Slugging White Sox could be ready to eclipse Cubs

As the line up stand now, they are going to be extremely streaky. The one reason I am looking forward to Madrigal is his game won't be as prone to slumps as the guys who are more boom or bust. This is going to be an extremely variable output. You can see them getting no hit one day, and 7 homers the next. The talent is absolutely there though, and hopefully they keep building the minors so that the waves keep coming and refreshing as guys leave and/or fall off. With the mass of pitching they are assembling, especially at the lower levels, that could be for making the 20's the Sox decade. Having just finished up with the Cubs, the one thing that stands out is they dealt their next wave to try to extend their window. How good would guys like Eloy and Gleybar look now pushing their window open a couple of more years? -
Clevelands ownership has started shutting the door on this team longer term, with the trades they have made so far. It is great for the Sox, but awful for the team. It won't be very long before they are in full rebuild mode. If they fall out this year, they could be a surprise seller this winter.

Long lasting fatigue is a very real thing with covid. -
I mean it can't have anything to do with not being the only legitimate threat in the line up anymore, right?

If Abreu really has as much to do with the recruiting and extending of our Latin kids as has been whispered about, not to mention taking these kids under his wing and showing them a high level work ethic, he is worth every single penny of that deal he got.

You are 100% wrong here. Every single CEO out there has commented on the effects of COVID on their industry, especially when directly asked. Every.Single.one.

No. I don't feel the need to obsess for weeks over a press release and get my feeling hurt by it.

Your point was that any young guy could be Tatis, so we should never trade one. This is a cowardly way to run an organization. -

If a GM actually acted like this and refused to make deals because they got burned in the past, that coward better resign. -
How much longer do you wait on EE and Mazara?

25 teams picked someone ahead of Mike Trout, including the Angels. -

Crap, I can't math. We have played 27 games, not 37. It is actually effectively April 23rd. -

YOu lost me when you tried to equate Steele Walker to these other guys. -

I made this point in another thread, but if this were the normal 2020 season, our 37th game was scheduled to be played on May 7. So essentially these guys are trying to fit into a new team, into a new situation, and without a spring training, and it is effectively May 7. -
Pretty sure h was.

If we had been playing the normal 2020 baseball schedule, we would have played our 37th game on May 7th. I know everyone likes to panic and spaz out, but when you factor in that his is essentially the 1st week of May, plus no one got a real spring training, overreacting to SSS is a bad idea. -
Does anyone know if Mendick has ever worked out in the OF? It would sure add to his value.
