I just ate a summer sausage sandwich with kraut, onion and mustard. It was awesome...I might have a heart attack.

So now that I'm working again I have to rebuild my liquor stock...not mention syrups. Might have to use christmas to help me out. I did notice we now have Templeton Rye on the shelves.

11 is from Bells and breakfast stout is Founders in case you try to find them in stores. Both are great breweries. 11 was sold out when I went to the store yesterday. Drat.

HA! I just bumped the Finer Things thread for a Alaskan Smoked Porter. Sorry. Oh, and Destihl is absolutely amazing. Their sours are very impressive.

And. We're. Back. With an Alaskan Smoked Porter. This has been a whale for me. Many moons ago I bought a Michael Jackson book...er a book using his name anyway, and this was one of his favorites. I've never had access until now and sure enough I stumbled on it at Woodmans. Now I love smoked beers and this bad boy is a really good example of a really nicely balanced smokey beer. Plenty of sweet chocolate with a medium body preventing it from becoming cloying. The smoke has a nice camp fire aroma. Impressively drinkable.

So this is nice... The attorneys in my office are union because we work for government. This year, everyone was forced into 15 furlough days in lieu of layoffs. Back in July the union filed a grievance over the furloughs for lost wages this year (and stand a good chance of winning). I got hired in September and have been working for two weeks. I've had nothing to do with any of these actions. Nevertheless, if the union wins the arbitration and gets back pay, guess who will be laid off to cover the expenses? Me. So after months of unemployment and struggling to get my career in order, I land a job I really like, and 2 weeks in, I have to worry about this crap. And of course, the old people with secured pensions don't give a s*** because seniority is all that matters.
