BOO!! TRADE JIMBO!
-
QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 08:37 PM) nice nice nice PK will homer this inning you heard it hear first. if he doesn't, i'm holding you personally accountable. we'll change the "trade paul konerko cuz he's the worst ever!" thread to "trade jimbo's drinker cuz he's the worst ever!"
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 08:17 PM) Alright Konerko apologists, when is it too late to wait for him to snap out of it? He's shown ZERO improvement. July stats .234 .308 .340 .648 the average is an improvement, if you want to get technical

are you guys kidding me? he hit the pitcher. squarely tagged up the middle. that was GOOD hitting, you can't blame PK for that one even if he has sucked this year.

QUOTE (RME JICO @ Jul 23, 2008 -> 09:18 PM) OPS AB Runs Hits RBI 2B HR BB SO HBP CQ .930 358 70 100 76 17 26 46 59 14 JH . 904 397 61 121 98 22 22 39 71 2 Besides having a higher BA, the only other major offensive categories that Hamilton has a lead in is Hits, RBI, and 2B. If you take into account that he also has 39 more AB's than CQ, those numbers become much closer. This year, multiple teams have 2 or more candidates in the running, which may make the race more wide open than normal. (CHW - Quentin/Dye, BOS - Ramirez/Youkilis/Drew, TEX - Hamilton/Bradley/Kinsler). CQ only has fewer at bats because he walks/gets hit so much more often than Hamilton. PA's I'd wager they're about the same. That's an argument both for and against CQ. Obviously I think CQ should win but it's not like Hamilton's been some slouch, I wouldn't be mad if he won (current paces assumed). I do, however, think that CQ is clearly more valuable to our team than Hamilton is to his. Without CQ we wouldn't be sniffing first place right now, just as Texas isn't sniffing first place right now.

I used to live in Homewood (right near Orland), and we used to take the Metra into the city and hop the Red Line to the Cell. Well, it wasn't the Cell then but thats not the point. Point is, its not too difficult, just look up your Metra routes and your L routes and make it mesh

QUOTE (letsgoarow @ Jul 17, 2008 -> 09:49 PM) Well...interesting start from Zesty. 2 ip no hits, no runs, 2 k's but, He was sitting 74-75 on his fastball lol. Fastest hit threw was 78 on the gun. So take it however you would like. I take it as a pink slip

QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jul 16, 2008 -> 02:04 AM) i say impromptu HR derby tiebreaker agreed. seriously. although i think whichever league lost would be pretty mad come october.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 31, 2008 -> 01:21 AM) Yep, the great Jered Weaver who got rocked by Toronto tonight. sometimes good pitchers get rocked but if you think jered weaver is a scrub, you are sorely mistaken
-
i'm not one to make too many excuses, but we HAVE faced some really ridiculously good pitching of late. check the ERA's of the people we've faced recently and maybe we'll get a piece of the picture as to why our offense has looked so awful of late.

QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ May 29, 2008 -> 12:53 AM) New York by far has the worst group of media members. Based on personal experience, I've only met a couple of writers that weren't complete d!cks. Mike and the Mad Dog are as intolerable in person as they are on the radio. The Sun Times is very close to being the New York Post. Both are tabloids. wow, that's pretty intolerable. what the hell are they on in new york that they'd actually put up with media like that on a regular basis?

wise...you can argue about that third strike called but you didn't have to do a pirouette on a fastball above your head...so maybe you shouldn't -
