  1. What are "Things I never expected to see on Soxtalk for $1000, Alex"
  2. Now THIS is when it is appropriate to make a list of names.
  3. now explain the rest of the world outside of a few countries.
  4. For the record, China wiped this out in 3 months after their lockdown. The 15th made 5 months here, and we STILL are having huge numbers.
  5. This is all too true. Because of all of the idiotic pressure on schools to open up no matter what, they didn't get to do nearly the amount of preparation and trainings that were needed for people unfamiliar with technology to be ready for it. Any system that looked like they were planning to open virtually had so much ire directed at it, including the possibility of losing funding coming directly from the President, not to mention no funding was dedicated nationally for these sorts of eventualities, that no was willing to step in front of that train and get destroyed for it. We have half-assed it from the beginning in terms of federal response, and this is just another in a continuing line of disasters that the rest of the world was somehow able to figure out.
  6. Parents aren't willing and/or able to control their kids. It's sad, but apparently teachers have to risk death because kids can't be controlled.
  7. Because we have a 28 man roster, and no where else to send him for active games.
  8. This is a great success story for a team that needed some wins when it came to drafting and development. They took a pretty raw basketball player, and turned him into a batting champion.
  9. For Cease it is all about control. I don't know that the number exists, but it feels like he throws ball 1 way too often, and works in from behind, which makes him more vulnerable than he should be. I also think he doesn't yet have the ability to spot his pitches, which is also hurting him. The stuff is there, but he is still really young and learning how to be a pitcher instead of a thrower. We can talk about spin and carry all you want, but if you can't work ahead and spot your pitchers, it doesn't matter.
  10. This should be a really fun and memorable one. Though usually that means we lose 11-2.
  11. Unless there is a major injury, I would say no.
  12. I think they were in the 15 to 16 million range, but rumor is no QOs this year.
  13. Engel was exposed to Covid and put on the IL when they called up Luis Gonzalez.
  14. For the record, these small nagging injuries would also go a long way towards explaining why RR hasn't played Grandal on an every day basis.
  15. Even TA is all in on Luis https://twitter.com/TimAnderson7/status/1295752904477990912?s=20
  16. 10 years 4 players 1 business 1 event In one post.
  17. Imagine. All of the time we could have been preparing for this, fighting this, and trying to help people through his was completely pissed away. Not sure how people see what is going on in the rest of the world and don't realize that we COULD have done this, but instead, the President and 40% of the country decided that science was no longer a thing, and here we are. Economic collapse and no hope on the horizon, while the rest of the world gets back to a normalish existence.
