out, just like I don't agree that Thomas or Pippen were left out, but people are entitled to their own opinion. Hell, if you ask me, I find it absolutely ridiculous that the best pitcher of this generation was only on a third on the lists (Greg Maddux) and only 17th on this list. But people can have whatever opinion they want, and just because some people have different opinions than myself doesn't mean I'm going to stop participating in these lists.
  14. There is no 1-100 scale of greatness. There's no way of saying one player in one sport is greater than a different player in a different sport because after all, they're different sports which require different talents. Because of this, a list of the greatest players is an opinion, which is why there are so many differences in lists. If it weren't an opinion, there'd be no reason to make such a list, since everyone would be on the same page.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 27, 2008 -> 09:49 AM) And that's a bad thing because...? It'd be taking votes away from Danks/Floyd/Contreras, all of whom are having better season (although I can't believe Floyd will continue this pace, more walks than strikeouts is just disturbing).
  16. QUOTE (rangercal @ May 27, 2008 -> 09:55 AM) Nope. I just understand Chicago Sports to know you can't leave out Pippen and Thomas. Well, it's a good thing you know these sorts of things better than everyone else. Hell, why even make lists? Let's just ask you each question, since you know everything to do with Chicago sports so well. They're opinions. Everyone has their own. No need to overreact because a couple of people don't agree (or forgot) about 2 players.
  17. QUOTE (rangercal @ May 27, 2008 -> 09:48 AM) Thomas missing from a List and Pippen missing from 3 lists should make this whole thing VOID. I'm done participating with these lists. Good thing you aren't overreacting or anything.
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 27, 2008 -> 09:15 AM) Just breaking the law and doing drugs. No big deal. Basically, yeah.
  19. Oh boy, another blowup doll thread that goes nowhere!
  20. I went in but wasn't needed, so left.
  21. QUOTE (Brian @ May 25, 2008 -> 08:26 PM) Let's bump the "White Sox sign Scott Linebrink" thread and see who didn't like the deal. I'll tell you one thing, I absolutely hated it. He's definitely proving me wrong so far though, he's looked really good this year.
  22. I totally called that one in the chat too Awesome job by Q, he basically is our offense.
  23. QUOTE (Texsox @ May 25, 2008 -> 07:36 PM) If you love the outdoors, it's hard to beat Utah. I've been here two days, and I'm far from the outdoorsman, but I've already gone for a run and bike ride with my uncle. It's absolutely gorgeous out here, I'm definitely going to be in shape by the end of summer.
