  1. Sure, when it comes to old school thinking where the pen was an afterthought. Things are changing with the emphasis on bullpens and as we approach the point where your pen throws as many innings as your starters do.
  2. Yeah, while Bush has given some hope for the future, the kid is probably at least 3 years away, 3rd base is still a pretty big black hole for the Sox. I worry less about 1B, as you can spin just about anyone to that position. We already have a kid like Daniel Palka who could well end up there or a Zach Collins.
  3. But they HAVE to be that good to have value. If they don't, you can't move them. You can't play them somewhere else. If he comes up just short of projections you have the career of Logan Morrison. If a Nick Madrigal comes up short he can still be a plus defender and/or a utility guy.
  4. The Sox actually had some of the highest production out of the catching position this year in MLB from mainly one of their own draft picks and a MiLB rule 5 pick.
  5. The Astros did it a couple of times. The Aiken disaster and the Daz Cameron year. This is also how the Cubs fit in for Cease.
  6. Yeah, and NOLA was the one guy that people DIDN'T want the Sox to take.
  7. Because guys who have the skill to play the skill positions can always be moved down to lesser skill positions. A guy who is already down to the least skilled position on a baseball field has super limited options for his future. Plus modern baseball has started to put more and more weight into defense, and has actively started discounting players who can't play a skill position at least at a useful level, even if the bat is above average.
  8. The money will stick around probably, but with as many people as just were listed, what happens in LA if their entire front office is implicated here? Can a team start completely over? I know individuals get fired as well as groups, but I don't think I have ever seen anything on this complete of a scale. This sounds like it reaches all of the way down to the scouts on the ground and all of the way up to top management.
  9. States rights is only a thing when it benefits your party. See also the Trump admin suing the state of California over wanting to have higher standards on things like net nuetrality.
  10. Yeah, the Sox aren't giving away high potential bullpen arms.
  11. The trolling comes in the form of ridiculous posts that don't do anything but further 4 decade old grudges and temper tantrums. If you hate everything about the team so much, yet continue to put so much negative energy into it, there is really no other conclusion to come to.
  12. And we also saw what happened to the Atlanta people involved in the last problems, if this is really that much bigger in size and scope, this franchise could collapse as it would have to rebuild an entire off of the field organization from top to bottom.
  13. Holy crap! That is something like a dozen lines!
  14. 1.Zach Collins 2.Seby Zavala 3.Carlos Perez 4.Gunnar Troutwine (tie)5.Joandro Alfaro (tie)5.Ty Greene
  15. To be fair, catching is as thin as anything in MLB.
  16. The numbers 100% don't support you.
  17. And Michael Jordan was picked third. Any other irrelevant non sequiturs you want to waste?
  18. You do know that the White Sox never drew 2 million fans before 1981, right? And not even 1.7 million. In fact the 1.6 million we drew this year would rank as the 3rd highest year between 1901 and 1980.
  19. The Sox have a majorly bandwagon fan base. The fans will be back when the team wins.
  20. At this stage, I am pulling for talent. It is stupid to think that picking 7th is better than 3rd when you are talking about 95 losses versus 100. I will worry about wins when the team is competitive again.
  21. Not to mention a few more wins puts us picking worse, maybe even significantly so.
  22. You'll just get 2 more conservatives.
