  1. QUOTE(WinninUgly @ Nov 25, 2005 -> 10:37 AM) Rowand is available for FA status after 2006, so he very well could end up back in a Sox uni for 2007. Highly doubted, considering the fact that we will have Brian Anderson, Chris Young, Ryan Sweeney, and Jerry Owens all waiting to get some action in the MLB.
  2. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 02:32 PM) a lot of you guys vastly underrate Blalock. I think he obviously has some kinks and could stand to fall less in love with the fences but he's a great fielder and will be a terrific player for a long time. He's still very young You could say the same about Crede, could you not?
  3. Good. I hope KW doesn't change his mind on that matter, if its true.
  4. We have 5 good starters. We have 5 starters that could, arguably, be the #1 guy on some pitching staff's. We don't need Vasquez to waste our cash by sitting on the bench. Just stop joking around now, and think realistically. Adding Vasquez likely ends any chance of us getting Konerko back, unless JR is willing to bump the payroll up to $95+ million, which I doubt.
  5. QUOTE(WinninUgly @ Nov 24, 2005 -> 08:40 PM) No way, born and raised on the South Side, lifetime Sox fan. Unfortunately, not many Army installations to choose from in the Chi-town area. Way to represent the east coast I'm in Jersey now, and I'm surrounded by Yankee fans. Its probably better than next fall, when I'll be surrounded by Twins fans at UMN for college.
  6. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 24, 2005 -> 08:49 PM) They could. Without raising the payroll to like.. $95 million?
  7. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Nov 24, 2005 -> 07:31 PM) I am sure this won't be a popular thought but hell I will ask it anyway. What if the Sox were to possibly go after Corey Patterson? The kid has tons of talent and has a much better arm than most already being discussed. If they can put him in the 7 or 8 hole and take the pressure off of him maybe he would be able to produce. I'm not saying here, I'm just saying. Thoughts? No. No. No. No. Oh, and did I say no?
  8. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Nov 24, 2005 -> 04:17 PM) Pierre had over 200 hits last year, but his OBP was a measly .326. His OPS was only .680. He did steal 57 bases, and had a nice success rate of .77. He also struck out (45) more times than he walked (41). He had 181 hits last year, not 200.
  9. QUOTE(Beastly @ Nov 24, 2005 -> 06:34 PM) Damaso Marte straight up for Pierre. Signing Konerko long term. Without looking at the numbers, I'm almost certain the Sox cannot afford both Pierre and Konerko.
  10. QUOTE(TheHawkaroo @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 07:55 PM) People seem to think that Thome is some kind of injury risk, he was hurt last year but other than that the guy has been healthy. He's hit 400 HR in the past ten years. He's old. Anyone that's old and misses a season due to an injury is an injury concern.
  11. I never said our team would suffer, I just said that I don't think Anderson is ready for the majors.
  12. QUOTE(hi8is @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 07:35 PM) you take your once a month pill this morning? I've thought this for awhile, and have posted it before. Next year, yes. This year, I don't think he will be that good offensively, probably worse than ARow last year. But this is just my opinion.
  13. No, I don't think Anderson is ready for the majors next year, but it appears he will be starting anyway.
  14. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 06:30 PM) The man changed the whole face of the team last offseason and built this team into a world series winner and you're not going to give him the benefit of the doubt?? QUOTE(Felix @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 06:25 PM) Personally, even though I should, I don't give KW any benefit of the doubt here. Until Thome produces, I will be pretty upset about A-Row being moved.
  15. Aaron + Frank were my top 2 Sox. This deal took them both off of the team (we won't resign Frank now that we have Thome). It really sucks, but life goes on.
  16. Personally, even though I should, I don't give KW any benefit of the doubt here. Until Thome produces, I will be pretty upset about A-Row being moved.
  17. I'm probably behind, but the White Sox offical site has nothing on Haigwood or Gio. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cws
  18. Personally, I hate the deal. I don't like trading favorite players. But for the team, its a good deal. I didn't vote, but thats my answer.
  19. QUOTE(SnB @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 05:04 PM) i'll still be wearing my arow jersey w/ the world series patch on opening day next year. same, although I won't be at the game
  20. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 04:39 PM) I'm feeling awfully good. Go Pale Hose. Personally, I feel like s***. We gave up the best defensive CF in the AL, and our two best pitching prospects, for Thome, who is a huge risk. Personally, we gave up my favorite player, and basically ensured that my second favorite player (Frank Thomas) won't be coming back. Oh well..
  21. QUOTE(knightni @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 04:28 PM) The Phillie fans are already speculating Rowand or CF Jason Michaels to the Yankees for 3b Eric Duncan. If there is a God, please, don't put ARow on the Yankees. I would not be able to handle that..
  22. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 04:01 PM) Row + Haigwood + Gio = Thome + 1/2 his contract I just don't like it. Moronic deal if thats it.
  23. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 03:39 PM) I am now a Phillies fan. Same here. They have the Phanatic and Rowand.. thats enough.
  24. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 09:51 AM) Sorry, but this is a pet peave of mine. Where did this come from? What is the source? It's frustrating to see what looks like a news excerpt, but could be something pulled off of a fantasy site (as has happened here before) or just about anywhere else. Please cite your sources, folks. Thanks. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2234421
