  1. You are probably looking at least a couple of top 100 players, and 3 to 4 of the top 10.
  2. OK, just gotta say, if they are having this much of a problem even getting charges filed, they have no chance at making the charges stick.
  3. Done right, you can do pretty good. Between my different rewards programs, I covered about $2000 of a Disney trip with about a two year ramp up.
  4. This is why the Sox were sitting on it. They knew something.
  5. Carlos will get a major league contract.
  6. I love stereotypes filled Boomer posts. It just amazes me that people get this far into adulthood yet have no idea what communism and socialism actually are.
  7. Which is not the same as what you previously said. His numbers are skewed by his walk numbers, not his hit numbers.
  8. It isn't one action, or even a couple here. It is a history, and it is one that isn't coming from fans, it is coming from people he played for. But when you consistently come down again things that primarily go against a specific race or minorities in general, it shouldn't be a surprise. In fact Ron Gant publicly calling out TLR happened in 1999, so as much as the current reflex is pretend being called a racist in 2020 is meaningless for some reason, this isn't just a product of our modern political environment. Tony was doing this long before the President gave people like him some cover.
  9. He had a .238 BABIP, and a .231 BAA while pitching from behind most of the time.
  10. Man the surface is being scraped here. No one has mentioned Ron Gant flat out calling TLR a racist. Also haven't seen the Kaepernik stuff mentioned, where he not only went after his anthem stance, but personally went after his activism, I haven't seen Adam Jones mentioned. I haven't seen TLR attending racist rallies, supporting prison camps in Arizona and being anti-BLM mentioned. I know there are others I am forgetting here, but this a pattern over decades.
  11. Where did you see anyone say that ONLY Cease is going to make it? You are just making up things so that you can be mad about them.
  12. It's hilarious that you mention Lucas Giolito in a post about Cease and don't see the irony. Like did you miss him leading the American League in walks? Literally he gave up more walks than anyone else for an entire season yet look at him now. Giolito was 45 starts into his career at this point, or almost twice as many starts as Cease has now, not to mention 250 innings of major league work. Were you having a meltdown about him? Upset about some mythical "pass" that powerless message board posters were somehow giving him?
  13. This is so absurd. There are definitely pitchers who start baseball with ridiculous stuff, walk lots of batters early, and the figure it out. Guys like Randy Johnson and Nolan Ryan are right at the top of the lists. Now before you overreact again, of course it doesn't mean they will be that good, but that they both possess TOR arms. Now they need to get their stuff figured out to reach that potential. The difference between the expectations of both Lppez and Cease are also INCREDIBLY obvious. Cease has thrown 131 innings over 26 starts. He hasn't even registered a single full season of work yet. Lopez has 87 starts and 92 appearances adding up to almost 500 innings pitched. You don't understand the difference in viewpoints on the future potential of each guy? How? It's literally right in front of everyone, and everyone else seems to get it.
  14. Apparently we reached the part of the season where people are already drinking heavily. It shall henceforth be know as the "TLR phase".
  15. Not admitting defeat has made the President more money in the last month than most people who voted for him will in their lifetimes. https://www.forbes.com/sites/danalexander/2020/08/25/trump-has-now-moved-23-million-of-campaign-donor-money-into-his-private-business/?fbclid=IwAR2pOCSNWGZmJ9bKLWnoBpW7HbXYdn3RLpsd389j999qR_PUFVvrds_-v-k&sh=54b352bb773c
  16. Which is exactly why it was leaked. This is a coordinated effort to distract people from the drunk.
  17. And I totally missed the last paragraph, but I can't wait to catch a game with you again. Those Soxtalk outings were some great times.
  18. You keep saying this, but it isn't true. Jerry is putting HIS moral compass over the possible well being of everyone who could die or experience losses because of Tony's being an employee of the Chicago White Sox. Jerry his putting his moral compass of potentially employing TLR, even if it means he fires other people to make it work.
  19. Having a parent who had multiple DUIs, including taking his own kids along for trips where he definitely didn't get busted while driving drunk with us? Fuck yes I would. He was an alcoholic who endangered people's lives for decades. I would have had zero problems with a company telling him that they couldn't responsibly employ him as a danger to everyone around him. He was an addict. The only time he wasn't drinking was when he couldn't afford to, so his not working for long periods of time was actually some of the times in his life he was most tolerable to be around. He wasn't nearly as aggressive, violent or abusive when he was sober. He was at his worst when he had a high paying job, expense account, and a company car. Again he could do whatever he wanted, and mostly did, but there is no obligation for someone to attach themselves to that trainwreck and enable it continue under their watch.
  20. And I can't believe people are pretending that Jerry isn't responsible for what happens to the franchise.
