Now that is pretty telling. We are under .500 in close games, despite having played a pretty crappy schedule so far. I wonder what the reason for that could be...

Just last year the Phillies had him on a list to interview for President of their organization.

If someone could break entangled particles as a form of travel or moving consciousness, they wouldn't have to send a physical self.

So to summarize: Everything is horrible about Grandal, but someone else out there will want to trade him for some who is cheaper and better in most aspects of the game. Wat?

Do they? I don't think I recall it being a news item, so maybe that is why.

This sounds horrifying. https://theathletic.com/2607875/2021/05/24/what-does-adam-engel-do-for-the-white-soxs-murky-outfield-picture/?source=rss&utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

Does whiff percentage include pitches taken for strikes? That seems to be the biggest potential disconnect.

Which is why Nightengale is the one who breaks Sox news nationally. He prints JR's side of the story, and in return, he gets the scoops.

For my two cents, there is nothing more exciting than trying to comprehend things we don't even realize that we don't yet know.

Be really nice to get them at least September to get back into the groove before the playoffs.

Does anyone else think this seems really odd? Usually Rick comes out when something happens, and at least at this point, nothing has really happened? Could there be a big announcement coming?

Except this is all being discussed in real time, and not after the fact.

It is probably also fair to point out that the old Cooper/Renteria group was very mechanical and predictable in how they typically deployed their relievers. Guys had fairly set roles, and they didn't really deviate from them unless there was a particularly galling failure by a reliever. Tony is a LOT more unpredictable, and there might be a case to be made that the relievers themselves are trying to figure out their own comfort zones here, which could be contributing to a lot of slow starts in that pen.

For those who have The Athletic, this is a great read. https://theathletic.com/2605796/2021/05/22/white-sox-pitcher-carlos-rodon-got-fed-up-and-then-he-got-better-somethings-got-to-change-here/?source=dailyemail

If the technology exists for intra-generational galactic travel, yes we essentially are smart cavemen.

To be fair, TLR should probably be included in the cheater category. The idea that he knew nothing about the steroid stuff going on in his own locker room is ridiculous, and would undermine any claims of his competency anyway. There are also the Jack McDowell allegations of scoreboard cheating going on with the Sox under Tony.

Yeah, by conventional physics, it is all but impossible. But that doesn't mean that we don't have it wrong either.

Its funny, I have always thought the US Government let the UFO thing go, or probably even led or encouraged it, to hide their own military black ops programs in plain sight. I have an open mind to the idea of alien life, as I think it is almost a statistical certainty in the universe, but the question is can they get here, and do they come here.

I will have to go back and see if I can find it. I have seen some other stuff about some of the most recent cases, but something like this will be a bit less dramatized.

It sounds great in theory, but teams don't make significant trades in April or May, especially coming off of a year where the minor leagues didn't play to be able to see some of these kids in the first place.

Plan A was Luis Robert. I'd call that a pretty good Plan A.

Honestly, his career has been a pretty impressive statement on how much White Sox player development has improved in the last half decade or so. Adam was a day 3 pick in the 19th round who has made the majors and found himself a role as a primary bench OF on a top level team. He and Mendick both following that same path have really been both impressive find and development stories.

Well, we now have two less Ragah's. Thanks for joining us. Again.

If you take more out of the kids who are struggling than the ones who jumped multiple levels, you have totally fulfilled your last sentence.
