  1. Bears out on Watson https://www.letsbeardown.com/articles/report-bears-out-of-deshaun-watson-sweepstakes/?fbclid=IwAR1bjn7p2qkcczEPBdCbSZGaDP3ECuNeqsgOuoN7UV8TNjHXqs-j9VuXtqA
  2. This list looks a lot better if someone out of that Latin American group or Osik takes a big step forward this year.
  3. So an agent that is willing to use whatever means possible to create a market for his players is weird and sad. In the 21st century where influencers have become such a part of society, I am only shocked that it isn't something used more and in more creative ways.
  4. Some interesting maybes, but we definitely need more work in the premier positions on the diamond in the minors.
  5. Except Don Cooper doesn't give AF about anyone else or what they think.
  6. Why, because he is such a willing interviewer?
  7. I have faith in you, you will find a way.
  8. What do you think Andrew Vaughn would have gotten by facing a number 5 starter in High A ball that he didn't get by going up against Sox top prospect pitchers with better stuff?
  9. https://theathletic.com/2361238/2021/02/02/chicago-white-sox-dylan-cease-mlb/
  10. Yeah if I could get a front line starter, Andrew Vaughn is at the top of my list of our top prospects I would be wiling to deal. The Sox offense is loaded, and we have a lot of other 1B/DH types behind him, as well as that Abreu guy in front of him. It isn't hard to see a scenario where they have Eloy going to DH a year or two down the road.
  11. Even if he had a normal MiLB season, the Sox never utilize their drafted starting pitchers too much in the draft year. Usually they pick up very few innings until their next year.
  12. Could Cespedes sign that cheap of a deal? I have to imagine if anything he signs something with a MiLB deal with some millions of dollars (maybe 3-5) if he makes the team by a certain date. A million seems like it wouldn't even be worth getting off of the couch for after the contract he just came off of.
  13. $90 peg for the close.
  14. Sure there are differences. I just can't go with the people pretending that because he didn't have a minor league season to put up "stats" that he can't be ready for anything this year.
  15. I don't agree with that. There has been a lot of talk of players getting a much higher level of competition than what they would have seen if they had been on regular minor league teams. The Astros are actually of the opinion that there should be less minor league ball, and instead want more instant feedback in situations where behaviors can be instantly corrected. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/do-we-even-need-minor-league-baseball/
  16. I don't get the impression that Lucas spends a lot of time worrying about his next contract, nor should he.
  17. He doesn't have to fix everyone, but if he can get one of two of the top end kids, his job will be a lot easier.
  18. I mean the stuff is obvious. Even if he fails for years, there will be teams who take shots at him because of that arm.
  19. According to a reddit message board, Lucas Giolito has repeatedly told his dad that Dylan Cease could be the best pitcher the Sox have.
  20. Not sure where the numbers actually fell, but the Sox also had about 20 million in internal raises happening up and down the roster from 20 to 21 based on full season numbers.
  21. After seeing the above post, you should probably just walk away from this topic.
